The ick = game over?

I'm dating this guy and sometimes he says completely innocent words or phrases that make my skin crawl and completely turn me off him and I'm genuinely thinking about ending it. So petty of me but I literally can't get past it. Defo gonna die alone at this rate 😂

Anyone else get the ick over the most minor things?

(I know this is a zombie thread but love stories about the ick.)

When sexting, sent me a close-up of his tongue sticking out, saying he couldn’t wait to lick me

(he was never given the chance!)

I know this is an old thread but thank you to whoever resurrected it and thank you to everyone who contributed as it has truly brightened my day. I haven’t laughed this much in a long time!

it’s helped me put something in perspective- a year ago I ended my 20yr relationship and I’ve felt guilty all year for doing it when there has been none of the usual cheating or arguments - I’ve now realised it has been 20yrs of icks accumulating to the point of no return!!
and now I don’t feel guilty- I feel proud of myself for recognising the issues were too much for me to continue!! I deserve better.
i will post below the icks I’ve felt.

  • farting loudly and proudly anywhere and in front of anyone then confirming he wasn’t embarrassed by using phrases like “better out than in” & “oops that must have fell out”
  • whenever leaving a public toilet saying to the next man “you might want to give that a minute or two” then laughing.
  • In the car pointing out something but leaving his finger pointing for at least 5 minutes even when the conversation about it had ended.
  • whisking his instant coffee with a spoon for a solid minute as a normal stir isn’t enough. The sound of him whisking it infuriated me.
  • despite being a confident person- whenever we talked to a friend in the street he would make no eye contact with them whatsoever.
  • could go a fortnight without brushing his teeth (yet annoyingly his teeth were white, clean and healthy)
  • picks nose, puts finger into mouth then spits the bogie far.

there are way too many to mention, those are just off the top of my head.

I could cope with most of those, but the final one is grim. Enjoy your freedom 😀

I went on a date and the bloke as if I thought my 75 year old mum was still sexually active.
I didn't see him again.

Is the outdoorsy boy shorts? A lot of theatre tech crew dress like that as well. Usually in black though.
