To assume I've been dumped?

Seeing a guy since July. He's more open to relationships than me but we decided to make a go off it. Met each others families etc. We both had covid 2 weeks ago. He was worse than me so i didn't mind making most of the contact etc. However we've both been back out in the world for a week and it's me making most of the effort. I facetimed him last night to discuss it but he was with his daughter. I spoke to her quickly and he said he'd ring me once they were home and didn't. Am I dumped?

He might be busy or maybe caught up with something else. Calling you might have slipped his mind.

JudgementalCactus · 06/11/2021 10:12

I'm sorry. It does sound like he's doing the slow fade thing

WheatlandTerrier · 06/11/2021 10:14

Yep. Why do people tell you they love you? So odd

furbabymama87 · 06/11/2021 10:14

Just ask him where you stand. It could be that he was genuinely busy but I think if you feel yourself that he is pulling away then you're probably right.

WheatlandTerrier · 06/11/2021 10:14

Nah I'm gonna leave it now.

Aw it definitely stings op but you are definitely right in going no contact and showing that you won't chase anybody

SortingItOut · 06/11/2021 10:19

Yep. Why do people tell you they love you? So odd

No one really loves anyone after 3 or 4 mths, its likely lust or he's love bombing you.

WheatlandTerrier · 06/11/2021 10:19

Another weirdo

I definitely wouldn't send any angry/desperate texts asking why the change in behaviour. Silence is dignity.

But if you need some kind of closure, just send a regular text asking about making plans or something. If he ignores you or gives an evasive, lackluster answer then you'll know where you stand and you can allow yourself to move on knowing you gave him a shot to turn things around.

I wouldn't send a text for closure, silence is the closure really.
If she sends a txt and he ignores it, that's more salt in the wound. No one needs that.
Op is doing the right thing showing her worth and won't wait around for anyone playing games or not fully interested. His loss for sure

Mikethenight2good · 06/11/2021 12:26

Well done! His loss...Flowers
Hope you are ok

WheatlandTerrier · 06/11/2021 12:49

This is why I don't do relationships

OP posts:
Mikethenight2good · 06/11/2021 16:13

Don't let him get you down. Count your lucky stars you are not stuck with a coward.

baileys6904 · 06/11/2021 18:01

He's with his child and doesn't call you back, so now you're deleting his number??

Bloody hell. I've been with DP for 10 years, and regularly from the start had this. He has 3 kids, I have one, but our kids were priority against the relationship, especially at the beginning. Even now, if I'm bonding with my son, I'll ignore dps calls and phone him back whenever. My sons 17. Times precious with him and my dp understands that. And vice versa.

Perhaps rather than reacting so harshly, have a conversation with him. Tell him you're felling left out. Ask him if he's not interested. Communication is key

Walkacrossthesand · 06/11/2021 18:41

@WheatlandTerrier has done all she needs to do - become aware that she's making most of the effort, called him to discuss, been postponed, not had a promised call back. Ball firmly in his court now. If he was getting a bit complacent about her being available on demand, he'll call. If not, meh - move on.

And I'm dumped

OP posts:
MyOtherProfile · 06/11/2021 23:14

Did he get in touch?

SpookyPumpkinPants · 06/11/2021 23:14

@WheatlandTerrier

And I'm dumped
What did he say?
TheEncouragingStranger · 06/11/2021 23:16

Not dumped. You're free! Dumping is what we do to rubbish. Don't think of yourself like that.

Onwards to better things.

HollowTalk · 06/11/2021 23:18

I wish you'd managed to do that first. Try not to be upset though. What a way for him to do it. He is shown aside to him that is really horrible. You have had a lucky escape.

WheatlandTerrier · 06/11/2021 23:21

He messaged. I asked what was going on and he said he's overthinking everything and wants to talk to me face to face. I asked if I was dumped and he didn't say no lol. I'd rather not meet up face to face to be dumped.

OP posts:
Skiptheheartsandflowers · 06/11/2021 23:25

Go radio silence now and if he asks to meet up, you can say you don't see the point.

How did he message you if you deleted his number?
MeridasMum · 07/11/2021 00:25
