Just for a laugh, I thought I'd start a thread about the bad and the ugly of OLD...

Here's mine:

1. When men have a picture of a then holding a child on their profile, and then say 'oh, by the way, it's not mine, I promise.' Why include it if it's someone else's?

1. When men say 'if you want to know anything, just ask.' I'm sorry, ask what? You haven't given me anything to ask about!

1. When men just write their social media details on their profile with the words 'add me' and nothing else. No thank you. I'm not a love island contestant.

I also hate when guys just put a picture of their bare chest as their profile photo.

My annoyance was always men’s height. I’m 5ft7 which isn’t massively tall but is above average for women. The amount of men I’d meet who would say in their profiles that they were 5ft10 and I’d show up in flats to be greeted by someone my height or shorter was pretty common. I worked out that if they said they were 6ft+ then they’d likely be taller than me. I sound like I have a thing for tall men but I don’t it was more the lying aspect that amused me.

I’ve not done online dating in a while but I have heard about men holding animals or children. I wonder if it’s a somewhat recent thing. It’s suppose to make them appear caring apparently 🤣

I hate the one face pic ( usually in sunglasses and hat ) then 6 pics of a - motorbike / car/ sunset view / mountain view / sea view / fish

Guys giving the middle finger to the camera on their profile pics. These are guys in their 40s, not bloody teenagers. Who the fuck would swipe right to that??

No worries, while I’m complaining, what is with women and filters, why do you add cat whiskers or bunny ears is beyond me (and I’m looking at the 45+ age group)
And horses are Bloody Massive, so a picture of a woman on horseback is a profile picture of a massive horse with a stick woman on top, who am going to ask out, the woman or the horse (I guess this is the female equivalent of the fish pictures )

@JustAnother0ldMan I totally agree with the filters .. it's an absolute fact that some filters can even out your skin tone , make your eyes appear brighter , neck looks less scraggy .. so of course we want to see the best of ourselves .. however if you actually plan to meet up in real life , there really is no point in doing this at all ?
Horses is a whole new subject ! Best not go there .. yes it sounds like fish/ horse may be comparable

Long aggressive rants along the lines of ‘looking for a NO DRAMA woman who isn’t all about DRAMA and can have a laff. Doesn’t want to nag and be CONTROLLING and is happy to just have fun.’

Just remembered another thing I hate
If you having a general conversation with someone and they just suddenly go offline without saying goodbye
If I'm chatting then need to go I'll always say right - have a good day/ night I'm away for now bla bla bla then log off , horrible to be left waiting for a response 🤨

Photos where they've clearly taken a photo of a framed photo in their house which is from 10 years ago or whatever.
Guys who don't know how to have a two way conversation by text and leave you with nothing to respond to.
Anyone who says 'I look young for my age and usually date younger' on their profile - ugh.
Anyone sticking their tongue out in a photo - massive turn off.
Photos of them with a woman who is clearly their ex, one profile I saw of a divorced guy had a picture of him on his wedding day with his new wife!
I could go on...

All of the above plus any mention of: cuddles, naughty, partner in crime, university of life/hard knocks, genuine guy, no drama, cosy, kissing/kisses. These all make me cringe.

Photos - I know this has already been said but repeating for emphasis: tongue out. Awful, just awful. Car/motorbike photos.

And throwing this one in but I know it doesn’t really fit what has been asked but need to get it off my chest: beards that look like pubic hair.

The world travellers, pictured in various different countries, describe where they want to go next to the countries they've already decided without you and the hikes and camping thrown in too! How would they find a partner to go with them on a whim without any commitments. I'm sure there's someone for everyone but there's so many profiles like that.
Also too many hobbies, golf, cycling, running etc when would I find to see them I think so I avoid them.
Dogs a personal choice but definitely not for me but alot of profiles have dogs attached to them or they want a dog in future, no thanks I'm not caring for it, for you!

When their first picture is a good looking guy who I think ooh he's nice and an unattractive man...without fail it is the unattractive one

I just think why would you do that? You're clearly using your mates looks for likes and setting yourself up for disappointment.

I sometimes think of asking for the mates number, I mean if they're going to advertise him it's only fair...

The swearing, men putting their fingers up to the Camera, I assume they realise or soon will that women won't match them, I should hope. I wonder what the motive is, to look funny, for an ex just generally don't want a date lol who knows?

Thank god I'm a fussy miserable old fart who's not met up with anyone in over 2 years !

Every photo is a group photo so you can’t tell which one they are. Alcohol and nights out for every photo. Aggressive openers / negging. Not ready to date, just want to bitch about their ex and not much else. Men who have such busy lives they could probably squeeze you in for a date for a couple of hours once a fortnight but seem to expect that date will end up with sex. Being either way too interested in details of your life from the get go (like exactly where you live and work) or the flip side asking zero questions about you. Trying to turn the talk sexual within three messages - why do men think this is attractive? If you’re that fast at just the sex talk don’t hold out much hope the actual deed would be anything other than a wham bham.

The collectors / penpals who pop up for nice chats and just as it gets close to a date ghost, only to return days or weeks later to resume chat like nothing happened.

Aggressive and angry men who clearly hate women and seem to want you to pass some anti-‘bitch’ test before they’ll deign to talk to you. Married people looking for ‘discreet fun’. Men who’ve watched 50 Shades of Grey and have a stock image of a dude in a suit holding a blindfold or something looking for a ‘submissive’. Clingy men who tell you they miss you and send loads of kisses after one conversation.

Oh and the absolute pet hate - empty profile except for ‘just ask’. Like thanks for making the other person do all the work right from the get go.

And finally men who write things like ‘can’t believe i’m actually on here haha’ like OLD is totally pathetic.
