Just in case railing remains required.

It's another day faced with kids and trying to entertain them. Toddler going through a delightful tantrum phase so that's fun. She's currently refusing to put trousers on so that's smashing

Now that sick feeling waiting until 12 for no doubt nothing of note that will make a difference

dancemom · 13/04/2021 11:13

I don't know if I can listen to her drone on about how positive the numbers are but how we still have to be cautious 😩

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 13/04/2021 11:17

Oh I feel your pain @dancemom and if JL is there it's always 10 times worse. 20 mins of waffle then you can meet 7 people outside but only if you wear purple and it's a sunny Tuesday or some such shite like that

runningpink · 13/04/2021 11:19

As much as I hate all of this I also don’t like the surprise announcements, they send me into a panic whether good or bad.
I don’t hold out much hope of anything significant, it will just be spun to make it look like she is giving us a reward

dancemom · 13/04/2021 11:21

I think she had to do a briefing given how low the numbers have been recently but I doubt there will be anything significant, I'm so used to being disappointed now

ResilienceWanker · 13/04/2021 11:30

Agree about the surprise announcements. Though I don't think the Tuesday briefing in itself is a surprise... that just seems to be when she does them in purdah. If there's a leak about bringing forward reopening, then, yes, that is a surprise.

Actually, I bet it's about the Edinburgh festival going ahead. Wahey... Which presumably means quarantine hotels etc and travel bans will be history by August, which is something.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 13/04/2021 11:33

@ResilienceWanker she has tweeted about pulling forward some stuff for health and well-being. I expect me and NS have different views on what that constitutes but I can only hope

WouldBeGood · 13/04/2021 11:35

Thanks all and sorry to hear you’re feeling shite too @IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021.

It just shows the effects of all this, even just anecdotally on this thread on how people are struggling.

Gyms would be great. But i don’t want to hope

It appears the BBC are not showing it? That's rather strange. Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I will get there but need the resources to be available just need to hang on until they are.

runningpink · 13/04/2021 11:38

@IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 totally agree.

I think if anything letting us free from council area would probably help most people.

runningpink · 13/04/2021 11:42

A quick google suggests live on government Twitter page, I will keep looking though

She will have Gregor with her today

Haudyourwheesht · 13/04/2021 11:42

Politics live is on BBC 2 so it might be on there?

WouldBeGood · 13/04/2021 11:43

That’s true

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 13/04/2021 11:44

Oh brill thanks @runningpink I prefer Gregor much more balanced than JL who I personally feel is enjoying his platform a wee bit too much. We are due another advert from him also I seen it on Twitter

I know you have been struggling too Daffodilnearly there and we can get ourselves sorted after the clusterfuck that has been this year

ResilienceWanker · 13/04/2021 11:45
@ResilienceWanker she has tweeted about pulling forward some stuff for health and well-being. I expect me and NS have different views on what that constitutes but I can only hope
Ha! Yes, I know what you mean about different views! It's kind of sounding hopeful anyway, if NS herself is the leak.

Maybe removing the council area thing, given no-ones sticking to it anyway?

Still have pubs in the back of my mind, though. Blush A beer garden with access to a toilet sounds nice to me at the moment.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 13/04/2021 11:48

@ResilienceWanker that would be the absolute dream. Pub grub and a big glass of wine 🍷 and people who are not my children 😂

ResilienceWanker · 13/04/2021 11:51

Grin Maybe the announcement is free babysitting services for all parents to give them an afternoon in the pub. That'd get her my vote, frankly... Wine

Icannever · 13/04/2021 11:51

I think it will be meet more people outside as even Northern Ireland let’s you meet more people outside already and everyone’s doing it anyway.

I hope it’s all travel restrictions within the U.K. lifted but that’s just a dream.

I’d also love for holiday accommodation and pools to open although it would be annoying also as mine are now back at at school 😬
Sorry your having a crap time @IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021. I think having a toddler would be horrendously hard for the last year. Hope you get something announced that helps you today 😕

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 13/04/2021 11:53

@Icannever thanks. She's currently shouting because her sister has smarties. She also has smarties but her sister isn't to get any. It's a joy 😂

Pools would be brilliant. Can take the kids and then I could go at night.

Scottishskifun · 13/04/2021 11:57

Let's hope it's a release out of areas and pools/gyms!
Do you think they realised we are fed up watching England get freedoms back whilst being told not to do things just because we can followed by photo opportunities of politicians doing just that..... 🙄
Sorry in a grump today covid recovery is slow and frustrating whilst my DH had a mild case and bounced back I manage a few hours out of bed to then feel like I've been hit by a bus! Dr told me 4 weeks was normal for moderate cases..... Great 🙄

forfucksakenett · 13/04/2021 12:00

@Scottishskifun England may be getting their freedoms back but Boris, mixed message king extraordinaire, has been warning folk to be extra careful because according to him and his scientists the low numbers are as a result of lockdown and not the vaccines.

Great. Go out but don't go out. Open shops but try not to shop.

At least our messaging is clear.

forfucksakenett · 13/04/2021 12:00

I hope gyms and council areas opening.

runningpink · 13/04/2021 12:01

@WouldBeGood is it worth a new thread now before we all start ranting? This one nearly full

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 13/04/2021 12:02

Anyone managed to get it on? It's not on Twitter yet

runningpink · 13/04/2021 12:03

I’m out a walk, totally didn’t get lost! 🤦🏻‍♀️
So can’t help with being able to view it at the moment
