I have just GOT to tell somebody!

I have been married 8 years and was told before the marriage that I could never have children. So no contraception for all this time. But I missed my last two periods and the doctor told me today that I am 100% certainly expecting a baby!!

My husband is currently on a plane to Singapore but he now knows the brilliant news. Mumsnetters can be the second to know bacause I have lurked her for so long.

I am so excited!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS

My 'will never have children' is currently 22 months old and is trying to drag her 3 week old sister across the floor.

sparklyblack · 22/06/2010 12:46

Massive congratulations!! Sounds like you've got a lovely DH too.

mrsfred · 22/06/2010 12:53

Fabulous news! Congratulations to you and your DH. You must be thrilled.

My cousin was told it was unlikely she would ever conceive naturally .. she has two boys, both very happy accidents.

13 weeks already! It must be hard getting your head round that!!

FabIsGettingFit · 22/06/2010 13:01

The best thing I have read in a long time on here by a mile .

flooziesusie · 22/06/2010 13:45

Huge congratulations!! I love reading good news!!! Such a wonderful time for you and your DH. Enjoy, enjoy, ENJOY!

PollyLogos · 22/06/2010 14:01

One of the best threads I've read on mn!! Congratulations to you and your lovely dh!

darcymum · 22/06/2010 14:06

Thanks for coming back Pitterpatter2, 13 weeks, sounds like time to spread the news! I'd love weekly updates, your thread makes my day.

Soapsy · 22/06/2010 14:14

So lovely to read a good news story for a change (and to see how many others have had babies when told they couldn't)

Like someone else said, makes me feel grateful (and slightly ashamed for complaining about) my over-fertility, and keeping getting pregnant while supposedly taking precautions!

Flisspaps · 22/06/2010 14:29

Congratulations, what lovely news

Congratulations!! Wishing you all the best.

My best friend was told she couldn't have children, had IVF booked. They went on a holiday before IVF to relax beore the merry go around and came back pregnant (with triplets!!).

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 22/06/2010 15:10

What a lovely thread

Congratulations! I'm sure you know this but make sure you're taking vitamin supplements that are suitable for pregnancy (the ones without vitamin A in them).

You must both be walking around with enormous s

It's so nice to hear good news.

Tras · 22/06/2010 15:15

13 wks and you didnt know you were pregnant!!! I'm sooo jealous. That was the hardest bit, but after your experience you deserve it. I am so pleased for you and your husband. Congrats

What a lovely, lovely story. Very for you, pitterpatter

ILoveGregoryHouse · 22/06/2010 15:29

Just lovely. Congratulations. And you should be having your first scan pretty much as soon as it can be organised so will get to see your baby very soon.

dinkystinky · 22/06/2010 15:37

How lovely. Congratulations Pitterpatter

strandedatsea · 22/06/2010 15:45

Congratulations - I particularly liked the part about your Dh sending flowers from Singapore airport, how lovely.

I hope you are enjoying your pregnancy and the scan goes well. (getting misty eyed at thoughts of first scans for first babies - is there anything more exciting?)

Jux · 22/06/2010 16:21

Great news! Congratulations. Hope everything goes really well for you.

SherbetDibDab · 22/06/2010 16:26

Congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy.

Pitterpatter2 · 23/06/2010 08:37

My scan is on Friday.

All this baby stuff seems like one of the most exciting and important things I have ever done. I so want to feel the baby move inside me but that is not for a few weeks yet.

Both sets of parents are pleased, excited and surprised. Particularly my Dad who doesn't normally talk much about feelings.

That is brill Pitterpatter - the best time of your life coming up. I was told by a top medical expert in Houston Id never have anymore after my first two followed by ectopic, tube removed, 1 ovary removed remaining tube blocked - then proceeded to have 5 more just to show him!

Pitterpatter2 · 25/06/2010 16:02

I have seen my baby!
I have seen my baby!
I have seen my baby!

The baby looked as if it was moving quite a lot but I still cannot feel anything inside me. The picture seemed a lot clearer than I had expected so that was nice.

DH came with me and he looked so emotional when he saw our baby that it really surprised me.

My Mother (a lapsed Catholic) lit a candle last night in honour of St Jude. St Jude is the Patron Saint of lost causes!

That's so lovely! Congratulations!

LadyThompson · 25/06/2010 16:09

This is ace. Thrilled for you!

You won't feel anything yourself inside for yonks, probably - I think the earliest is about 18 weeks? Anyway, enjoy!
