took his credit card, and went. Wouldn't tell me if he was coming back, refused to take his mobile, told me to tell the kids what i wanted.

She - his mother - really is a piece of work! (First time I've ever had cause to use that phrase...)
At least he was able to tell you what his fears were - however irrational - rather than staying awol.
It does sound like you've had some very trying months. It's no wonder things have come to a head like this. But at least your problems are not internal (iykwim), it is just bad things happening to you all which have taken their toll.

God lou, only just seen this - so sorry! Glad he's come back, and hope you can talk and sort things out. Maybe him not seeing you while you're in Thailand will make him realise what he misses when he's not around you. Not much i can do, but if you need anything, or to chat, just let me know.

Oh lou, I hope things work out for you and your family. sorry, that looks so cliched when I read it but I really mean it - I was shocked and upset when I saw this thread just now and am relieved that some Mumsnetter were able to give practical help today and that at least your husband is back and the two of you are talking. All the best.

LOU - I have only just seen this thread and I haven't had time to read it all yet, but felt really upset and shocked when I saw it was from you. So sorry that I've not seen it earlier.

i'm shattered and so is dh, so all we have done is watch trashy tv. We haven't discussed anything else today, i think we have done enough for tonight. Bit at a time eh?
