Thought a wee separate thread would be handy to keep us all going and for the kick up the bums we need, tips and motivation

OP posts:

Good to hear about nice weekends away @runningpink and @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo ! Plus keeping up those steps!

I had PT again today, owing to a schedule change. Planning runs tomorrow and Thursday and weights Wednesday and Friday. And stick to calories after a lot of wine and cheese yesterday…. 😃

mapleleavesreturn · 03/05/2022 10:43

Hellooo!! would I cannot believe how much exercise you manage, impressive! Need to get back to it this week, weekends are always a bit calorie heavy but I'm still pretty happy that I'm eating actual food not snacks and wine!

I'm really seeing a dip in mask wearing in Edinburgh, hooray!

WouldBeGood · 03/05/2022 18:26

@mapleleavesreturn i enjoy it and have plenty time to do it which makes it easy. Well, I do not enjoy jogging uphill! Did wk4 run 2 today at lunchtime and back on the proper eating, good protein today too.

hope everyone is doing well!

mapleleavesreturn · 03/05/2022 18:35

Week 4 is amazing!!

WouldBeGood · 03/05/2022 20:02

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo is just about to finish!

NamechangeFML · 03/05/2022 20:05

Fudge fingers for me this week.
baby crisps
half portions
no booze
no cake
no takaways
no fun
but im 4 stone down.
so boring but it's working...
first week off the sugar was like coming off crack

i love my fitbit too. Makes me move.

mapleleavesreturn · 03/05/2022 20:10

Love my Fitbit too, it really helps remind me!

WouldBeGood · 03/05/2022 21:13

4 stone is so impressive @NamechangeFML !

NamechangeFML · 03/05/2022 21:26

@WouldBeGood yeah but im miserable! Thanks, tho!

id put too much weight on PP, and have a physician job - so i had to get back to a manageable weight. But sack this, forever!
im just posting to say it can be done, but itll be so booooooring.

WouldBeGood · 03/05/2022 22:07

Oh no @NamechangeFML sounds rubbish

Im calorie counting and losing slowly so I can eat anything. And drink, most importantly. I have a long way to go but looking on it as a change of eating now.

WouldBeGood · 03/05/2022 20:02

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo is just about to finish!

That elusive final run. I'd have finished if the covid hadn't got me! Going to try and get back on exercise and calorie counting tomorrow as I'm feeling much better and no more excuse for the excessive carb scoffing!

WouldBeGood · 05/05/2022 22:20

Come on people!

how’s everyone doing?

TeeNoG · 06/05/2022 07:44

After posting how well I feel I feel pretty crap this morning! I've been moving, eating healthily...... but no progress on the scales. I know it's not the whole picture, but I'd be hoping to see some movement in the right direction.

My plan now is to keep moving (I've joined the gym again too) and also do what I swore I would not do - calorie count 😆.

Downloaded MFP this morning and have entered my details - maybe I'll grow to love it?!!

Sending every one kcal free love!

WouldBeGood · 06/05/2022 12:22

That’s a bugger @TeeNoG . Calorie counting has worked for me. Still a long way to go but getting there.

i completed wk4 of the “running” yesterday, with a massive beetroot face. Having a day off exercise I think, as my legs are tired. Was going to go gym but a coffee and chat went on longer than expected..

mapleleavesreturn · 06/05/2022 12:58

No change in scales here this week BUT no increase either and given I've had kids off sick for two days, & poor sleep I'm feeling chipper about that! Joining a gym and pool this weekend because I expect to get good use of it over the summer holidays.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 06/05/2022 19:00

Hi! I've been suffering with post-covid tiredness so not back on the exercise yet. Have started calorie counting again though. Currently about 3 pounds heavier than the weight I got to before my holiday and would love to lose half a stone before the summer - that's my new goal.

Going to try some exercise at the weekend!

Good to hear how you are all doing - good luck with MFP @TeeNoG I only started consistently losing once I started counting, so I'm a big advocate of it!

TeeNoG · 07/05/2022 08:59

@WouldBeGood I'm with you on the big beetroot face. No matter how far I run, or how quickly, I always return with a big beetroot face and a scary vein trying to pop out of my forehead 😄.

Well done @mapleleavesreturn, no gain is great in those tricky circumstances. Hope the kids are better now.

Thanks @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. I'm slightly embarrassed after my moan yesterday, as on the scales this morning I am magically down 2lbs and I realised my period is due Blush. In all honesty though, logging my food yesterday was actually quite helpful, so I will continue and hopefully get to my first target before holiday.

WouldBeGood · 08/05/2022 13:30

Glad it’s not just me @TeeNoG 🤣

good news @mapleleavesreturn !

Hope you’re feeling better @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo

Another run today; what a struggle! Not sure large amounts of wine and bbq food last night was the ideal preparation, mind you! Did weights at the gym yesterday so exercise still going ok. I’m bloody knackered now!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/05/2022 09:37

Well done @WouldBeGood - getting out for exercise the morning after the night before is always an achievement! Better than slumping on the sofa with hangover snacks.

Right, I need to get back on course. Working from home today so the workout clothes are on, ready for a class later. Breakfast & lunch is logged on the app, and I have a large bottle of water on my desk. Here we go!

Good news on the scales @TeeNoG glad you found the counting helpful!

mapleleavesreturn · 09/05/2022 11:37

Can't believe you can workout hungover would - @TeeNoG having a food plan and log really helps, must do that this week!

WouldBeGood · 09/05/2022 12:16

The logging really does help, I agree. I’ve never done it until now and it’s not as terrifying as I thought. I also like that nothing is off the table. (Literally!)

Good luck @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo !

And keep it up @mapleleavesreturn snd @TeeNoG

How are you doing @runningpink ?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/05/2022 18:48

Bodycombat class done! Very red in the face but doable despite a few weeks off the boil exercise wise.

WouldBeGood · 09/05/2022 19:30

Well done @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo !

I’ve been a lazy cow today, with work and the weather… must nail it tomorrow

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/05/2022 19:43

It's still light, you could go walk round the block a couple of times... 😀

WouldBeGood · 09/05/2022 21:37

😳
