My AirPods are where I thought they were. My husband isn’t!!

I’ve been reading mumsnet for years but not made an account until now. I can’t talk to anyone in RL and really need some advice please
My DH is on a golfing trip with a work friend in Portugal. I though I would do some housework today and was looking for my AirPods. I couldn’t find them so mentioned to DS that I didn’t want to spend time looking in case I’d left them at work.
He suggested I look on find my iPhone as that would show them. I’ve never used it before but once I reset the Apple ID I got in and saw they were in the house. ( I searched the kitchen and found them behind the pot I drop my keys and stuff in. )
I noticed that this app showed my husbands phone so clicked on it just for a nose
He’s not in Portugal. He’s in Spain!!!!!
Why the fuck would he lie about what country he he’s in unless there is something seriously dodgy going on. I watched him go from a hotel to a
Restaurant, then along the seafront, then back to the same hotel. It can’t be wrong. I can’t sleep. Is he with another woman?
Wtf do I do?????
@ididntevennotice I just looked on that site but can just see loads of planes. I can’t think straight to find my way around it.
I guess it won’t be too outing to say he’s flying into Bristol tomorrow afternoon. Can someone see if there’s a flight from faro please
I can find flights from Faro arriving tomorrow at 09.40 (Easyjet) and 23.35 (Ryanair).

I can find flights from Malaga arriving at 12.10 and 14.55 ( Easyjet) and 23.25 (Ryanair).

That's per Skyscanner OP.

ememem84 · 27/03/2022 09:25

@EthelTheAardvark true it’s not a boarder hop. But if he flew into Faro airport then maybe an hour or so to hotel it’s not inconceivable that he went to play in Spain.

As I said DH has done the same. It was a long day. Up early travel to Spain play golf then travel back. But not impossible. Especially if he’s a keen golfer and the course is a good one/one he wanted to play at.

I’m not obviously saying the ops DH isn’t having an affair as the thread seems to suggest. But I’m saying it’s possible it’s just golf and dinner with a mate.

These are the flights from Malaga

@3luckystars

Ask him to bring you hone some Portuguese tarts, that you were watching Rick Stein and got a craving for some.
You can get them from lidl, that won't prove anything 😄

The only two flights from faro to Bristol tomorrow (as far as I can see) are 7am and 9pm

starynight63 · 27/03/2022 09:26

OP do you guys normally buy anything when abroad? A tea towel, key ring, fridge magnet etc? If so ask him to buy one!! If not say DC have asked you to get them a Portugal fridge magnet or bracelet etc. Watch if he try's to make an excuse. Other idea is get to Bristol airport for his arrival and see if he's with the friend? Say you came to surprise him!! X

BadDayForMe · 27/03/2022 09:26

Thanks for checking the flights. He said he will be home tomorrow afternoon so that doesn’t fit.
I hope his phone hasn’t alerted him I’ve looked.
I’m going to have to do something. I can’t go on like this until tomorrow.

Can you see anything from online banking? How did he pay for the trip?

Tuba437 · 27/03/2022 09:26

Only flights from faro to Bristol are 9am with easyjet or one that gets in at 11pm with Ryan Air.

Teasgonecoldagain · 27/03/2022 09:26

There is a flight from Faro to Bristol landing at 1 pm
Jet2.COM, Flight Number LS 1822

Oh OP I know your pain here. Years ago (before mobiles) I found out my boyfriend was on holiday with someone else by a total fluke comment by a mutual acquaintance. I can still remember the absolutely sick feeling in my stomach

SunnySummerSun · 27/03/2022 09:27

Can't you just look at the data by pressing the info button on the photo that he's sent rather than getting a whole new app for it?

Capricornandproud · 27/03/2022 09:27

So sorry you’re going through this. Did you sleep at all? What a wanker.

I travel in and out of europe and find the app reliable. I’m sorry but this stinks of lying. I would have an absolute rifle through his things before he gets home. If the app was showing him travelling along a seafront etc I doubt its wrong.

He may have got a notification or email to say you’ve seen it, but I doubt it. Also, if he’s lying, he’ll not tackle it head on when he gets in by asking. He’ll likely wait and see how the land lies with you first and not give the game away.

If you can access his phone or ipad you can view the trip history on his phone if theres a Timeline like in Google Maps. If he’s brave enough to lie about something this bloody huge theres no telling what he’s hiding. Whether he’s bothering to hide the evidence tho who knows! He can disconnect you following him FROM his phone - so if that happens you know you were right and this is suspiscious.

I would keep it casual and track him today. Maybe ask what time his flight lands blah blah, definitely check his passport later and if he’s cheating, monitor the app for a week or two. If you confront him, you’ll always be wondering and have no way of catching him in a lie.

Journeynotdestination · 27/03/2022 09:27

If you get the exif data you can find out the hotel he’s staying in

Xiaoxiong · 27/03/2022 09:28

Also, if he has ever shared his location or you know his Google login (or it's saved on any of your devices! you can check using Google as well, might help to corroborate (or not) the find my iPhone location (which is apple)

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 27/03/2022 09:28

My husband has done this. Assumed because he was flying into a specific airport that's his country of destination. He has turned "getting other people to organise the admin shit" into an art form and pays very little attention.

So he arrived into Geneva airport, withdrew £££ in Swiss francs and then got on a bus and crossed the border into France for his climbing holiday with some mates. He was a bit Blush and I have taken the piss for the past ten years! He certainly wishes he'd never admitted it.

People are doing all kinds of weird stuff at the moment to get around Covid entry rules at airports so if your husband isn't the trip organiser I'd be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

MarrymeTomHardy · 27/03/2022 09:28

Op, there are flights fron Malaga to Bristol tomorrow, Ryanair & EasyJet landing at: 11:25 : 12:10 & 14:55...

@pinkstripeycat

Passports haven’t been stamped for tens of years and even then they’d only stamp the book of one person in the travelling party
It’s a Brexit benefit as we’re now a 3rd country.

And if you travel further I’ve stamps in the last couple of years pre pandemic. USA, Ghana, Barbados

MangosteenSoda · 27/03/2022 09:28

Do you know anyone else (female) that’s currently holidaying in Spain? So your H said he’s going to Portugal to distance himself from that.

It’s really odd because it seems such an unnecessary lie. I’d guess the options are:

He’s away with an OW and has just lied about everything.

He’s gone on a ‘lads holiday’ rather than a golfing holiday, but thought a golfing holiday to his usual haunt sounded better.

He’s a complete space cadet and didn’t realise/notice the trip was to Spain rather than Portugal.

Hope it all works out ok for you OP Flowers

Sally090807 · 27/03/2022 09:28

Ask for his flight number

3luckystars · 27/03/2022 09:28

Can you see what hotel he is in?

Men don’t really go off for walks on the beach together after dinner. I’m sorry you are going through this stress. All the best.

toogoodforthisworld · 27/03/2022 09:28

@BadDayForMe
It's shit isn't it. I bet your stomach is in knots. Hope you got some sleep last night.
Do you know any of his golf buddies or their partners?
Have you thought about phoning the hotel he seems to be at on findmy - and I usually find that pretty trustworthy tbh- and asking to be put through to his room? You can hang up if he answers.
Try and distract yourself today xx

quicklybeingdrivenmad · 27/03/2022 09:29

I can see 2 flights from Faro tomorrow easy jet at 12.45 and ryanair at 20.35 (found them on departures on faro airport web site)
