Just starting a new thread on Juan's orders. She'll be back when she feels up to it.

Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

Evening
Thank you Horse Cake and Drama :)
Cake - Ikea in the summer holidays ? - I don't envy you , though I am guessing DS may like the ball pool :) I love Chinese , and it is so easy to just keep on eating...
Drama - wow - much respect - the airing cupboard ! I am truly dreadful, and just keep bunging things in mine . It is one of my failings.
I will be honest - proper cycling is beyond my comprehension in terms of people doing it for 'enjoyment' .....
Selena Chasing and Juan - hope you are okay , Sunday can be a very lonely day
Sleep tight all
Thoughts and Prayers

DramaAlpaca · 29/07/2017 23:08

book thank you, and mine is a walk-in too so it was a big job. I had to get DS to get all the stuff down from the back of the top shelf as I couldn't reach - I'd forgotten half of it was there. Lots of manky old sheets to be thrown out or recycled now.

As for the cycling, it keeps him fit, slim & out from under my feet Grin But no, I wouldn't enjoy it either.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 30/07/2017 07:26

Morning! It rained all night but the sun is out now, so hoping my plan will work out. DS has a party to attend in the park, so the boys will be going to buy a present and go, the girls will walk to the library and spend some time looking at books and have lunch before joining them.

DH did our airing cupboard - that's how you know you've got a keeper!

Willow I hope that you manage to enjoy some of your time with the boys. I try and keep a diary of good things, regardless of how small as I often get bogged down in the tantrums or sulking and forget the fun bits. Makes good reading when you need a lift.

While away, we walked into a beautiful church. DD lit a candle for her granddad who passed away last year and I did for all the loved ones being missed here.

Thinking of you all x

Morning!

Just lying in bed contemplating getting up.

Today I am having a 'mooch day'. I am going to town and going to wander around, on my own and go to Caffè Nero Smile

I have had a tough month one way and another, so a bit of 'me' time is required.

Hope everyone has a good day - my airing cupboard is on my To Do List. Should make DH do it really, as most of the stuff in it is his!!!

bookbook · 30/07/2017 09:23

Morning all
It is beautiful here this morning, which has rather flummoxed me. It said it was going to be solid rain overnight and this morning, so I had sorted out in my head what was going to be happening. Now I can go and do a bit at the allotment, so need to shift myself and get going.
DH normally ends up doing the airing cupboard - but that usually means he has put all his stuff away (and hanging up mine to be fair ) , but leaving a pile of the bed of t- shirts and tops, as he doesn't know what to do with them ..... But at least then , I do get around to it.
I am terrible at getting rid of old sheets and towels - I have a linen cupboard full of them. But , they do come in handy now and then , and I am a bit better at getting rid of the really bad ones . DH takes most of the sheets to tear into rags for his workshop :)
Whenever I bought a new duvet , the old one was cleaned and put away carefully. When we finally got a loft ladder so I could get up there I was a bit embarrassed - there were eight old duvets in linen bags Blush .I did keep two for spare, and sent the rest to the Salvation Army !
Cake - sounds full on !- Is your Library open on a Sunday?
Horse - sounds like a nice morning .
Hope everyone has a nice day

Chasingsquirrels · 30/07/2017 11:36

I know many of you are also posting on David's thread.
I can't speak for him, but I can't tell you how much it has meant to me - in the loneliest hours - to know that there are people out there who take the time out of their lives to care about others who they don't know.

Willow2017 · 30/07/2017 11:41

Aarrggh lost post.
Morning all.

Rained here overnight too but Sun shining between the clouds so washing out.
I've been putting washing away out airing cupboard too😀 ironing done and kitchen floor and tidied. What an exciting life I lead😀
Horse sounds like a plan. Have an almond croissant for me😉

Kids dad is coming over later that's gonna be fun conversation.

Book I am the same so every so often I have to have a good ol clear out.

bookbook · 30/07/2017 14:16

Afternoon all
Chasing - I am so glad that the little we can do does help through the dark times. I do tend to think I know you - maybe not in RL, but through the important feelings and thoughts that you are able to share with us ((hugs))
Willow - wow , how busy have you been !
I went to the allotment - spent all morning digging more potatoes, picking french beans , courgettes - swapping veg ( I got a cauliflower and a cucumber !) . Just starting to pick autumn raspberries too.
Home for a bacon sandwich. Tidied all the kitchen, went and did a bit of weeding and planting in the garden
I am now sat down listening to GQT , DH is fiddling around outside with the hedge trimmer - it has decided it doesn't want to cut hedges today . He could be out there a while :)
Just about to pick up my crotchet and relax now
Have a good afternoon all x

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 30/07/2017 19:30

Hello

book yes, they are open 11-2 on a Sunday (something I grumble about, but handy when you need books Wink)

We've had a good day all round and spent a good half hour chatting to my mum just now.

Horse I realise more and more how important it is to look after myself. I had a shower this morning and did all the imaginable grooming - felt great, till I came out and could hear them arguing Hmm

Squirrel I don't know who David is, but I too feel like I know you and I get a lot out of this thread too, so don't ever feel it's one way traffic.

No word from Juan since last Sunday. Will report if I hear anything.

Willow my washing is out too - we had one shower at 1pm while out, but it's mostly dry now. Hope talk with DS and ex goes OK.

Need to have an early night tonight. Ended up "window shopping" for a car last night and it got way too late.

A lovely day here, my 'Me' time was much appreciated Smile

I find I am needing 'Me' time more and more though; not sure what's happening there, although my DC are only 19mths apart, so it was quite full on for a long time and now the youngest is (hopefully) off to uni in Sept, so maybe that's why.

Work tomorrow and another showery week according to the Countryfile forecast Sad what has happened to our Summer?!

SelenaValentina · 30/07/2017 21:59

I second that, squirrels. DH died at 6 pm exactly four weeks' ago, and at 5 55 this evening one cuddly cat jumped on my knee and stayed there for 2 hours, purring and nudging. Then her brother arrived with a less than graceful plonk, but purring too.

I've dumped some stuff at the tip, with kind bloke there helping me. Had physio + acupuncture on my shoulders, carrying all stress there apparently! Bliss! and I now feel so much lighter.

Weather good all morning, breezy, then bit of mizzly rain around 2 - 3, cleared out and towels even dried outside. Here at least, I don't think it's been such a bad summer so far, especially in comparison with a couple of years ago. Guarantee we'll now have monsoons for weeks but it is school holidays in our area so to be expected.

Horse, 'Me' time is really important for all of us, I think anyway.

No sorting done today and back Navigatoring tomorrow afternoon, then Spinning so not much being done tomorrow, either!!

Hope 'the conversation' went well, Willow

Horsemad · 30/07/2017 22:23

Flowers Selena

DramaAlpaca · 30/07/2017 22:24

Horsemad I seem to be finding I need 'me' time more as they get older too for some reason. My eldest two are very close in age as well, 16 months, and we've had various stresses and strains over the last couple of years that have made me feel quite wiped out. I'm hoping my solo holiday next week will recharge the batteries.

Selena Flowers for you, four weeks in. You sound like you are coping so well.

Weather grotty here today. I've been mainly doing housework but didn't get as much done as planned. I keep breaking out in a sweat every time I get into something and have to take a break. Bloody menopause!

bookbook · 30/07/2017 22:46

Evening all
just put the crotchet down.
Selena - Flowers - animals are incredible, no doubting.
The strain is different to when the children are little to when they are growing/grown up - I find I still worry over them , and as you get older that tells on you mentally rather than physically. Also it seems to me everyone wants a bit of you too. - so yes 'Me ' time however fleeting is important to recharge batteries - mental and physical.
Drama - total sympathy from me . I was incredibly lucky that it wasn't too bad during the day, but sleeping was another matter , and I rather think I was a bit mental too - maybe sleep deprivation while trying to keep all the plates spinning. .
We have had no rain here today at all, after a horrible forecast - just weird weather.
Chasing - hope the DS are safely home with you, and you can relax with them.
Thinking of you all
Sleep tight
Thoughts and Prayers x

DramaAlpaca · 30/07/2017 23:13

Yes book my body temperature has completely changed, and at night I only need a sheet over me otherwise I'm too warm. I can't really complain too much, that's my only symptom apart from a lot bit of forgetfulness.

Anyway, off to bed in a minute, work tomorrow.

Thinking of Juan.

Willow2017 · 31/07/2017 00:34

Flowers for Selena. Animals are very sensitive, they know more than we give them credit for.
When I was doing my nursing I could never surprise my parents when I was coming home as my GSD would go and wait at the door for me! Once I came across someone who had run out of petrol (pre mobile days) and I took them to the garage, got petrol and took them back. My mum couldnt understand why the dog was at the door then went and lay down and did it again (and I never appeared) then went back to door again and this time I appeared.! Evertime I had went past on the main road (too far away for her to hear the car) she had went to the door but of course I didnt turn off into the village till the last time!

I get the 'shoulder and neck' thing too, its pretty prickly at the moment cant imagin why Grin glad you got some relief from the physio and acupuncture.

Day went ok, support from ex, he had a long chat with ds, I heard my baby crying upstairs saying he didnt want to be like this, he hated what he had done, I was sitting with tears rolling down my face.

Plan set out to sell some of his stuff to make it real to him as the savings arent real, he didnt save it himself. Rules in place and threats to lock his phone apart from emergency numbers made if he doesnt stick to them. He isnt happy but tough cheese. He is ok with doing chores and towing the line (well for now Grin). We also discussed trying to get a weekend/holiday job and ex said he will pay digs and some of the debt off from it and can keep the rest to save up for his gaming stuff. (I will put the 'debt' money in his bank account as am taking it out now) Not holding my breath as jobs are few and far between round here but you never know. I think it would be good for him.

Am not expecting miracles, I know how addictive games are I play them myself, and all his mates from school seem to spend their lives on snapchat posting pointless pictures and messages and 'streaks' so I know he feels the pressure. And to be honest he had such a hard time in primary with bullies I am happy he has friends to chat to and play games with, just not 24/7!

Oh well KBO I suppose.

Goodnight all.

Willow2017 · 31/07/2017 00:34

Ooh sorry that was a bit of an essay!

bookbook · 31/07/2017 09:03

Morning all
Bright and breezy here .
Just drinking a cup of tea, then off for a shower. Load of washing in , and some housework bits already done ( does anyone else do housework in their dressing gown ? Blush . Have to be out at 11 to go and do a favour for DD who is away on holiday.
Cake - back to work today I think? Hope you managed a good nights sleep .
Drama - yep, that was me - hot on a night , so disturbed sleep = grumpy and forgetful .
Willow - sounds like a tough night, but maybe an important turning point. If he/you can't find a job for him, is it worth exploring volunteering for some charity near you? Hope you managed to rest and sleep after an emotional evening.
Thinking very much of Juan today, being Monday , but also the rest of you .
Have a good day everyone

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 31/07/2017 15:47

Hello, just back to work. Just taking 5 minutes of sitting before sorting tea. Stayed dry, so we were out for a couple of hours with picnic etc.

Sending hugs to you all Selena , Squirrel , Drama , Willow and horse too. Recharging ourselves so we can keep going is vital.

Not much to report here apart from doing some extra work - Friday and 3 days next week!

book If I could I'd probably clean in my PJs, but I tend to clean after lunch once the majority of crumbs are spread [wink}

Lots of bits to do in town tomorrow including a very important hot choc and pastry I think!

Afternoon!
I too am having a sit down - been ironing for what seems like forever!
We went and sorted out the stuff for DD - and decided to buy a few things to stop and eat on the way home , a glamorous picnic in a lay by . But worth it - took picture of gorgeous clouds - it didn't rain!. :)
I ditto the hugs to all x

Willow2017 · 31/07/2017 17:58

Hi all
Lazy morning and into town pm. Got huge food shop bits and bobs and coffee stop for ds2 and I. As we were leaving put my glasses on and lenses fell out! What is it with my glasses and screws? Luckily it happened before I was home so got quick fix at my optician.

Quick light showers only thankfully rest of time sunny.

Lovely photo book looks a lot like roads round my way😀

Thinking of going to Edinburgh tomorrow to see what a happening in festival. Love all the hustle and bustle and street entertainment. Will get park and ride to satisfy kids train love😀

Have a good day peeps.
Thinking of juan as well as 'the regulars'.

Horsemad · 31/07/2017 18:44
