My AirPods are where I thought they were. My husband isn’t!!

I’ve been reading mumsnet for years but not made an account until now. I can’t talk to anyone in RL and really need some advice please
My DH is on a golfing trip with a work friend in Portugal. I though I would do some housework today and was looking for my AirPods. I couldn’t find them so mentioned to DS that I didn’t want to spend time looking in case I’d left them at work.
He suggested I look on find my iPhone as that would show them. I’ve never used it before but once I reset the Apple ID I got in and saw they were in the house. ( I searched the kitchen and found them behind the pot I drop my keys and stuff in. )
I noticed that this app showed my husbands phone so clicked on it just for a nose
He’s not in Portugal. He’s in Spain!!!!!
Why the fuck would he lie about what country he he’s in unless there is something seriously dodgy going on. I watched him go from a hotel to a
Restaurant, then along the seafront, then back to the same hotel. It can’t be wrong. I can’t sleep. Is he with another woman?

If he's flying into Bristol, there are daily flights to and from Malaga. Portugal is only a couple of times a week - husband and I have ruled out Portugal as weekend get away in the past due to logistical difficulties.

And this could explain the reason for flying back from Spain.

Surely you’ll be able to see his location when he’s at the airport so you’ll know for sure then whether he was lying.

Maybe he’s flown into Faro and travelled across into Spain playing on various golf courses on the way. He may be flying back home out of Malaga. Most logical explanation!

How is he getting home from the airport? Text him and ask him what time he lands ? Go an hour before or even two and sit and wait in arrivals? Thermos etc make sure you look nice etc I’m sure you do and wait. When he appears with or without someone else just say I’ve got your things in the boot - do not let on his you know - leave him squirm and wonder how the heck you found out? Bin bag his clothes etc and any work stuff abd put them all in the boot if the car.

Surely nobody would do this in the real world unless they were 18 and could easily walk away from the relationship. Kids and mortgages make things a bit more tricky.

@BadDayForMe - what time and day did he say he landed in Faro? Because we can also check flights from Bristol at that time.

Sorry I got it wrong, That Jet2 flight is today. I thought he was due back today as the thread was originally posted last night.

I have looked for Monday and as other posters rightly said and @BulletTrain, there are only 2 flights tomorrow, early morning or late evening.

Presumably he’ll be playing golf today at some point so assuming he shows as being at a golf course at some stage today I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Sorry, haven't read full thread. Could he have flown in and out of Faro but planning on staying in Spain? I've flown to slightly random airports as a lot cheaper. Then it would make sense for him to say he's flying to Portugal. Did the friend organise the trip? If he was having an affair in Spain, why not just say he was golfing in Spain?

They're in contact on what's app all the time. Why wouldn't he say he'd gone to Spain for the day? Leaving the resort is something you'd say when talking about what you'd done that day. It's just not plausible.

Do you have contact details for the friend he’s meant to be away with other than Facebook? Or his wife? Message them and say I’m trying to get in touch with DH but he isn’t replying, just wondering if there’s a problem with his phone while abroad with you, could he use your phone or get him to ring me from the hotel please? (Rather than outright asking is he with you?)

I thought this but then if the two men aren't away together then the wife will tell the husband and the husband will alert ops husband thus showing her hand.

Assuming he has an iPhone get him to send you a picture.

Save the picture to your camera roll and swipe down- it will tell you the real location the photo was taken and at what time. For example if he sends an old photo you’d know as the date/time wouldn’t align.

I’ve caught some people out like this- people sending old photos passing them off as new…..

I agree, and Benalmadena is nowhere near Faro, it’s a 4 hour drive.

OP has said in a previous update she's learned from reading here that cheaters lie!

If they are there for golfing and the weather is rainy in Portugal , maybe they decided to go to Spain for better golfing weather. Doesn't explain why he wouldn't tell you that though !
