Ghosted after a great first date. Best response?

I had a first date with a man off hinge on Saturday afternoon - we had coffee and then walked round an illustration fair. The whole time we were laughing and talking animatedly and seemed to have a lot in common. At the end of the date he pulled me into a bear hug and said “see you again soon”.

I texted him that evening to say “Great to meet you, what a fun afternoon!” but he didn’t reply and it’s now Tuesday. I think I’ve been ghosted.

I feel like sending a final message, something like “Ghosting in your forties? I only date grown men: good luck with your ongoing search 👋 ” before blocking him but I’m not sure if I should do this.

My reasoning is that I think ghosting is crap behaviour and people who ghost should be called out on it.

Any advice very welcome.

Seriously, the best thing you can do in future is block and delete them That will hurt them more than any words about ghosting could.

And this is why you are fuming - you think you are better looking than him so you are pissed off he’s ghosted you. I get it but seriously do not message him.

So you went from 'great first date' to 'ordinary ... wouldn't look at twice' ... just leave it.

What he said is akin to the 'we should do this again' many use in social situations when they have no intention of seeing that person/those people again. Messaging him will achieve nothing.

I had a similar experience recently. I think some men like to give the impression that they're interested to see what response they get, but it's just an act.

I wish I lived closer he could come to me! I’d much rather spend Christmas with a labrador than a dick of a boyfriend.

But I have to agree with others - the dog wasn’t uninvited, He was never invited in the first place and it’s their prerogative to not have dogs in their house. As much as I don’t get people who don’t like dogs there’s nothing you can do about this. There must be dog sitters near you but be prepared to pay extra especially as it’s Christmas.
