I have just GOT to tell somebody!

I have been married 8 years and was told before the marriage that I could never have children. So no contraception for all this time. But I missed my last two periods and the doctor told me today that I am 100% certainly expecting a baby!!

My husband is currently on a plane to Singapore but he now knows the brilliant news. Mumsnetters can be the second to know bacause I have lurked her for so long.

I am so excited!!!!!

congratulations!!! What lovely news! my best friend has grade 4 endometriosis and has been told she'll never have children naturally. They've tried and failed with IVF and I've always hoped one day she'd call me with similar news, you've given me a bit of hope

The biggest bunch of flowers you ever did see has just been delivered from my DH. The wonders of modern technology: from Singapore Airport to the local florist to my door in under 90 minutes.

I just got back from the public library. I had no idea how many books have been written on pregnancy.

Seriously for a minute when does the happy couple go public with their news? Both sets of prospective G-Parents will be thrilled

Woo Hoo!

I sometimes forget how blessed I am to be ridiculously fertile.

Tell people as soon as you like!

Fizzylemonade · 01/06/2010 18:41

Massive congratulations. You tell people whenever you feel you're ready to tell someone.

We told parents when I was 1 day over my period and had done a pregnancy test, waited till 12 week scan for more people.

My sister told everyone because she waited before and miscarried and no-one knew why she was miserable so she shouted it from the rooftops next time round.

I was told I would have major problems conceiving and would probably need IVF, 2 weeks after trying I was pregnant! Hoorah! Although to be fair had taken every drug and underwent surgery for endometriosis so my body was as healthy as it could be for conceiving!

dalek · 01/06/2010 18:52

Pitterpatter2 · 02/06/2010 15:27

To be honest I am feeling rather overwhelmed at the moment. After so long thinking I would never have a baby!

All the family have made the right noises and I am pretty sure they mean what they say. Telling people at work will be less exciting because they are mostly men.

I wish DH was here, even talking to him on the phone is not the same as in the flesh. He is very proud of himself
