Thought a wee separate thread would be handy to keep us all going and for the kick up the bums we need, tips and motivation

Oh, god, no!! I agree, I don’t want applause for being crap

ElephantOfRisk · 08/09/2021 19:28

The c25k is great for those looking to introduce a bit of running. I kept it up long enough to nearly do 5k then it started to get light evenings and I felt too embarrassed to continue after going out in ice and snow an driving rain and wind...

WouldBeGood · 08/09/2021 19:36

I did it before, during and after the divorce diet. It’s easier when I’m not so fat. Have forced DD to start it and thought would give her an incentive.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 08/09/2021 19:36

I've done it twice, but now I get tendonitis in my foot every time I run. I use the incline on my treadmill instead sometimes

runningpink · 08/09/2021 19:46

Absolutely everyone is welcome!

parkrun is brilliant! Honestly at my home run we cheer everyone, not just the slower runners.

I make a big pot of soup and freeze. I just struggle to remember to take out the freezer!

I had hardly eaten much all day due to being busy. So I have just stuffed my face with Mac and Cheese!

I need to get my arse back out doing c25k, I got to week 6 last time and gubbed my ankle. Might need some new running sneaks.

mapleleavesreturn · 08/09/2021 21:05

I made it through week one of c25k last summer. I don't think I can still get into that gym kit either... oh the shame....

shouldistop · 08/09/2021 21:44

I can't run Sad had a severe ankle injury a few years ago and it's knackered. Which is annoying as everyone I know who's lost a lot of weight or who are very fit always run.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 08/09/2021 23:11

Soooo....I just ate a corned beef sandwich. In bed.

Fat and classy.

WouldBeGood · 09/09/2021 02:12

😃

shouldistop · 09/09/2021 06:50

Weighed this morning, have now lost 7lbs in 10 days. Thank god for sickness bugs Grin it's been much slower since I stopped puking a few days ago though.

runningpink · 09/09/2021 07:39

Well done @shouldistop it wound have been easy to go off track to make up for being sick last week so amazing you have used the weight loss as a base to continue

Seeing the weight loss on the scales was a really good motivator to keep at it. Hopefully this weekend isn't a challenge, we have BIL birthday dinner - determined not to have a dessert as I'd rather save the calories for a couple of beers!

traintraveller · 09/09/2021 08:40

shouldistop congratulations!! On the weight loss, not the puking obviously.

WeeM · 09/09/2021 09:47

Can I join in?

I’m a stone heavier than I was during first lockdown-was doing a ton of exercise then as nothing else to do! Annoyed with myself now for letting it creep back on.

I’m doing 3 fitness classes a week, 2 cardio and 1 weights.

I’m not following any particular diet, just the ‘trying not to eat shite’ diet Grin. I’m also trying not to get too hung up on the scales but I wish I’d taken my measurements when I started.

Just had a sandwich with turkey rashers...was actually really nice.

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 09/09/2021 12:50

Ooh I used to love a BLT made with turkey rashers! So a TLT, I suppose Grin

ElephantOfRisk · 09/09/2021 13:41

I need shopping and didn't fancy what I had in so had a couple of slices of buttered toast and then was still hungry (obviously) so ate 2 brunch bars!!

Been a stressy morning though.

WouldBeGood · 09/09/2021 13:50

I like Turkey rashers too, and good for protein.

Those thin bagels are tasty too for 130 calories, wee bit of philly light and you’re away. They’re actually quite filling, so I just do a half for breakfast.

I also buy the small loaves of bread so I can truck myself by having two slices of toast for the calories of one. And they fit a poached egg perfectly

ElephantOfRisk · 09/09/2021 14:31

I used to do a cooked breakfast using those thin bagels. Toasted, one side very scrapingly buttered and add a poached egg, a few turkey rashers or those bacon bits where it's just the round bit (or sometimes low fat/high protein sausage), some mushrooms and grilled tomato. Feels really decadent. Then the other half bagel with a scraping of jam or marmalade and for you folks a cup of tea, for me some watered down fruit juice.

You can do a nice puffy one egg omelette in a mug in the microwave whish is tasty too.

shouldistop · 09/09/2021 15:38

How many calories are you all roughly having a day? I think I'm having about 1500. At a guess I'd think I'm probably burning around 300 at least breastfeeding.
I feel far too hungry if I eat any less than that and then end up wanting to binge so it seems a good level to stick at. I don't think I'll continue to loose weight at that once I stop feeding though. Unless I up my exercise.

WouldBeGood · 09/09/2021 15:50

You can calculate what you need to lose weight on my fitness pal. I’m allowed loads as I’m fat 😳

shouldistop · 09/09/2021 15:52

It gives me 1300 but doesn't take into account feeding. I found another calculator for breastfeeding that says 1700 so thought I'd split the difference.

ElephantOfRisk · 09/09/2021 15:53

There are all sorts of factors and there is a way to to calculate with quite a reasonable degree of accuracy what calories you need for you.

The more you have to lose they more you can afford to eat, once you get down to the last bit you really have to be on the lowest recommended which I think is 1200.

You are probably about right. Not an exact science but I think a rough 500 calorie deficit is about a 1lb a week.

Have you tried popping your info into myfitnesspal which will give you a bit of a steer?

traintraveller · 09/09/2021 15:55

I'm not sure on calories, it varies so I'd guess anywhere between 800 - 1200 each day. I don't eat breakfast though.

shouldistop · 09/09/2021 15:55

@ElephantOfRisk cross post Grin mfp said 1300, a breastfeeding weight loss calculator said 1700.
