Husband blocked me after he dumped me. What to do from here

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My husband left me out of the blue (we have 2 DD’s). He says he still loves me but he wants to forget me and move on. He has also said he wants to start dating but he doesn’t have anyone yet although he’s open to finding someone and remarrying and having more children. He then blocked me on WhatsApp so I can’t even call him about the children. I’m heartbroken I can’t stop crying. How can he say he loves me then block me and say he wants to move on. Surely if he loved me he wouldn’t be looking to be with anyone else? Also how can he block me when we have children. Please advise I’m on the verge of a nervous breakdown. How can he be so cruel. How do men do this I don’t understand how can he think he can just dump his family like we’re nothing and go start again. I’m a young mum by the way and I have no support at all 😭

He’s become besotted - ‘fallen in love’ if you like - with something. Not necessarily a person, though that’s most likely. He’s ’following his heart’ and it’s blinded him to everything else, including his responsibilities to you and his family.
i’m so sorry. You’ve had plenty of advice re. your legal rights. Try not to let resentment dominate your life, or the children’s’.

Geminispark · 28/08/2026 10:12

Sounds like a trick to get you to bring the kids over to Dubai then he snatches them and you’ll be screwed.

notanothernamesurely · 28/08/2026 10:15

You go to a solicitor right now and explain the situation. Financial and with the children. You take their advice to get what is rightfully yours! And you ignore him now - he’s shown his true colours. If he gets in touch you tell him to talk to your solicitor and nothing else. Disgusting human being!

Having now read more of the thread, I have to say his level of wealth, and your detailed knowledge of how it’s disposed, have a whiff of fantasy about them.

I agree.

TooWoop · 28/08/2026 10:54

Gosh, this is crazy! What is going on with him!? This isn't how you behave if you love someone and I wonder why he's gone full 360 on supporting you financially. Keep your solicitor updated on all of this craziness and take their advice. At least it seems you are financially secure.....imagine if this was happening and you were reliant on him financially.

He’s trying to lure her into pausing and not taking action.

@Annabel20 You cannot trust a single word he says.

Do everything with yourself and your DC in mind only.

He deserves nothing from you.

He sent a message through his sister saying he loves me and doesn’t want to lose me. He also wants us to go live with him. I have no idea what that means but the psychopath can forget about that. He is leaving me time to think and said he intends to pay the rent (5k a month) and send a further 3.7k a month for living costs and pay half the private school fees of my girls so 26k a year (basically he pays 1 child’s fees and I pay the other). I have no idea where he got these figures from but he said he will wait for me to decide if I still want him and do this in the meantime. I have already consulted a divorce lawyer and will file today although he has no idea about that

Wow. So many bills and outgoings in your name and all the credit and bank accounts in his name! Yikes. Hope the solicitor goes well!

Yes, he’s taken you for a complete mug and is still doing so.

Bobcurlygirl · 28/08/2026 13:44

So now he doesn't want to lose you once you have filed and seen a solicitor?? This sounds very fishy. Hope you have his previous messages saved.
I think he is, rattled ghat you have been do decisive th at you may catch him legally before he leaves.
Can I again stress the need to remove his sister from the conversation... He needs to make the offer to you in writing not some bush telegraph thing via his sister which he can deny.

I had no knowledge of these arrangements until I was required to sign paperwork for the sale of the house as I was living in the house and I needed to know what I was signing. I had always thought the house was in his name and as I married for love, money was never a topic that I asked about. When I found out he had taken the funds abroad I was very upset and suspicious about it but he reassured me that he would be repurchasing a house in England once we found the right one so I trusted his word stupidly. I am able to support myself and always have been able to so I didn’t care to know details of his financial arrangements. He had his accounts and I had mine and that’s how I wanted it. I don’t believe in joint accounts. I wish it was fantasy but unfortunately psychopaths like this exist.

Yes it seems so but I’m no longer in contact with him and he doesn’t know I have filed yet although he will shortly. His excuse was he never said he would not provide for the children financially and he would take care of them. I haven’t spoken to him directly though but he has spoken to both my family and his after they all found out the situation yesterday.

Is there anything to be gained in stringing him along for a bit? I formation you can get. A way to delay him moving? Paperwork you can get? Meanwhile continuing to act accordingly. He’s just trying to delay you.

Thanks yes I think that’s in line with what I’m thinking. He’s unaware of my next moves so I’m planning on surprising him

Is this a trick - to keep you hanging on in limbo and stop you starting the divorce process?
It doesn't sound like you're considering it, but be very wary of him trying to get you and the DC out there. You will not be able to bring your DC home without his permission.

You can't trust him.

Thanks no I will not be moving. He has changed his words completely and told his family and mine he is prepared to live wherever I want he just wants to stay married and be a family. He is insisting he loves me and there is no one else. His excuse was he was stressed and lost his mind for a few days and felt like he should escape but has now come to his senses. Apparently he was testing my love for him and was trying to make me jealous. Absolutely ridiculous and I will not fall for his games. I no longer trust, love or respect him and all I want is a divorce

You need an address to serve him with divorce papers, or to have a court official to serve in person, where hell actually be ie a place of work. He'll just say he never got them

Dorothyperky · 28/08/2026 09:51

Annabel let him send the money, it's for your children.
I'm so glad you spoke to a solicitor yesterday.
I hope you told your family too.

You have girls and it's very important you show them that you are a strong woman. If you have a few tears I suggest you say ' I will miss daddy but he's not being very nice and that's not fair on mummy'. No need for anymore.

Fwiw my aforementioned bff left her millionaire DH when her girls were 8 & 9. She never saw a penny as she was so frightened of him. He had tried to kill her so I understand that.
She's from a wealthy family and has had the last laugh. He didn't age well and only one daughter speaks to him. He doesn't get to see his DGD.
My friend has just bought a boutique hotel and he's fuming.

Thank you 🙏🏻 Yes I have told both his family and mine and all hell broke loose on him especially from his parents, brother and sister. My parents were also furious and he is incredibly frightened from my father’s response now. I’m glad your friend had a happy ending hopefully mine will be too

Thanks yes I arranged for them to be sent to his office during working hours. They will call his secretary with an excuse to make sure he’s in then they will surprise him

I dunno if this is worth reporting to the police as he may be a flight risk.

Maybe you should try get some money out of him now just incase. It can always go back to him in divorce proceedings.

I’d phone him and tell him to transfer the full amount into your account now to cover the rent and kids bills until they are grown (give him a figure). If he does that you might “think about taking him back but you have no interest in a situation where you are on the back foot forever wondering if he will pay you one month to the next”.

Hopeful his family threatened to disown him so that’s why he is changing his tune. Other that or the new woman didn’t fall for his bs.

SylvanMoon · 28/08/2026 14:52

I don’t believe in joint accounts.

Can I ask, why you "don't believe" in having a joint account with a married partner? Has this experience changed that belief at all?

MsPrufrockk · 28/08/2026 15:01

Ultimately, he's shown you who he is, and you're incredibly lucky to be financially secure (extremely wealthy, in fact, it sounds). So personally I wouldn't bother with trying to do anything, just block him and let him go through the official channels if he wants to see his kids.

I mean to be fair, it’s a good thing she didn’t believe or he would have drained that too.

And she’s smart not to have joint account with someone like him. All women should keep their own money separate imo. Either earn your own money and keep it separate or have him pay you a monthly amount into your account if he’s the wage earner. Take no chances. Too many men on here drain joint accounts and bolt.

you are so strong. sending hugs.

Op I read that you have the birth certificate and passports of both your children with you. I would advise you to get them out of the house asap. With your mum or a friend but if he has keys to the house then he could get them easily.
