Thanks @mummy917 Always happy to listen and support where we can. 🤗

TheMadGardener · 30/08/2026 22:06

I am sure he was quizzing your children - "what's mummy planning to do this weekend?" "Has mummy got a boyfriend?" He will hate it if he thinks you are moving on with your life without him instead of crying and begging him to come back!

Ihaveneedofwaternear · 30/08/2026 22:06

Following each update, OP, my jaw still dropping at each thing your exH does, and still impressed by your poise. Love the idea of the doorstep flowers 🤣

I just hope his mum shames him for the money he's pissing away on his tattoo when he's not paying his fair share of his children's essentials and relying on her for childcare for half of his time...

mummy917 · 30/08/2026 22:14

The doorstep flowers are a brilliant idea and one I may just do 🤣

I hope she puts things into perspective for him too about the tattoo but even if she does, he will never actually take it on board and do anything to change because he is never the one in the wrong 🙄

Yep. I was married for far too long to a man who has never ever in his entire life been wrong 😂😂😂

Methinks a new thread deserves a repeat performance.... Just because we can 😉

Oh crikey, another one? I need to do some serious catching up as I'm sure your other thread was only half way. You seem brighter though OP. Good for you Flowers

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 30/08/2026 22:41

Of course ' we ' are still here to offer our opinions and thoughts ' messages of hope, wisdom and general loveliness '.

I feel / believe some of ' us ' will be here for as long as it takes / as long as you need us.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 30/08/2026 23:06

I’m in for flowers and an exciting fantasy life for him to rage about.
What else could you do… <raps fingers>

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 30/08/2026 23:08

Oooh! Adult male shoes or hoody or similar, just inside the door.

I was thinking changing your best friend’s name to Matt/Dan/Tom or something similar in your phone and getting her to call you whilst he’s dropping off the kids. Your phone will announce Matt/Dan/Tom is calling, naturally you’ll just silence it quickly after it’s announced the name 😂

Sandunesandseashells · 30/08/2026 23:26

A complete change of hairstyle or hair colour usually discombobulates.

Woodfiresareamazing2 · 30/08/2026 23:34

Turn up on a Friday morning at 9.55am with a bag full of shopping, and have a pack of condoms on the top.

@mummy917

As far as his steamy ears when you neither confirmed nor denied a date....dog in the manger.

Men are such fuckwits. They tell you "I want out" and thenthey want you to smile and let them go without a scene. They want you to make it easy on them and relieve them of guilt. But if you do say "Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya" or if later on you start having a love life they simply can't stand it. No, you're supposed to let them go easy and then pine for them forever. Assholes.

The flowers are a good idea. I'd suggest rocking up at 10am with them looking like you've just done the walk of shame but that might be over-egging the pudding.

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 31/08/2026 00:49

The rehearsed version.
Open the door with the buttons done up the wrong way on your shirt, and hair all mussed up and some lovely perfume wafting... as Uber Eats delivers Coffee and Breakfasts for two.
The impromptu version.
Open the door beaming and eyes alight with excitement until you see its him.
Then look totally crestfallen and say in a dull flat voice.
"Oh.... It's you"

MaryBeery · 31/08/2026 01:38

Gratuitously placemarking

mummy917 · 31/08/2026 06:12

I absolutely love all of these 🤣

I think he’d probably be very sheepish if he thought there was an actual man in my house; he hates confrontation with anyone other than me so it seems.

Oh I think he shows his Mum a little bit of the same contempt he shows you, obviously nowhere near to the same extent, but still a little bit 😬. The more she does for him, the more he’ll show it.

He has put you through hell. At least now with the kids going back to school you won’t have to see him as often. As I assume it will go back to every other Friday and some early Wednesday mornings. I definitely think you should play with him on Twattoo day, when he drops the kids off. Be that flowers or something 😂.

Also as he’s obviously questioning your son, think of all the interesting, fun things you are going to have going on your childfree weekends 😂. Lots of nights out, dinners, days out… it will drive him mad that he’s effectively handed you back so much free time. We know you’d prefer to be spending it with the kids, but he doesn’t.
