Help me figure out his job.. lighthearted !

I'm chatting to a man on line.

In a sea of sleaze and creeps , he has been Interesting , witty and comes across as clever.
We'll chat again later but in the meantime I'm trying to figure out what he does for work! Lightheartedly !

He is very cagey about his work but Has said, in context, that he is well used to 'nasty people' all the time in his work, he works at weekends, his bio says professional and has a masters degree. His bio also says that he's happy to share photos but not on the actual dating app, due to his job.

His job can be very busy , very quickly or very quiet.

He's recently moved from one major city to another for this job and is waiting for an apartment to be ready. The apartment is in a very expensive area of that city , in a city where there is a huge scarcity of any rented accomodation and he is staying in a hotel for the last few months.

His job also involves night work.
Any ideas?

OP, it's not lighthearted though because you're genuinely invested in this made up job that some non entity on the internet with a made up life is peddling. Why did you even bother starting to talk to someone with no photos and no basic information? Nobody, NOBODY needs to be so precious about what their job is. The actual spooks etc obviously have a fake job they trot out. Nobody should use online dating sites if they can't even put photos of themselves on. And ANYBODY with no photos, no basic information that could identify them, and who claims to live in a hotel like Alan Partridge, should even be on your radar! What are you doing?!

Ex security forces? My former NDN was ex army and earned a lot of money in private security here and abroad.

@2cubed I've known quite a few police and prison governors and they aren't likely to be living in a hotel waiting on a swanky apartment. I'm definitely going with ex forces and private security Grin

Yes, it is lighthearted. OP is just having some fun on this thread. She's admitted herself that her photos aren't up either because of the nature of her job. And she's made it clear she's not that invested as she's definitely not going to meet him until she has more information and knows who is and is more than happy to walk away if he insists on staying so secretive.
OP has repeatedly said this is a lighthearted thread, and 99% of posters who have commented have taken it as exactly that and joined in a fun way (with the obvious safety warnings as we care about her welfare as well).
TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS is entirely unwarranted and irrational. Go be a fun sponge elsewhere.

Seriously, all the clues so far are telling you he is laying the groundwork for being able to be absent at the drop of a hat, not because he has some BIG job but because he is a bull shitter somehow…of course he is going to be witty, respectful and intelligent- how else would he feel in an intelligent, independent woman like you.
