A follow on from my previous 3 threads; “my husband said he wanted to split up and I’ve been totally blindsided”.

You’re doing so well. Xx

PeachBlossom1234 · 09/07/2026 19:13

I'm so glad today went well for your DD, I was a little worried she would want to come home but it sounds like you handled it like a boss. Co-parenting isn’t easy but my advice is pick your battles, and as long as you keep your kids at the centre of everything then they should be fine.

You’re doing great

mummy917 · 09/07/2026 19:13

Thank you so much. Definitely still having wobbles but doing my best to sit with them and try to move past them xx

Thank you! She did get upset when it was time to go back with her dad and all I wanted to do was scoop her up and take her home with me. She was so brave though and I got a big kiss and cuddle when she left 🥹

This is the song link. But if we could be mindful not to fill up ops thread talking about it. You can just smack a react button in reply and it’ll let me know instead. Thank you everyone who let me know you enjoyed it. Glad to be of service haha.

I've been following along without anything to really add, until today when I saw a "there we are then" in the "wild" when someone was responding to someone being a twat on social media 😆

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 09/07/2026 19:25

Don’t forget the Clarksons farm is sad! Not a light and fluffy watch.

mummy917 · 09/07/2026 19:34

Yeah I’ve been pre-warned it’s not the best ending but after There We Are Then took the tv when he moved out, from what is now my bedroom, I’ve been and bought myself one today and want to celebrate by watching it in bed with some Pepsi max and snacks 😃 it is also the last thing I needed for my bedroom to make it fully “mine” now. I’ve completely transformed this room since we broke up.

If that’s the last episode of the current series then the real time update is much much better and filming has started on the next series

That’s really good. It’s totally yours!

Woodfiresareamazing2 · 09/07/2026 19:37

Love that you have a wonderful relaxing space that is just YOURS! Enjoy your bedtime viewing and snacks. 😊

Daisymail · 09/07/2026 19:39

Glad you had a lovely day!

raspberryrisotto · 09/07/2026 19:43

That’s wonderful! I had such a sense of relief when I chopped up EH wardrobe, put up my own pictures and built my own set of drawers. It’s so nice to have a space that is completely yours, and yours alone.

enjoy!

Thanks for the new thread. So glad it went well for your daughter and you today.

lessglittermoremud · 09/07/2026 20:09

So pleased that today went well, and your little one settled when it was time to go back with her Dad. Im sure that most have really pulled at your heartstrings.
Have a relaxing evening enjoying your snacks and new TV!

Quamarina · 09/07/2026 20:12

Well done on the bedroom
transformation. I was astonished at how nice my room looked without my ex and his junk in it, I’d never seemed to be able to keep it organised and really used to get annoyed with myself about the mess. He left, I did it up how I’d always wanted it to look and mysteriously it stayed tidy too with no effort

Lsquiggles · 09/07/2026 20:26

I'm so glad you've had a lovely day celebrating your daughter and can now relax a little with your home comforts, you really do deserve to decompress after how strong you've been throughout all this! Sending you positive vibes and extra bubbles in your Pepsi max 🙏😂

mummy917 · 09/07/2026 20:28

It was honestly the same in my bedroom; it never ever felt like a bedroom as he constantly had it filled with his crap. We also had a Superking bed (his choice again) and it completely swallowed up the room. I now have a Kingsize and it’s made it so much more spacious and I’ve gone with all neutral colours, it’s very relaxing ☺️

It was so hard to watch her go back with her dad even though I knew it was the right thing to do because it’s his time with them, but every maternal instinct in me just wanted to bring her home.

HE TOOK YOUR TV????

I didn’t think I could hate him any more than I already did 😆

Lostpassporthelp · 09/07/2026 20:35

@mummy917 I’m so glad today went well and you and your daughter had a lovely time. Have you FaceTime-ed the children tonight, I’m sure she has settled down now? I hope seeing her upset makes Twattoo feel some guilt There We Are Then.

He took the one we had in our bedroom and I kept the one in the sitting room. That was also something that swamped a lot of space in the bedroom as it was huge. I’ve bought a much smaller one now thankfully ☺️

No I haven’t, I didn’t want to unsettle any of them and especially my 4 year old again, after she initially didn’t want to go back with her dad. He didn’t really react when she got upset about going back to his, just tried to reassure her which was actually nice to see.
