Changed username for this.

I think DH might be blocking and unblocking me on WhatsApp.

He works away midweek. I noticed randomly a while ago that his profile pic on WhatsApp had changed to nothing. Before it had been a pic of us all.

Then noticed on sons phone a while later (he was showing me messages) it was a pic of the kids.

I didn't think much of it. Then I was whatsapping someone and his pic was of the kids on mine too. Basically thought I must have been mistaken and promptly forgot all about it. We very rarely WhatsApp each other, we mainly use iMessage but he uses WhatsApp with the kids and other family/friends. I use it for the kids and workmates mainly.

Fast forward to last night. Was on WhatsApp and saw the picture of the kids. He is quite high up on my chats list.

For some reason I screenshot it. Then this morning, went to WhatsApp my sister and the pic is back to nothing again. It's of the kids on my sons!

I WhatsApped a message and it's just got one tick and has for ages. But on a group kids chat we are on it went to two straight away for him when I messaged this morning.

This is just weird!

It can't be that he wants to hide his last online as he has that set so nobody sees that anyway. He wouldn't need to block me for that.

Any ideas as to why?

I know the right thing to do is ask. I don't really want to do that right now.

Yes, I'd be furious if he was on livecam sites.

Dont get me wrong that would be a deal breaker for me too, maybe he's deleted the call history for specific calls.
Just mean it's not exactly a relationship he has with another woman type cheating

Friendsofmine · 18/05/2020 10:51

OP I have an idea. Could you post this query on reddit? Don't put half as much detail as on here in case it gets shared and gets back to your OH. I feel certain there is an answer we are just not sneaky enough to think of or knowledgable to know of and one of those techie men will help you I'm sure!

Friendsofmine · 18/05/2020 10:52

Your spidey sense is definitely onto something.

Gutterton · 18/05/2020 10:57

Is this pattern just since lock down? I am wondering if whilst working away he used sex workers - but now it’s only online?

If it is sex workers then you will have a paper trail for money (cash withdrawals from cash points in the past) some on line payment now? Maybe that’s a different way to dig - does he have separate card? Online payment methods? Separate bank accounts set up at a different address? Any online payments would have a “cover” description. No idea how much these things costs but someone else might advise and if you found transactions at the time of blocking it would point to this sort of activity.

notapizzaeater · 18/05/2020 11:00

Do you use a joint bank account ? Can you see his withdrawals ? How far away is he when working ?

ilovebluecheese · 18/05/2020 11:06

When some blocks you does it stopped you seeing their profile photo - I didn't know that.

Also how do you have two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone - doesn't WhatsApp rely on - a phone number??

Louise000000 · 18/05/2020 11:09

Yes you stop seeing their pic, you can't see if they are online or last seen and if you message them it just sits at 1 tick
Funnily enough said bf that told me about these live what's app sex chats also blocked me on WhatsApp Grin he's taught me alot about WhatsApp actually!!

angelcakebananabrain · 18/05/2020 11:09

@ilovebluecheese I realised I’d been blocked by some random OLD contact when I went into WhatsApp and not only was his profile picture gone, his name was removed from my contacts!

Butteredtoastandcoffee · 18/05/2020 11:14

Not joint but I have access. Already checked that - nothing!

ilovebluecheese · 18/05/2020 11:14

@angelcakebananabrain @Louise000000 Oh okay - I didn't realise that.
May be people who I thought would block me indeed haven't. You learn something new every day!

So anyone know how you would have two WhatsApp accounts??? I never knew that!

Butteredtoastandcoffee · 18/05/2020 11:15

He's hours away - other end of the country.

I really hope not re: sex workers. I really really really hope not.

This could have been going on ages and I just wasn't aware. It seems as though from his phone I was only blocked that specific weekend/into Monday. Nothing since.

ilovebluecheese · 18/05/2020 11:18

@Butteredtoastandcoffee Have you tried blocking him also? Do u have mutual friends on whatsapp you say? Is he changing his profile pic?

Butteredtoastandcoffee · 18/05/2020 11:23

No he's not changing his pic. No I haven't blocked him.

Louise000000 · 18/05/2020 11:23

@angelcakebananabrain would that not just mean he's come off of what's app altogether? As in hess deleted the app?

ilovebluecheese · 18/05/2020 11:26

@Butteredtoastandcoffee Does he have an Android phone???

Louise000000 · 18/05/2020 11:27

He's def blocking you and unblocking you, that's for sure.
If I make a call on what's app I can go into my call log and delete that specific call so no trace of it.
These porn type sex chats just show a phone number which you can call, do your business then delete the number. I'm not sure how you would pay for the calls tho? If its phone bill or card payment? Are you able to have a check on his bank or phone bill and see?

LiteraryType · 18/05/2020 11:28

Hmmmm. 🤔 Does your son's phone show dh's activity - when dh was last online, for example? Is he trying to hide that? If you get blocked again I'd check ds's phone as that'll show he's online if he is.

And did you get to the bottom of why he needs that sim remover tool?

faithfulbird · 18/05/2020 11:29

Sorry to barge in but my husband was telling me you can have two WhatsApp accounts on the newest or second to newest iPhone?

What phone does he have? I'm really sorry you're going through this...it must be stressful...

I'd hint things to him very subtly when you do talk...almost casually.... or if I was really annoyed....I'd sit him down and tell him Im having an affair (pause and look at his face) and I know what he's doing ....and that he'd have to come clean...but it depends he might tell u or he might hide it... then say omg look at your face I'm joking...atleast it would give him a taste of his own medicine and make him worry... or you block him for a bit...during similar hours or booty call hours so he starts feeling the same... or in the group...send him a screenshot of a message you sent him when he's blocked you (that he's not read) and say hey just a little worried...is there something wrong with my phone... I can't see your pic and your not getting my messages....really worried...

ilovebluecheese · 18/05/2020 11:32

@Butteredtoastandcoffee How about within settings it shows you how long the phone user (DH) has been using apps and it also tells you the time, would be interesting to compare when you were blocked to when he is shown as active on his phone???

ilovebluecheese · 18/05/2020 11:33

@faithfulbird you need a dual sim phone to be able to have more than one WhatsApp.

Butteredtoastandcoffee · 18/05/2020 11:39

I know I'm being blocked. It says so on our chat history on WhatsApp!

OP posts:
Butteredtoastandcoffee · 18/05/2020 11:39

On his phone, I should say

OP posts:
Butteredtoastandcoffee · 18/05/2020 11:40

I'll try and see if I can get into settings and it show me when he was using what apps. Will have to be this weekend though.....
