Team Ioan Gruffudd or Alice Evans?

I've been following the story around the breakup of Ioan and Alice. I haven't been a great fan of Alice in the past, but I do feel for her and her children right now. Who else thinks that Ioan has behaved atrociously to his family? According to his wife, he has been having an affair for a long while, and making her feel as though she was in the wrong for months.

@Glassofschloer loan and Bianca only announced their relationship I think about 10 days ago. Rightly or wrongly Alice is now putting two and two together and must be feeling absolutely devastated. Should she be ranting on SM - absolutely not, but I feel huge compassion for her.

I think if my husband left me for another woman and posted how she had finally made him smile again on social media and my friend liked and put positive comments on that post, I’d have something to say about it.

Alice claims she knew about his ‘affair’ for months. Now she’s saying she had no clue about Bianca. Which is it?

As I said before I really started out thinking Ioan was an ungrateful creep who left his devoted and supportive wife to pursue a younger woman now his wife is ‘older’ (NOT ‘old’)

But honestly; if she was half as vitriolic and histrionic in their marriage as she has been since the split, he must be exhausted and frankly in need of light company and positivity. Several comments she has made has made me think their marriage was one of her being hysterical, paranoid and needy - not letting him speak Welsh to his parents for one thing. How controlling is that?

He has done one slightly dubious thing in posting a photo of his new girlfriend a year after the split.

In return she has weaponised their kids - apparently they ‘accidentally’ saw the divorce papers, and she has leaked all kinds of things about their emotional state and things they have said. Private things which I can’t imagine the girls thought would end up splashed across the paper.

She has gone absolutely postal on social media, not surprising initially but she is still at it a year down the line - liking comments about Bianca’s looks, ‘watch your back’ type stuff, claims about Ioan which she then seems unable to substantiate.

By comparison all he has done is left her, and now a year later has a new girlfriend. All very upsetting for her but her reaction has really made me think he needed to get away from her for his mental health & the fact he has found someone else, well good luck to him.

I hope Alice gets the help she needs. She says she has no friends - why doesn’t she? It is within her power to now improve her life and move on from this, but she seems determined to press the self destruct button and take Ioan down with her. It’s all very sad and it must be awful for their kids.

All of this! 100% I am very curious to see what she says on TV, she says she has interview coming up, wouldn't surprise me if saying that is a ploy to get him to finally speak to her directly as opposed to running all communications through lawyers.

Yeah she says that she wants to speak of the "epidemic that is older men leaving their wives for younger women", like that hasn't been happening since the dawn pf time.

Ioan's friend maybe.
Just seems an odd thing to write - unless it was in response to someone else saying he looked younger.
Either way, having been through similar herself, am surprised she'd have liked it all. She was wise enough to not comment much on Tom, but has been guilty of the odd passive-aggressive tweet and barb herself against her own ex.

Any fool can see it was going to send a hand grenade into an already inflamed situation without a thought for his kids.

Are you really weighing this up on the basis of 'one thing' v 'this many things' ? You KNOW a marriage break up is so much more nuanced than that don't you?

10 months is bugger all - it will be like having a scab ripped off and starting from raw all over again.

I think it was a deliberate post to get ahead of the press. Suspect he and his agent knew his new relationship would be reported soon so it was a way of announcing it, while trying to make it a new start as opposed to old/continuous fling.

And now she's 50 and found out from social media that her husband who separated from her 10 months ago is having a relationship with a girl in her late 20's - not a stretch of imagination to believe that this could have been going on before the split.

I don’t think she ‘had’ to give it up - they would have had plenty of money for nannies, and many actors and musicians work with children, even where both of them are in the industry.

She’s now demanding lifelong spousal support and refusing to divorce him so he can’t marry anyone else.

Anyway the way she is acting now will damage any potential of future acting roles.

And it absolutely will be the epicentre of her human consciousness and will be for a very long time to come.

@Glassofschloer They chose for her to give acting up so there would be one parent always at home with the children. Do you not have any empathy for this poor woman?

How people want to bring up their kids is entirely their own business. You don't 'have' to work if you can afford not to. That would have been between IG and AE alone.

Either way, I hope she does get support for having been primary caregiver for so long. I'd make him wait two years an' all.

I agree @Glassofshloer, and I think she knows this too which is why she was tweeting that she cant work.
Although I think this whole social media storm, the parking garage incident and the super disturbing other tweets where she said she "wouldnt take the pills" etc. can't have helped her marketability.

@ChequerBoard my goodness how aggressive!! Ok, it is an assumption but she says in the daily mail piece that she gave up work so that one parent would be home with the children so I assume he was on board with that.
