Just for a laugh, I thought I'd start a thread about the bad and the ugly of OLD...

Here's mine:

  1. When men have a picture of a then holding a child on their profile, and then say 'oh, by the way, it's not mine, I promise.' Why include it if it's someone else's?
  1. When men say 'if you want to know anything, just ask.' I'm sorry, ask what? You haven't given me anything to ask about!
  1. When men just write their social media details on their profile with the words 'add me' and nothing else. No thank you. I'm not a love island contestant.

Looking forward to hearing everyone else's Smile

There’s a special place in hell for the “just ask” people and I agree with PP, ask WHAT? “Are you a lazy shit in every aspect of your life or just this one?” Wait we already know the answer to that one.

Lists of countries aren’t a personality.

JustAnother0ldMan · 13/09/2021 08:37

Dogs a personal choice but definitely not for me but alot of profiles have dogs attached to them or they want a dog in future, no thanks I'm not caring for it, for you!

Personally I like dogs, and quite a few women 45+ have dogs, so that’s always a positive point for me, and have used as an ‘opening’ message before and it’s got a positive response 👍🏼, people love talking about their dogs

Rubyrebel · 13/09/2021 08:40

When I used to do it years ago , it used to be pictures next to sedated tigers, who were chained up, what an attractive ‘brave’ picture 😑 I hope those aren’t still in trend.
Pictures with multiple women, men or kids. Trying too hard to look wanted and popular and did they ask the parent for the kids pic to be on there? (irresponsible)

Lightlady · 13/09/2021 09:11

I never understand the men lying about height and the complaining so many of them do that some women like tall men
Many men have plenty of preferences for how they prefer women to look . Why can’t a woman prefer tall men

SirenSays · 13/09/2021 09:29

My pictures - hair and make up done, clean room, nice outfit.
Mens pictures - taken five seconds after waking up in a filthy toothpaste spotted bathroom mirror with a heap of clutter in the background.

JadedSoJaded · 13/09/2021 09:38

I was pondering on going back on the apps. Reading this has reminded why I gave up!

Bypassed21 · 13/09/2021 09:42

Guys who string you along for days/weeks on end but never have the intention of actually meeting in person.

givinglessfucksdaily · 13/09/2021 09:42

@JadedSoJaded oh go on ... why should we keep all that joy for ourselves 🤣

LastGirlSanding · 13/09/2021 10:23

To be fair i’ve also met some great people via OLD including a fantastic person i’m now dating so ot isn’t all bad @JadedSoJaded. Just a lot of crap to wage through so requires patience and a rigid non acceptance of bullshit!

crackofdoom · 13/09/2021 10:31

“Looking for someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously”.

Mate, women have a long and painful history of not being taken seriously. We’re a bit over that.

Marni83 · 13/09/2021 10:32

And I bet the parents don’t know that their baby’s pic is on a dating website!

crackofdoom · 13/09/2021 10:35

“Banter” (quivers).

crackofdoom · 13/09/2021 10:36

Selfies taken from below, unsmiling. You’d have to be a 20 year old male model for this to be even remotely flattering.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 13/09/2021 10:43

Banter 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Thisisworsethananticpated · 13/09/2021 10:43

And this why I’m single !!!!!!!!

LastGirlSanding · 13/09/2021 10:52

Oh that reminds me of another one - When they have a picture of them with their arm around an attractive woman and then say ‘btw that’s my sister/aunt/friend etc, honest!!’ (often with a crying laughing emoji too).
OnwardsEverStridingOnwards · 13/09/2021 10:57

@Kanaloa

‘Like nights in and nights out.’ Okay so you have no opinion or preferences then. Why bother writing it at all.

Long aggressive rants along the lines of ‘looking for a NO DRAMA woman who isn’t all about DRAMA and can have a laff. Doesn’t want to nag and be CONTROLLING and is happy to just have fun.’

@Kanaloa yes, I've encountered a few ahem... rats with profiles of that nature 😂😂

@givinglessfucksdaily

Just remembered another thing I hate If you having a general conversation with someone and they just suddenly go offline without saying goodbye If I'm chatting then need to go I'll always say right - have a good day/ night I'm away for now bla bla bla then log off , horrible to be left waiting for a response 🤨
@givinglessfucksdaily I'm with you on that! I hate that too.

Why include it if it's someone else's?

Because they think appearing good with kids makes women hot for them.

NewYear2021 · 13/09/2021 11:00

My best one recently was he said ‘Hey’ I said ‘oh come on you can do better than that!’ He said ‘you’re a toxic bitch and this is why you’re single’. (Although he’s used your) Ahhhh needless to say I’ve come off them all!

SleepingBunnies21 · 13/09/2021 11:03

Also means- want someone who has the skin of a rhino and doesn't get offended when I say ridiculously thoughtless tactless "blokey" things.

@Bypassed21 I get you! Have experienced this situation very recently, in fact. I find it really frustrating because you're potentially giving up your time for them and all it takes is a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer from them. 😳

The fish, the doped exotic animals, the cut out wives, the bikes, the cars, the promo girls (they're paid to stand and smile mate, what does a photo of you with them prove?)
