Just in case railing remains required.

Oh I thought we were ok to be political in railing but not so much in tiering - or have I got that the wrong way around Wink?

titsintiers · 25/03/2021 12:52

I think we can be political here.

Rae36 · 25/03/2021 12:58

Can I rail about how fucking hard it is to buy clothes online for growing kids?
I ordered so much this week for my 3 kids and most of it is going back because it's s all weird sizes. It's so depressing and hard. How can kids clothes not be an essential item? As if life is not hard enough now I have to mess about with returning clothes. It's too much.

WouldBeGood · 25/03/2021 12:59

Political is fine I reckon, either way 😃 Only rules are no attempts to tell railers why they shouldn’t rail; resilience wankery; or parent club stuff 😂

Railing most likely against the government I suppose as they’re in charge.

You know what gets me about the NHS pay rise?
They set their faces against the proposal just the other week to raise wages for careworkers. The logical inconsistency is annoying me.

I hope they see sense on schools. If they don't get S1-S3 back full time after Easter then I would bet it a racing certainty that the Parks will be over run with them. Everyone else getting back to normal and leaving them abandoned is enough to turn anyone into a reprobate.

SempreSuiGeneris · 25/03/2021 13:03

Rae I second that. My DD is starting to look decidedly "lived in" as are all her friends.

RaindropsSplashRainbows · 25/03/2021 13:03

Just don't tell me not to moan and all's good.

WouldBeGood · 25/03/2021 13:03

Sums it up @RaindropsSplashRainbows

Yes, how can they argue clothes and shoes are not essential, especially for children! Properly fitting shoes are so important, I’ve sent back so many pairs that don’t fit my 5Y0 already. I have a dodgy foot too and need some decent trainers as current pairs are causing a lot of pain Angry

Grin

(Still one of the best names around just now)

Scottishskifun · 25/03/2021 14:37

My rail today is test and protect.... 2 year old is a contact through his nursery bubble they asked if we could isolate him with a designated parent..... Ummmm no as we both have to work from home and we only have 2 bedrooms I'm not confining a 2 year old to his room for 8 days! 😂

It seems so hit and miss who you get on the phone!

God, yes. I ordered 4 pairs of shoes last week in varying sizes and styles because DS waited until the day before going back to school to say "my shoes are feeling a bit tight" even though I'd ASKED him directly the previous week and he'd said they were fine. He has PITA feet so its normally tricky even when he can try them on. All had to be sent back. Ordered 3 more in a combination of the right bits, and one of those was OK, so he does at least have shoes now. But it was so much more difficult than it had to be. School is v relaxed at least. They've been wearing their slippers in the classroom because the playground is a mud bath, so they need "indoor shoes" for indoors. Wish I could have worn my slippers at school.

Mind you. In an effort to smarten myself up a bit for normal life, I've just ordered half a dozen bras because all my old ones are horribly uncomfy now after a year wearing nothing but vest things and having put on substantial heft so I'm expecting to do the whole sending them all back thing myself too.

The whole buying clothes online thing is railworthy.

When ds had to isolate last year, the person on the phone saw no issues with leaving him in his room by himself 24/7 for 10 days. I could leave food outside the door apparently. He was 5! Pretty sure in any other set of circumstances that would result in a visit from Social Services. I think it's yet another example of them not properly considering young children.

I made the mistake of letting 2 year old dd choose some new clothes in the supermarket. Everything is sickly pink and covered in "cute" which is another rail in itself. Basically a whole aisle of different shades of pink with a bit of mustard chucked in covered in unicorns, cats and Peppa sodding Pig.

WouldBeGood · 25/03/2021 15:17

That's nuts about the test and protect stuff!

@Dinosauratemydaffodils ah, I remember those days when shopping with DD 😂

Just checking in.
The test and protect rules are nuts for kids. Seriously bonkers.

I want to know of the numbers of people/ children who are asked to self isolate, what percentage of them eventually end up with covid?

cyclingbear · 25/03/2021 16:00

Another one who has ordered a pile of bras and fully expecting to return them all.

I can’t even go and get fitted when shops open due to the bloody stress of masks.

Wonder how many attempts I will have at finding some

shouldistop · 25/03/2021 16:06

Bra railing here too. My boobs are huge and I'm breastfeeding. They've changed size so much with pregnancy and feeding, I could really do with being professionally fitted.

titsintiers · 25/03/2021 16:31

Not sure where to start with this one...,.

I think if you get someone who doesn't have children then they follow the script regardless of how bonkers it sounds!

This is our 3rd isolation last 2 times not a single other child or adult got it the other times hoping it will be the same this time but did a test anyway.

What the actual is that supposed to mean? All hail NS the inventor of logic???
Scottishskifun · 26/03/2021 01:20

Well my rail at 1am is testing positive for covid alongside my whole family.
Thankfully DS has zero symptoms my DH so far has a bit of a sore throat and I am by far the worse with cough headache and feeling like my lungs are on fire (also asthmatic).

Definitely no rule breaking in the last 2 weeks was picked up by my DS from his nursery bubble.
Now just a waiting game and keep using my oximeter a few times a day to monitor.
Oh and the joy of speaking to test and protect again!

WouldBeGood · 26/03/2021 02:30

Oh, no @Scottishskifun, hope you feel better soon.
