I think what they have allowed football to get away with is disgraceful full stop!
Multiple players openly flouted rules yet the mens game still got played (women's wasn't allowed til mid March...... 🙄)

Football fans time and time again are allowed to flout in masses not just rangers but also seen in England with clubs.

I don't get why it's one rule for football and their fans and another for the rest of us!

Celtic probably would have been out celebrating too.
The whole thing is a disgrace and the fact that govt seems set on allowing football to continue regardless (Inc in person attendance trials) when people are told they can't meet more then 6 soon to be 8 people outside is a disgrace.

Why should football come before families?!

Have the Rangers board released a statement blaming everyone else yet?

Just a reminder that it was Rangers fans who did this and the tarring of the whole of Scottish football with the same brush is. It warranted.

But that's the point, @Serpenta. Lots of us don't believe that this is Rangers scumbaggery.

It's scumbaggery in general, young men, congregating with other young men (and not so young men) to cause trouble.

All the what about Celtic, what about this what about that - doesn't matter. Football ACROSS SCOTLAND and across the UK in general attracts these sort of tribal idiots who in Scotland divide across sectarian lines.

And the posters saying how amazing Celtic and their fans are - well that's just perpetuating it all, isn't it? Celtic good. Rangers bad. Or on the other side, Rangers good. Celtic bad.

It's fucking medieval.

Well obviously not all teams are the same. A team like Queen of the South would be struggling to rustle up a dozen people to go on a riot in the middle of Dumfries. Celtic and Rangers have the biggest fan bases of Scottish clubs. But fans of similar sized clubs across Europe regularly cause trouble.

It's a young, male, football/tribal thing. It's not a "protestant Rangers thing".

I can only assume that the posters defending them are lucky enough not to have to deal worth them and their anti catholic bile. Their constant fighting amongst themselves and their bizarre need to piss in the street every few m in utes.

Of course it's a "protestant Rangers thing". Why else do they love singing 'Up to our knees in Fenian blood'? Why else do they get high on sectarianism.

Who's defending it? Not me, the behaviour in George Square is indefensible.

But I'm not going down the sectarian "rangers bad" route which a lot of Scotsnet posters seem desperate to lead us down. Football attracts a large toxic element. Rangers displayed that toxic element yesterday, it will be another club next week, next month, because that element exists in EVERY CLUB. When the Euros come to Glasgow and scotland play England, the toxic Scottish element will all band together against the toxic English element.

I want to know how many more times my catholic children are going to have to listen to these thugs singing this as they parade by my house before something is actually done about the sectarian behaviour at Rangers.

Every club has a "firm" element a core toxic part. Aberdeen is exactly the same it doesn't mean all are like it. There has been trouble in Aberdeen between Celtic in the past etc. It doesn't mean all fans are the same.

The anti Catholic rhetoric is abhorrent its not acceptable about anything.

But it's also right in saying if their is a Scotland vs England match that toxic element then gets against each other and its of a similar vein just the Catholic part replaced.

Football gets away with far too much for far too long just because it's "the beautiful game" 🙄

Loyalist thugs ran riot in the Shankill and Sandy Row in Belfast too...some of the photos were disgusting. The anti Catholic and anti Irish behaviour was like something from Hell. They were drunken, marauding beasts. And then they scream 'Respect our kulcher' (they actually spelled it like that).

Plenty people don’t want to hear it though as it doesn’t suit their “agenda”. Faux outrage at the big bad Rangers supporters while what happened at Parkhead is swept under the carpet.

Was there some disgraceful scenes yesterday at George Square? Of course there was, no-one is denying it. But the reason is hardly just a Rangers problem but a west of Scotland as a society problem. Drink, drugs, gangs etc is a blight on the community as a whole and due to the sheer number of fans Rangers have compared to other clubs there will of course be elements of scumbags within the support.

It was only a few weeks ago Rangers fans were outraged(rightly so) about one of their players being racially abused.
Those same fans stood in the town centre yesterday singing about fenian blood and killing all Catholics.
