Take away to someone else address?

The other day, myself and my other half decided to order a take out Chinese from a place local but that we had from before but not for a while. The website auto saves the address and credit card similar to how just eat would. He passed me his phone to input my order, so I did then continued to checkout to find another address already on there, it’s his account, his credit card, but some one else’s full address, door number, street, post code. This address was a few estates away from us so not exactly a auto input from location services as it’s too far away, - I’d understand if it put on automatically next doors address or something. He brushed it under the carpet immediately saying “oh dunno why that’s there”
I memories the postcode and door number and obviously google mapped it to ensure it was an address. I even drove past the house, a mini parked outside, flowers in the window, so it’s actually a place.
Has he previously ordered a take away there or is this a simple technical error? Should I be worried?

Do you have access to his emails? My Chinese allows me to order online too, and when I order it sends me an email with confirmation of my order… including the address I have ordered to.

If you can search the email with part/the full address, it may bring up the order confirmation from the time be used the address.. that will tell you the date he ordered. You could trace back to where he said he was that date…

So now with more context it seems you're totting up things in your own head. Can you check and see if the food was ordered on one of his tuesday nights, and if what was ordered is his preferred meals. It sucks when we know something is wrong. When my husband was cheating it was like an alarm went of and the daftest things would ring alarms with me.

Flowerpot101 · 31/08/2022 22:23

This sounds good - maybe I could send someone else on my behalf. I honestly don’t have the guts. Need a back bone!

I can’t access anything. He’s been going his friends for 15 years, if he ordered a take away, it would be to his friends address not this new address. There’s no one I know who could live there? Unless he has a secret friend. His friend is disabled hence why they all go there, and I know his mates address off by heart.

To be honest he is 100% private, can’t access emails, phone, bank statements, I don’t know passwords, he doesn’t even open letters at home he takes them work. It’s always been like that though so that doesn’t bother me, it just means I can’t snoop.

Can you say you want to order from there again, get his phone to look at the menu, then go into past orders?

This is something I’d bare in mind next time!! Good thinking. Hopefully he passes me his phone and doesn’t just ask what I want.

You could say that you’ve been worrying about the address on that app. Thinking it’s fraud. People are desperate etc. say you’re going to contact the Chinese and also go to the address. See what reaction you get.

Think this would be too dramatic!!

OP… If you can’t access phone on own, I’d do what a previous poster said.. bide my time.. suggest a Chinese again another night but say you wanna look at the menu.. it wouldn’t take long to check previous orders but the account needs to be logged in first.. so get him to start the order then “think I might change my mind actually let me have a quick look before you order..”

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 01/09/2022 08:33

If it's a site like Just Eat or similar they save the address where previous orders have been delivered from all take outs he's used so not necessarily the Chinese. You have to manually input the address the first time you use it.

If it's specifically the Chinese takeouts site then obviously it's been ordered to that address.

His reaction suggests to me that he knows he ordered to that address. Why is the question you need answering.

Flowerpot101 · 01/09/2022 08:42

Managed to get in the account. previous orders have been deleted. Credit cards and our address is still saved as we only ordered the other day but order history deleted. The other address has been deleted also (which I’d assume he’d of done that very day I saw) Too suspicious that! Thanks everyone. Glad to know that it’s unlucky to be a technical glitch and more likely that he has inputted this address!

Lol he’s covering his tracks now!

2catsandhappy · 01/09/2022 08:46

Has he a car with gps address stored in?

Next time he is at his friends house, phone him mid evening with a really good excuse ready and see if he answers straight away. Ask to speak to his mate and see if he is evasive.
It is probably innocent but I absolutely understand why you are curious.

blisstwins · 01/09/2022 08:48

Now you know….listen to your gut. His secretiveness is likely not just a trait, but a way of operating. Get your ducks in a row and remind yourself trusting is normal. Never let him make you feel like a fool.

ImSoMagical · 01/09/2022 08:54

Oh dear, that doesn't look good. 😳

category12 · 01/09/2022 09:04

Well most likely explanation is that he ordered a takeway from this house.

It's not family, it's not a friend you know, so that leaves us with ... other woman.

I mean there are other possibilities, but since he didn't just say "oh yeah, that's [colleague's] house we had a takeaway one time", it seems likely it's something illicit.

Tigerstigers · 01/09/2022 09:07

Go to the address and knock on the door. Just say you were told your parcel had been delivered there. Then ask if they know "Dave, Gary" (input actual husband's name.) Their reaction will tell you what you need to know, as will his when he gets home, and no doubt has heard from the other person what happened. Or if you've got someone close you can confide in, ask them to do it for you.

girlmom21 · 01/09/2022 09:08

Oh I'm sorry op - him deleting everything is bad!

autienotnaughty · 01/09/2022 09:17

Oh dear, I was leaning towards technical hitch or random explanation but it's definitely suspicious that he deleted the info.

CornishTiger · 01/09/2022 09:22

How far between friends and this address.

How does he get home.

Are you stuck in on these nights?

germsandcoffee · 01/09/2022 09:23

You know he's ordered to that address or he wouldn't be deleting things.
Now you need to decide what to do.

twoandcooplease · 01/09/2022 09:33

That's even more suspicious now
Can you access his emails to get an old copy of the receipt?

I’m stuck in on these nights yeah, his friends address is a 20 min drive and the opposite side of the city to this “unknown” address.

He normally leaves his car at his mates and taxis back, then I will drop his off to collect his car the next day from his mates (usually).
