I think there’s another phone

I may be paranoid but a couple of things lately have me thinking dp may have a secret phone.
I’ve looked but can’t find one, so I could be totally wrong but my gut is telling me to keep looking.
What I’m asking is, those that have found a secret phone, where was it hidden? I’m hoping there’s places I haven’t thought to look. I’m also hoping I’m wrong and just paranoid as I do have form for overthinking things, but I’m watching dp like a hawk right now.

However I’ve sort of booby trapped a few doors

And you think his behaviour is bizarre?

Boomboombroom · 09/01/2021 16:34

However I’ve sort of booby trapped a few doors

How did you do this?

Somethingkindaoooo · 09/01/2021 16:36

My ex had a second phone in the car.

I very stupidly believed him when he said he ' just wanted it because it was techy and cool'.

It was a pebble
🤣🤣🤣

His phone was a pebble? As in the stone???

And you think his behaviour is bizarre?

I'm agape at how many MNers seem to think they're the star characters in an episode of CSI.

I pray that I never end up in a relationship where BOOBY-TRAPPING MULTIPLE DOORS is considered sane and necessary.

UpShutTheFuck · 09/01/2021 16:53

Is it just me hoping that the booby traps involve a bucket of water balancing on the doors?

Nope ( stupid auto correct!)
As in the Pebl phone. It looked a bit pebble-y

Somethingkindaoooo · 09/01/2021 17:27

⏫⏫⏫⏫
That was for @Boomboombroom
Auto correct + quote fail!

Takeitonthechin · 09/01/2021 17:29

In the boot, with the spare wheel...

InFiveMins · 09/01/2021 17:43

If you've got a hunch something isn't right, trust your gut. I would wait until he was fast asleep and start searching then, but have an excuse ready in case he wakes up and asks what you're doing.

Is he in a room on his own a lot, like an office? If so keep bursting in on him with a cup of tea or some other excuse and see if he's using it.

InFiveMins · 09/01/2021 17:46

I'd focus on the direction where you saw him go before he went to the loo and search there while he's sleeping. He clearly went to get something before going to the loo so unless he's changed it's hiding place he'll keep it there. Do you go to bed together at the same time or can you see if he hides it before coming to bed?

Justgivemesomepeace · 09/01/2021 17:46

Friends husbands was in the gas/electric cupboard on the outside wall of the house.

Ohh... haha

DEFINITELY didn’t google it

Dissillusioned · 09/01/2021 19:09

No buckets of water over doors! I think that’s be a bit obvious.
No, by booby trapped I mean I just put an innocuous small piece of tissue inbetween the closed door so I’ll know if it’s been opened as it will fall soon as it has. That’s just on rooms we wouldn’t go into in the middle of the bloody night of course.
Just narrowing down my search area.
Honestly if he hadn’t been so weird about the glasses I’d not be looking. I agree it’s not healthy and We do have a very good relationship (hard to believe I know) but I don’t want to blindly carry on if he has a secret phone. I’ve trusted in the past and been totally wrong to do so. I’ve just been made a fool once too often I guess.

I was going to suggest to keep an eye in his route, and then re-trace it. The phone is likely to be out if site, but somewhere within easy reach. Try to view the rooms with fresh eyes.

Love the booby traps.

TellySavalashairbrush · 09/01/2021 19:29

If you have plastic/metal covered air vents in your house check there too- I talk from experience!

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 09/01/2021 19:37

Could it be in the downstairs loo overnight? In a baggie, in the tank, or just hidden in spare loo rolls or something.

Dissillusioned · 09/01/2021 19:57

Checked everywhere everyone suggested and nothing. So maybe there isn’t one.
And I’m just a freak.
But I keep going back to the glasses incident. It was too odd.
It’s like I’m going round in circles.
I hope I don’t find anything because I would be absolutely gutted.
And actually if dp knew I was setting booby trap doors and he has no second phone I think he’d actually find that funny because he knows why I am so mistrustful and respects that. However, he is still a man. And from experience, I need to trust my gut.
Ill let you know if I find anything or any doors are opened in middle of the night.

I had a second phone. At times it was, under the bed between mattress and bed frame on my side, in the boot of my car, in the glove box, behind cookery books in the kitchen, in the dog poo bag pile, in my riding boots, in my welly boot etc I was always moving it and never got complacent ever - I was in an abusive relationship and it was my life line

2021hastobebetter · 09/01/2021 20:13

Most of the time it was on me. Or in my work bag. I also had a pencil case I put it in.

2021hastobebetter · 09/01/2021 20:14

Don't forget he needs to charge it or a power bank

Aardvarkitsabloodyaardvark · 09/01/2021 20:17

@LittlefairyMum

Personally I think it's porn. He knows you don't agree with it is hiding it from you. He's using it in the downside bathroom...

OP any heathy male with access to the internet is watching porn. You're only kidding yourself if you think he isn't.

Agreed. I think this is the likely explanation and he feels guilty as he knows how you'll react
QuentinWinters · 09/01/2021 20:28

I think porn too TBH. He got flustered when you caught him. It could be on his usual phone then but he leaves the room to watch it.

Minnie16889 · 09/01/2021 20:34

Coats or any pockets in wardrobe? Old bags hidden away? Brief case? Shed? Behind the toilet?

His behaviour is rather odd, i hope you get to the bottom of it
