'True gent' (aka chauvinist)
'I'm just a big kid' (already have one of those thanks mate)
'Any normal women out there?' (who will cook, wash and clean for me?)
'Just ask' (as I can't be arsed to write a proper profile)

shadyzadie · 15/05/2020 16:56

Oh and not using their actual name, but something like Shrek or Gazza. Just why??

LellyMcKelly · 15/05/2020 17:04

“Looking for someone who doesn’t feel the need to sit on the phone talking to her mother for two hours every night” in his profile.

ZoZoBo · 15/05/2020 17:29

I’m in my 40’s and my age range is 4 years or so either side - I’ve had a couple of messages of people on their profile are 46 but then say I’m 30! Obviously looking for a cougar type but just be honest and you will find women who want younger men! And everything else that has gone before.

It’s not all bad though! Just about 90%

inmyshoos · 15/05/2020 17:49

Wowsers can't stand this kind of arrogance.....

Starts with a load of slef congratulatory waffle then continues with.....

How are you different from all the other strong, independent ladies?
Eating out, drinking, traveling, Netflix, gym, yoga, run, house, job, car🙄😴😴
Tell me about your character
Assuming you've got some? 😉

What a charmer..... Hmm

nicelyneurotic · 15/05/2020 17:54

"My best blue steel"
If they own and pose with big dogs. Even worse if they are topless and in bed with it
Bald men
A long list if demands of what they want in a woman (the man is usually unattractive and short)
Short men
When they misunderstand the prompt question
Poor grammar
Lots of women in their photos
Long lists of everywhere they've travelled (having travelled does not = personality)
Topless posing in front of a bathroom mirror

jimmyjammy001 · 15/05/2020 17:56

Pouting selfies
Pictures of them Smoking
Got their 'shit' together in the description
Job listed as 'Full Time Mummy' - never understood that one? Are all the Mother's who work classed as part time if they only see their kids in the morning and evening?!

Mermaidwaves · 15/05/2020 17:58

Is it just me or when you see the selfies of them in bed half naked does it immediately make you think of morning breath and smelly arm pits?

jimmyjammy001 · 15/05/2020 17:59

Oh and one other 'not looking for a step Dad for my kids'

singlemum81 · 15/05/2020 18:17

Selfies to clearly show off their upper arms. Or 'I'm not the best looking guy'. No shit

OP posts:
singlemum81 · 15/05/2020 18:19

Selfies in bed with their arm slung over their head. Is that supposed to make us want to shag them 🤢

Longshotinthedark · 15/05/2020 18:19

Funny thread....
So much of this applies to Womens profiles too....perhaps not the fishing pose!
That's made up for by a surfeit of Martini glasses with red cocktails instead, or charity running gear.
Facebook filters are my absolute worst nightmare! Just Why?

OLD is depressing whatever the gender.
And all of you ladies saying that you are interested in personality rather than looks.....I'm calling bullshit on that!

The fairer sex is just as superficial as the guys in terms of looks.

singlemum81 · 15/05/2020 18:19

Oh and tattoos on their face. Just no

OP posts:
singlemum81 · 15/05/2020 18:24

Of course it's based on looks. If the personality is shite then it's game over!

Just about everything really Blush I want the 'Moon on a Stick' and, quite frankly, I 'm nowhere near engaging enough to get it.

Meh! Single is a much preferable state of play (for me) Smile

Ceebeegee · 15/05/2020 19:25

When there are no photos of them smiling. Why do they think a miserable look is going to be attractive?

"partner in crime". "I want to leave the single market before the UK does"

Snap chat filters

"seductive" bed sheet photos

Cycling photos

SunshineSmellsLikeSummer · 15/05/2020 20:45

Of course everyone goes by looks on OLD. That's what means you look at someone's profile or not. But, firstly, I can guarantee that what I find physically attractive is not what a lot of women do so I assume we all find different things attractive and, secondly, if their profile reveals a crap personality, it doesn't matter how physically attractive they are, they have no chance surely?

I also think that women will look for an attractive feature - eg eyes or a smile, whereas men seem to want the whole supermodel package.

KnowallKnownowt · 15/05/2020 21:22

Agree with all the above and must add, be sure to avoid the self styled 'class clown' aka dick head!

MikeUniformMike · 15/05/2020 21:52

Photos of them with their arm around a woman, whether she is mostly cropped out or not. Sunglasses and hobbies. Photos of him with his kids.

Only read page 1 so far and agree with all of the above.

Anything like No games or No dramas. It may be true but it makes you sound like he's going to be mind games and all drama.

GinWithRosie · 15/05/2020 21:57

‘Banter’

“Luv a bit o banter me” 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

“I didn’t know what to put here, so I asked a female friend to write this for me: Pete’s AMAZEBALLS....blah blah....”

Of course your ‘female friend’ wrote that! 100% 👍

The ones that describe themselves ‘in the style of’ a car! FFS 😖 This DOES NOT get my motor running 🤷‍♀️

MikeUniformMike · 15/05/2020 21:59

Are there any other codes like 420 that I should look out for?

singlemum81 · 15/05/2020 22:03

I'm no expect but I don't think so

OP posts:
LilMissRe · 15/05/2020 22:42

Ok we must all be coming across the same men!
I'm actually on Bumble right now, and I'd like to add:
Tough Mudders/Runs
Pretty woman/ any woman in their first profile pic
Stating their height eg, 6ft 5 then saying " because apparently that matters"
Or I'm whatever height in heels ladies
Good at catching spiders?
"no baggage"- hate that!
Instagram links- why the hell? and all their insta photos are landscapes or food.

I want to know who actually looks at these profiles, and thinks "yes, this is exactly what I want'

It's only enabling their behaviour surely. The majority of profiles are awful like this.

I'm sometimes tempted to swipe right, match, to only give them feedback on their profiles.

user1471565182 · 15/05/2020 22:52
  1. That goes for avoiding in real life as well.
LilMissRe · 15/05/2020 22:57

Oh bumbe

when they give ratings for themselves, or their mum's or nan's rating for them.
House trained? Own teeth and car? FFS

Thailand, Bali, Machu Pichu, any summit.
A profile solely made up of emojis

Oh and er, "I'm looking for the one" , only to then select "don't know yet" as an answer to "what are you looking for?"

selfies in the lift

Or they say they're never on there and best contact them through instagram or snapchat- these are supposedly grown men 35 yrs +
