  1. The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. Know your worth.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Treat others as you'd like to be treated 12. Any relationship you have that could get ruined by having a conversation about your feelings, standards and/or expectations wasn't really stable enough to begin with 13. The things you choose to ignore/ tolerate now are the reasons you will break up in the future

Just trying to sort out a date for date 2 😬. I can’t stop grinning like an idiot 😂

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 11:34

I think you are doing the right thing echo....if I had listened to that rule about things that annoy you early will annoy you more later I would have avoided many a sub standard relationship.

Nice one Jane, happy for you 🙂

Talking to Mr Solvent all last night, he seems a really chilled, nice guy but he's quite a lot older than me. I don't mind older, and normally prefer it, but he's also a long way away.

Mr Bad Back clearly isn't interested, so I'm not wasting any more time there.

Jane1978xx · 16/11/2019 12:06

Why do you think he’s not interested? Not messaging back or his way of messaging?

TigerDater · 16/11/2019 12:12

They Fuck You Up by Larkin. Tells it how it is

MoreNiceCereal · 16/11/2019 12:14

Ahaaa I love that poem too, though too late on the not having children part. Grin

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 12:18

@Jane...he goes online but doesn't message me, I've started every conversation. I need a guy to at least show a bit of interest 😂

Jane1978xx · 16/11/2019 12:25

What app is it ? Some show on line when you are just on your phone. Also men do that 🤷🏼‍♀️. The one I met last night often replies one word answers 😂. But in real life didn’t stop talking. If he’s replying at all he’s interested

TigerDater · 16/11/2019 12:26

I knew it before I had the DC, didn’t stop me! I sometimes think the three of them chose to have me rather than the other way round. But the line ‘they don’t mean to, but they do’ kind of makes it all ok

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 12:52

On pof Jane x

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 12:53

Did @ambiguous go on the date?

Jane1978xx · 16/11/2019 13:08

On Pof when you show online even if you go on something else with the app open like if you text or go on internet

Sosounhappy · 16/11/2019 13:22

So Mr Busy as I will call him. Sent me a strange message yesterday clearly meant for somebody else and has now gone quiet. 😂😂

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 13:38

I keep having chats, but no one asks me any questions

Jane1978xx · 16/11/2019 13:44

I don’t think many men do 😂.

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 14:06

It's like pulling teeth, they reply to any questions asked but won't initiate anything themselves.

Lovemusic33 · 16/11/2019 14:13

I have men ask me questions, I’m the one that hates asking stuff. So can work both ways.

TimeTravellingDiamond · 16/11/2019 14:23

I've posted on here under another name before. Just had a crappy experience and stupidly feeling a bit shaken...

I matched with someone on tinder who I had a very brief fling with a year ago. He was my neighbour- I really liked him but he didn't feel the same, or was put off by my personal circumstances at the time.

I only swiped right out of curiosity! I genuinely didn't think he would. Woke up the next morning and we'd matched. Sent short friendly hi message. Didn't expect a reply. Got a friendly reply and not too long after he asked if I wanted to meet up tonight.

I messaged this morning to ask if we're still on, yes, all seems fine. He asked for my number to text me. I've had no message yet and when i looked on tinder he's unmatched me! Feel really crappy now.

I also have a situation with another guy who I really like who doesn't feel the same and I can't bring myself to tell him. We're fwb but I want more.

Ugh. I know it's my fault for being so stupid but why is it so hard all the time.

I have just been chatting to someone and they sent me a naked pic 🤮 why! We weren't talking about anything.

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 14:37

@time travelling sorry to hear you are having a bad time.

Do you mean the neighbour you were meant to see again? Or a new guy.

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 14:38

@shitwithsugaron, MrB sounds nice, bad spelling it a pet hate of mine too.

TimeTravellingDiamond · 16/11/2019 14:40

Sorry I meant it was the neighbour who I matched with and who has now inexplicably unmatched me after asking for my number

saltysally · 16/11/2019 14:51

Just popping in on the earlier conversations to say I live in the SE and don't like Bumble. I don't like the timer thing. People will contact you if they want. I don't like it on the friendship section either. I did pay for it and don't regret that. I've already made a couple of good female friends from it but I won't be going back on the dating side.

Jane1978xx · 16/11/2019 14:51

@shitwithsugaron I guess it varys by person. What I think I’m trying to say is if they don’t ask a lot of q’s but answer all yours doesn’t mean they aren’t interested. I had one man tell me texting was hard as they have bigger fingers 😂 but maybe that was meant to be rude

bangheadhere40 · 16/11/2019 15:00

Haha Jane....Mr BadBack I decided to message, he is being friendly. I do seem to like him.

I was talking about pof though and he says he's not chatting to anyone, it's not going well. I'm thinking you are chatting to me 😮
