My AirPods are where I thought they were. My husband isn’t!!

I’ve been reading mumsnet for years but not made an account until now. I can’t talk to anyone in RL and really need some advice please
My DH is on a golfing trip with a work friend in Portugal. I though I would do some housework today and was looking for my AirPods. I couldn’t find them so mentioned to DS that I didn’t want to spend time looking in case I’d left them at work.
He suggested I look on find my iPhone as that would show them. I’ve never used it before but once I reset the Apple ID I got in and saw they were in the house. ( I searched the kitchen and found them behind the pot I drop my keys and stuff in. )
I noticed that this app showed my husbands phone so clicked on it just for a nose
He’s not in Portugal. He’s in Spain!!!!!
Why the fuck would he lie about what country he he’s in unless there is something seriously dodgy going on. I watched him go from a hotel to a
Restaurant, then along the seafront, then back to the same hotel. It can’t be wrong. I can’t sleep. Is he with another woman?
Wtf do I do?????

@ididntevennotice I just looked on that site but can just see loads of planes. I can’t think straight to find my way around it.
I guess it won’t be too outing to say he’s flying into Bristol tomorrow afternoon. Can someone see if there’s a flight from faro please

Recently been to Austria and Paris. Both times had my passport stamped.
My cheating ex did something similar years ago, he’d told me he’d go to spain to his friend’s villa as that was the perfect excuse as they were going there regularly, occasionally myself too. He also sent me inconspicuous photos of beers and his tan lines but never an actual spot where i could recognise the place. This was back in 2013 when iphones already had all the location functions but people weren’t yet that aware of them. By accident i noticed that photos that he was sending me had location attached to them and the photos were located not in Spain but in Sicily. That’s how i found out the rest.
Do some little things start to make more sense now op?

Baxdream · 27/03/2022 09:17

Someone I know is on a golf trip in Portugal and said it's torrential rain? I can let you know where if it helps

MzHz · 27/03/2022 09:19

I was in Portugal last week.

Sent my ds a screenshot of where I was on Findmy

I was EXACTLY where it said I was. All the time I was there.

MimosaFields · 27/03/2022 09:20

@pinkstripeycat

Passports haven’t been stamped for tens of years and even then they’d only stamp the book of one person in the travelling party
Since Brexit, mine has got stamped everytime I leave Spain
MzHz · 27/03/2022 09:20

And yes, tipping it down over there this weekend

3luckystars · 27/03/2022 09:20

Move on from thinking he is in Portugal, he is in Spain. Find the hotel he is in and ring them.

BadDayForMe · 27/03/2022 09:21

@Baxdream he it was raining on Friday and brightened up yesterday. Not heard from him yet today

Just ask for his flight number for flight home.

Unsureaboutit9 · 27/03/2022 09:21

Can you not just ask for his flight details? I always have the flight details of my DH when he travels incase something happens to the plane of there are delays and I’m sure most people must do this so I don’t think it’d be seen as a really odd request.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 27/03/2022 09:21

Can you ask him the name of the hotel as you want to Google and see what it’s like? On Find My you will see the name of the hotel where he actually is and you can compare the two!
I’d screenshot locations and would be tempted to be in arrivals tomorrow afternoon

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 27/03/2022 09:21
@AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair yes grown ups use Facebook too! Sometimes they put photos on of them spending time with friends and family.
My point was if he’s having an affair or something there wouldn’t be pics of him with this friends! Op said he’d sent a photo of himself- has he sent any of him with his mates?
I don’t understand the golf references and my post wasn’t about identifying golf courses but well done you.
There's no reason to think that he's not been playing golf so what would a photo of him on a golf course prove? And if there aren't any photos what would that prove?

I don't understand the assumption that he'd post on Facebook or what the OP could tell from the photos or lack thereof

Anyway it's moot now as we know he's not a Facebook user

supercali77 · 27/03/2022 09:22

Ah right yeah if he's been before there's a reason to lie (if he is)

Its the restaurant and beach walk that stands out as.... really wrong

Looks like there's a couple, one early morning and one late evening. What time did he say he gets to Bristol?

WeAreTheHeroes · 27/03/2022 09:22

Direct there's an easyJet flight departing Faro at 7am tomorrow and a Ryanair one just before 11pm.

BulletTrain · 27/03/2022 09:23

There is but only landing at 9.40am and 11ish pm.

Newuser82 · 27/03/2022 09:23

I hope it proves to be some kind of mistake. Can only imagine how you are feeling.

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 27/03/2022 09:23

@BadDayForMe

I can only see arrivals in the next 24 hours on the airport website. He said he will be back tomorrow afternoon
You can search a flight finder app like Skyscanner to see flights between Faro and/or Malaga to your local airport(s) tomorrow.

It's possible he really did go to Faro, and has then gone on a mini-break within his main holiday. I think you'll have to ask him.

BadDayForMe · 27/03/2022 09:23

I’m more worried now. I went from the friends Facebook page to the friends wife’s page. She has changed her profile photo today. It’s of her sitting in bed with her 2 little girls. She has a tray with breakfast and a Mother’s Day card on it. Im wondering who has taken a photo of them in bed if the husband is away??

Xiaoxiong · 27/03/2022 09:23

Can you video chat him and ask him to show you where he is? View outside the window, hotel name, etc?

Unsure33 · 27/03/2022 09:24

It’s just weird because if he just said we are going golfing in Spain you would not have been suspicious. So why bother to lie?

3luckystars · 27/03/2022 09:24

Ask him to bring you hone some Portuguese tarts, that you were watching Rick Stein and got a craving for some.

Journeynotdestination · 27/03/2022 09:24

OP, if he has sent you a photo you can access the exif data which will tell you where the image was taken. Look on the App Store for an app called Exif Metadata. I doubt he’ll have had the sense to delete the exif data from the photo he’s sent you.

lanbro · 27/03/2022 09:24

Passport stamping is hit and miss, according to mine in still in Gran Canaria but have been to Lanzarote since, no stamp, and both since January.

Have you actually reason to be suspicious? It strikes me as odd that you haven't just said why is he in Spain when he said Portugal. You must not trust him anyway to immediately be suspicious and not just ask.

XH was useless, he could easily have told me the wrong place and got the airport name wrong. He argued for hours with me that we'd been to Lanzarote before when we hadn't, and texted the other day to ask if we'd been to Fuertaventura.

If he's not normally untrustworthy please don't let yourself be whipped up into a frenzy, just ask him. If you don't believe him there are already problems in your relationship

BulletTrain · 27/03/2022 09:25

If he told you he lands at 3, he's coming from Malaga.
