Revenge body anyone?

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 19/09/2018 17:24

So basically I experienced missed miscarriage, got cheated on, emotionally abused and dumped by my ex three months ago. I felt destroyed , literally broken for the first month but now I am starting to feel stronger (thanks to the supportive people on mumsnet who commented on my threads) . Trouble is I’ve been comfort eating since the break up and have put on 3 stone. 😱
I am always usually in good shape and have competed before.

Anyways long story short I’m goIng to start training again from Monday, with the aim to get my six pack back! I thought it would be nice if maybe others wanted to achieve a revenge body then I could help you with diet/ training and we can all support each other and get in shape for the festive season (Christmas party dresses ahoy) . I am not going to charge anyone for this obviously (before anyone starts to think of this as a plug for Personal training , I don’t do it for a living ). 😬

Can I join too? I’m getting revenge on age - i’ve Put on a couple of stone since I hit 40 😂

I’ve got a rowing machine and weights at home that i’ve Been using sporadically for a few months. I haven’t made any changes to my body, but that’s because I exercise a week then rest for a month - I am determined to become a gym bunny!

I’ve got an appointment soon with a body transform person - she’ll take body fat % measurements, etc and give me advice and I’ll take it from there.

In the meantime I’ll start fasted cardio and compound weight lifting at home - do you recommend HIIT cardio or just keep going steady for 20 mins?

Lily007 · 21/09/2018 18:09

Hello FuckItPassMeTheWine

I’m going to try to do as much as I can - the alcohol is my downfall 😬

I also suffer with Fibromyalgia so exercise can be a bit problematic but I’ll give it a go 👍😘

shambahome1 · 21/09/2018 18:34

Mrs Shamba is size 10/12, and 63kg and wants to lose 10kg, we're discussing as I think this is too much and 5kg would be more realistic/healthy in say 2 months, any thoughts on this?

But she will be following and this may be the boost she we both need.

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 21/09/2018 18:42

Thank you fuckit, and hello :)

I've had a great day today - hit my (small) step target, three good meals and a load of herbal tea and water. Now I'm bloody exhausted, but will stay awake until a reasonable hour to burn more calories!

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 21/09/2018 19:22

@Smellyrose welcome to the thread ☺️, so I do LISS rather than HIIT when I do cardio. LISS is low intensity steady state cardio , the reason I prefer this is because I do cardio fasted . HIIT can be quite intense and your body may then choose to burn into your muscle as a way of getting energy quickly .That’s why some people who do a lot of cardiio May feel that their bum looks flat or they aren’t seeing enough definition/muscle tone. Hope that makes sense? Xx

@shambahome110kg is a good target and is achievable with consistency , but it should always be done at the individuals own pace ☺️ Welcome to the thread xx

Thanks, Fuckit, I’ll stick to LISS - do I need to be teaching a certain heart rate?

Fairydust26 · 21/09/2018 21:00

Count me in too I’m more than ready to get my revenge body!💪🏻😁.

dietstartsmonday · 21/09/2018 21:14

Can I join too. I joined slimming world and lost a stone but need to lose two more and tone up.

I am not active and that's my biggest issue so some beginner work outs would be fab

3littlesandme · 21/09/2018 21:22

So I've managed to stick to 1200 calories for the day. It's going to be a struggle but I can manage, I think

PrudenceDear · 22/09/2018 08:33

Would anyone mind if I joined too? I just need to get revenge on the shit I’ve had lately and build up my confidence again.
I was made redundant last year and have gone from a job running all day to a job she’d I just sit all day. Working full time and with 3 primary aged children I don’t have much time so just tend to grab crap to eat. DH and DC are all meat eaters and I’m veggie.
I’m keen to start the C25K now the evenings are dark! Need to lose about 3 stone.
I struggle to keep motivated so could do with some encouragement
Good luck everyone

legocardsagain · 22/09/2018 09:35

@BeyondAnOmnishambles I also have EDS!

I'm going to try and do 2-3 10 min cardio workouts each day. I'm not sure if this is effective though. Does it have to be all at once to get the fat burning effect? My 'problem' is my joints ache and are so wobbly I have to stop way before I feel out of breath. Not sure I'm hitting the zone for fat burning.

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 22/09/2018 09:40

I'm doing (having seen it linked on another thread recently) Leslie Sansons walk at home videos on YouTube. It's 10mins marching on the spot - which I can manage, though I couldn't walk normally for 10 mins, which is roughly 1km, and I'm getting about 6mins cardio according to my Fitbit. A few days I've managed it twice in a day. Baby steps for now... :)

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 22/09/2018 12:00

Morning all 🙋🏻‍♀️☺️
@Smellyrose I try to get my heart rate between 150 - 160 but as long as your sweating it’s all good 😬 xx

@Fairydust26 welcome to the thread lovely 😊 xx

@dietstartsmonday hello and welcome ☺️, I’ll be posting some home workouts over the weekend as well as gym workouts xx

@3littlesandme you can do so do it lovely! 💛💪🏼 Think of how amazing you’re going to look 😁 xx

@PrudenceDear welcome to the thread ☺️ Let’s do this 😬xx

@legocardsagain anything is better than nothing at all , have you tried swimming ? Does that still hurt your joints? Exercise bike are also good for low impact , have you tried? Xx

@BeyondAnOmnishambles that sounds like a fabulous idea, let us all know how you get on 💛 xx

Thanks for posting your first workout. What kind of weight levels are you lifting for this?

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 22/09/2018 12:52

@ResistanceIsNecessary hiya 🙋🏻‍♀️ So when I first started lifting I was warming up on 3kg dumbbells and then 5kg for the remaining sets. I now warm up on 10kg dumbells and use 12kg for the remaining sets .
Start off light is my recommendation and see how you go. It should feel difficult on the last two to three reps, that’s how you know the weight you’ve selected is appropriate Smile xx

So this is the homework out for arms (targeting those bingo wings and getting nice toned arms ) the last two exercises I have incorporated resistance bands. These are fairly cheap , I got mine from sports direct but there’s also lots available on eBay / Amazon. 😬

The mornings are a bit of a rush for me but I do a 40 min walk before havingbreakfast at work. If I pick up the pace and walk really fast will this cut it as fasted cardio? Or could squeeze in 10mins of something sweaty before doing the above?

FuckItPassMeTheWine · 22/09/2018 18:20

@DialsMavis Hiya 🙋🏻‍♀️, yes the walk will deffo cut it as fasted cardio ☺️ . Xx

legocardsagain · 22/09/2018 18:37

@FuckItPassMeTheWine unfortunately I can't do swimming as I have bursitis in my foot. Swimming makes it worse and is the last thing I need on top of my other daily pain!

I have a cross trainer in the garage and I've managed 10 mins on it, I'm building up to 12. Was thinking of just popping in to the garage when I feel able to. Trying to aim for 3 sessions per day plus sit ups.

If I only manage 10 mins or so before breakfast, is that still fasting cardio? Or should I have breakfast first? I'm lost in all this and don't know what to do for the best!!
