I have just GOT to tell somebody!

I have been married 8 years and was told before the marriage that I could never have children. So no contraception for all this time. But I missed my last two periods and the doctor told me today that I am 100% certainly expecting a baby!!

My husband is currently on a plane to Singapore but he now knows the brilliant news. Mumsnetters can be the second to know bacause I have lurked her for so long.

I am so excited!!!!!

Congratulations.Wishing little Jasmine a lifetime of health and happiness.

blueberrysantabait · 15/12/2010 21:52

Yay you are home. Do you feel like someone is going to come and ask for their baby back at sometime? I remember with DD the first time doorbell rang at home thinking it was someone who was going to want her back from me.

Enjoy her.

congratulations on the arrival of Jasmine
Such a lovely thread to read and hopefully it will give hope to others x

Pitterpatter2 · 18/12/2010 13:49

Baby Jasmine slept right though from her 11PM feed through to 5:45AM this morning.Smile

I woke up with a jump when she started making noises and I was shocked when I realised what the time was. It does make a difference when you can get a decent undisturbed sleep and I have been very lucky.

My Mum was always taught to talk and sing to the baby during the daytime feeds and to keep the late evening ones much quieter. Well it worked with me - I slept though from 2 weeks and for Jasmine who did just as well.

Mum and Dad have gone home now and it just the three of us for a few days. I never, ever thought I would say that!

What lovely news. Enjoy every minute with her.

Pitterpatter2 · 23/12/2010 15:15

Jasmine is currently lying on her changing mat staring up at her Dad. I am lying on the sofa staring in quiet wonder at the two of them.

After a couple of restless nights Jasmine slept though unto 6:35 which pleased the rest of her family.

DH just gently hugged me this morning while lying in bed and as soon as his hands went anywhere interesting my breasts started to leak. What is that all about then oh body of mine?

Congratulations, I have lurked on your thread from the start and only just found it at the bottom of threads I'm watching. Many, many congratulations to the Pitterpatter family, have a fabulous Christmas together. I bet if you think back to this time last year you would never have imagined today! (and oh yes, the leaking breasts thing is insane, I once shot DS1 in the back at arms length getting him up for a night feed, gutted 'cos then I had to change his babygrow as well as feed him!)

Pitterpatter2 · 30/12/2010 18:51

Baby Jasmine is 3 weeks old today. She is still being a really easy baby to cope with as she sleeps through for 11PM to 6AM most nights and doesn't seem to cry very much.

We both had an extra check up today with a trainee helping and we are fine. I find breast feeding Jasmine is a wonderfully emotional experience. I love looking at her little face. My Dad got a bit embarassed by breast feeding but I told him not to be silly and that I didn't mind. He is my Dad after all!

I also find breast feeding to be physically really nice, quite tingly "down there" but this doesn't seem to be in the books and I didn't think to ask today.

Jasmine had lots of Christmas presents but didn't send any. Oh dear!

Jasmine and I had our six week check up yesterday. Everything is going fine for both of us which is a relief.

This time last year I would have bet a king's ransom that I would not have had a baby of my own. It all goes to prove that you just never can tell. Grin

I would really like to say something nice about my DH. He has been a wonderful support to me from day 1 and I am sure he is going to be a great Dad. Like me this time last year I think he had given up on any idea of becoming a parent.

(Might be TMI to turn away now). He has never once pestered me for sex but last night when I made the offer he was very keen indeed. So was I. Jasmine just had a sleep!

It is probably time to end this thread now. So many thanks for all the kind things readers have said to me.

Bye!!

Goodbye and thank you so much for sharing.

dejavuaswell · 22/01/2011 17:38

Good luck - I have enjoyed reading a good news thread for a change.

Bumbleconfusus · 22/01/2011 23:03

I just read this thread start to finish, its really lovely. Congratulations!

Pitterpatter2 · 30/05/2011 16:49

Time for an update I think. Jasmine is so lovely I could eat her! I might be fooling myself but I think she recognises her name, she seems to respond to it.

She seem to make lots of noise but hardly ever cries if you see what I mean. Her favourite toy is a jam jar lid which she loves to bang on my head. She loves rolling around and lying on her tummy which makes visitors laugh.

DH is also fit and well and starting to get used to me being a SAHM, at least for a while. The Courts will still be there where Jasmine and I are ready. Not yet though!!
