Just curious to see where people met up.

With me and mine it was through friends. I gave it a go because he made me laugh and made me feel i could be myself.

He fell on me, half-cut, when he was supposedly seeing a friend of mine.

FLIER · 27/08/2007 13:30

at a works night out

Jojay · 27/08/2007 13:32

Through friends.

I'd just split up with someone else, but they hassled me so much to go out with them that I gave in.

And the rest is history.....

SlightlyMadShockwave · 27/08/2007 13:32

DP was my boyfriends (of the time) cousin.

Anna8888 · 27/08/2007 13:44

At a very glamorous cocktail party for alumni of the company we had both worked for, though at different times.

(My friend thought she was Cilla Black )

FrannyandZooey · 27/08/2007 13:50

Haylstones · 27/08/2007 13:52

Met him in students union when my friend asked his friend if he wanted a drink of her water (?- I don't know why ). They paired off and left me and dh to play goospeberry- 9 years later we're still together but htye never saw each other again

FlameBatfink · 27/08/2007 13:54

In a club - my mate fancied his, so I got sent to test the waters.

His mate had no interest whatsoever in my mate. He apparently did like me, and gave the classic opener of "The stereophonics are from my village" (How not to impress a girl in a rock club)

We chatted, discovered that we liked the same songs (and had been hassling the dj to play the same song all night), finished each others sentences, and a few months of him hassling me later, we got together.

Went back there both heavily pregnant with DD and on my hen night - the dj feels all matchmaker-like

DH was a friend of a colleague. I met him in The Comedy on Oxenden Street. But I had to leave early as I had chained the office junior up in a hotel room and didn't want to leave him for toooo long.

At school! Had vaguely known him for years as friend of friends (he was in the year above me) and then started hanging around together in Sixth form.

He had a car, which helped....

Bubbaloo · 27/08/2007 14:37

At work,17 years ago.
He kept asking me out on a date and after making excuses for about a week,I decided I had nothing better to do,so accepted.Didn't like him at first but he grew on me,we've now been married 10 years and I couldn't imagine life without him-love him lots.

IdrisTheDragon · 27/08/2007 14:39

In our first week at university. The person who lived in the room next door to me met him in the medical queue (with another person) and the four of us went out for Pizza with vouchers from the freshers pack.

Had to remove his girlfriend from home but we've now been together nearly 13 years and married for just over 8 .

hellish · 27/08/2007 14:41

My friend was invited to a party by her best friend. As she wasn't going to know anyone else, she invited me as well.

DH worked with her friend.

We had a dance together but that was it.

Couple of months my friend had a party and her best friend invited now DH along.

Both pissed, and he invited me back to his place.

He moved in with me 2 months later; we lived together for 4 years and will shortly have been married for 17 years. (Where did all that time go?!

ShakeysGirl · 27/08/2007 14:48

At a pub. Hes a Dj and caught my attention. He was difficult to get to talk to though as there was always a crowd of girls around the DJ box Ended up going for a curry as a group one night and people kept getting lost or going home on the way and it ended up being just me and him eating. We spent the night together and have been together ever since

grouchyoscar · 27/08/2007 14:54

Pub...Used to got to the local near college while underage

Dropped in after work the last Saturday before xmas 1990 to say merry crimbo to my mates. I got talking to this bloke about records. I was really chufffed as I'd got one of the NMEs albums of the year for 50p as they'd put it in the 12" sale. He had it too and thought it was fab...A few beers later I fell asleep inside his trenchcoat.

A few uncomfy embarrased meetings later I told him I wasn't ready for a relationship. He said OK but he wanted to be friends and we'd leave it at that. We went to see a band at the Duchess of York (RIP) in Leeds and that was it...16.75 years later, 1 mortgage,1 wedding, 1 DS, hundreds of gigs and records later, we're still together.

And I sisn't want a relationship I just married my bestest friend!

ImBarryScott · 27/08/2007 15:44

Met at a university Valentine's disco. My friend was at the same college as DH, so introduced us, before buggering off to pull some other chap. we got on like a house on fire (think he was impressed with my extensive knowledge of second division football )and 8 years on we have our lovely DD.
