Evening all
I wish I were closer to any of you- I give a fair amount away, I hate to waste any - the freezer is stuffed but its nearly the end of the full on harvest, its a lot more pick what you need from now on :).
I did actually have a very gentle afternoon. DH and I did walk properly to the shops, but after that I sat and did some knitting before tea, and have sat and crotched all evening!
Cake - good to hear DS is feeling a bit better . Banana pancakes sounds nice - a cereal eater here, easy and quick !
Willow have a lovely day at your aunts tomorrow , and have a rest from all that housework
Horse - enjoy the weekend - sorting out any bank account is a right pain - so good luck!
Chasing hoping you have a good day tomorrow . The weather is definitely looking a bit iffy here - warning of a touch of frost tomorrow night
Night, sleep well all
Thoughts and Prayers

Chasingsquirrels · 15/09/2017 23:26

Frost???
I'm not a winter fan - another mild one would be nice.

gingergenius · 15/09/2017 23:35

It's mainly women getting this done! Ask your self why?
Unless society's view that women who look their age are deemed unattractive and therefore disposable, it's never going to change. Bright Bardot refused to succumb and she was vilified because for some reason it's ok for men to grow old, but less palatable when it happens to women.

gingergenius · 15/09/2017 23:36

Oh bugger wrong thread - sorry! Mnhq please can you delete from here?

Horsemad · 15/09/2017 23:52

Grin I did wonder!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 16/09/2017 07:03

Hello Ginger Grin feel free to stay now you've found us.

Morning you lot. Slept OK and up at the crack of dawn... Class bear is dressed for the day Wink

Horse I'm glad you got stuff done.

Meeting arranged with DD's teacher for next week. Determined that this year gets off to a good start and follows through.

Not much else to report...

Horsemad · 16/09/2017 07:25

Been awake forever - DH snoring beside me Hmm

Haircut today then footy (DS2's last match before leaving for uni).
Takeaway tonight, clothes shopping (for DS2) tomorrow.

Lots of laundry in between as well! Grin

bookbook · 16/09/2017 09:21

Morning all
ginger ! {grin]
rather dark and gloomy this morning , it has been raining.
Very slobby - sat in dressing gown, drinking a cup of tea. Need to head off , get dressed and off to my stint at the shop.
Chasing - yep , forecasting it, but it won't happen - but will go down to about 4-5º by looks. We have had very mild winters for a few years now.
Horse isn't that the annoying thing - waking up early on a day when you don't need to be up grrrrr . Hope the day stays dry for you with all the washing!
Cake - the bear has a wardrobe /change of clothes ?????
well, jus waiting to hear from DD - a rather short message on fb - poor DGS has got a throat infection it seems - it must have come on a bit quick , she didn't say anything about it last night, and has had to go to OOH . Goodness knows how - he had his tonsils and adenoids out two years ago. Will need to find out if he will need be off school Monday , and go for the day if need be.
Well, better be off
Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 16/09/2017 09:21

Morning all.

Up in empty time to empty airing cupboard and get stuff ready to take with us before swimming. Wi-Fi actually working at pool today miracle!
Drizzly rain still with us getting annoying now😀 put wash on but ds1 can hang it up indoors.

Have a good day all (Cake hope bear behaves😀)

Chasingsquirrels · 16/09/2017 09:22

Have fun with the bear cake, I used to hate having it home!

Just wrote a long post full of thoughts and feelings, and it didn't post. Surfice to say I'm missing John.

Hope everyone has a good day.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 16/09/2017 16:32

Hugs for you Squirrels

We've ended up having a fairly quiet day including eating lunch and pop corn slobbed out in front of telly.

Yes, the bear has clothes and his own teddy -WTF!?

book poor GS. Hope he isn't too poorly, but I'd imagine Monday will be a no go for school.

I have washing on the line for once!

Horsemad · 16/09/2017 19:59

Heavy showers here today, thank God for tumble dryers!

Sorry you are feeling sad chasing, are the boys back tomorrow? I am going to copy your idea and get DS1 to cook one night a week once his brother's gone to uni.
He isn't too impressed Hmm

I do hope your little DGS is starting to feel better book; always the way at the beginning of term, poor thing.

That bear sounds a bit entitled Cake! Shock I remember mine bringing one home, I was worried sick I'd lose the blasted thing!

Willow - it sounds as if you're having the same weather issues as us, I am heartily fed up of rain!

bookbook · 16/09/2017 21:20

Evening all
Chasing - I do hope you have managed a nice day (hugs) - and tomorrow is better if the weather holds for you
Cake - nice to hear you are having a quiet day - sounds good!
Horse yep, rain here in the morning , a small window of dry , and then mizzle here .
I was actually quite busy in the end this morning - 1 hour at our little shop ending up being a lot longer, with people coming before we were open ( except I was already there) and after we were supposed to close - such is the way. But we ( stock buyer and me) managed to get quite a lot of other stuff done - checking and pricing up new stock etc .
This afternoon a bit quieter - shopping, sorting out some paperwork.
Feet up now, had a lovely hot bath , and about to start crotchet.
DGS is not too bad, a bit of a cough, so tired but not ill as such. He has had much more serious infections since he was born ( which is why he had the tonsils out so young) . Just annoying as its his school photo day on Monday. DD is going to ask if he can go in , even if just for the photo .Always the way!

Willow2017 · 16/09/2017 22:42

Evening all
Am knackered!
Great day. Out for carvery lunch. Of course ended up in dobies donors and got 4 packets of bulbs to put in pots and 2 books! Never fails. Was very good though and didnt buy a the stuff I would have liked to😀

Say around rest of day eating scones with jam and cream and coffee walnut buns😀😀

Just got back to her as the heavens opened and been raining off and on since. Hate driving in rain and dark. Has anyone noticed more people putting their lights back up to full beam before they have passed you? Got fed up and started flashing them back. Had the lights checked and my mechanic said he had noticed the same and lights were fine.

Cupboard put back together and into Pjs to slob out watching Ncis.

Hope Gds is better pdq Book start of school bug fest. Busy day as usual.

Squirrels ((hugs)) hope you have had a nice day and feeling a bit better tonight.

Horse I dont even have a tumble drier so even more fed up with stupid weather 😀

Horsemad · 16/09/2017 22:46

Shock OMG, I couldn't contemplate no dryer Willow, I'd rather give up the television! Grin

Chasingsquirrels · 16/09/2017 23:21

book hope he is better by Monday and my they take nice pictures of him.

horsemad you will have to post his meals! The kids are going to need a forum to compare Smile.

Willow sounds like a good day!

I have a tumble drier but rarely use it, just for the odd bit of uniform that isn't quite dry. Mainly things get hung on the clothes airer which lives in the conservatory.

Just been to John's mum's for a meal with the boys. His sister & husband were over plus a cousin & husband. BIL had brought a load of hazelnuts and cobnuts off his allotment trees and the boys had a great time cracking them all with hammers. Ds2 has brought a load home to make nut butter tomorrow.

Hope everyone has restful nights.

Willow2017 · 16/09/2017 23:42

Squirrels
Oooh I love Hazelnuts, we used to go to a fairly local place for days out when I was a kid, spent the day splashing around it the burn and picking hazelnuts, heaven. The nut butter sounds delsih.

Feeling the cold tonight, think I will put the heating on, should be working better after its check up and the radiators being bled.

Chasingsquirrels · 16/09/2017 23:56

Definitely cold - ds2 got his onesie out!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 17/09/2017 07:07

Hello, just after I posted that, the heavens opened and I had to rush out to save the washing. No tumble dryer here either. I just do a load a day and manage most of the time.

It is cold! Went for a jog last night, went well.

Sounds like you all had busy/good days. Our day was much needed. Out and about today and then a full on week ahead.

Hope DGS can get his picture done. School can administer ABs but often they feel quite wiped out.

Have a good day all. You're in my thoughts Squirrel along with Juan

Chasingsquirrels · 17/09/2017 07:54

Good to hear the jogging is going well Cake.

Weather not looking great for my WAY NT meet up today. Posted last night and most people dropped out but 2 others still planning on going so now not sure what to do - just looked out of the window and it's pretty foggy / misty as well.

Chasingsquirrels · 17/09/2017 09:00

I decided to cancel - weather looks pretty bad at and forecast rubbish for later.
It will probably turn into bright sunshine in half an hour, but so be it.

bookbook · 17/09/2017 09:08

Morning all
Sun is shining and it is looking lovely outside , there was a bit of mist in the air first thing though.
Cake - we all need those charging battery days - I do have them , I just potter and don't do anything too stressful or heavy duty. I can't just sit though. Yesterday for example , after the paperwork I sat and looked through all my catalogues and did my seed order for the allotment, and then worked out what wool I needed for the winter and ordered that as there was a discount day . Nice stuff to do , not hard :)
Horse - when DD went off to uni , I sent her off with some recipes. All favourite, easy ,things. I typed them up, and laminated them , so she could use them in the kitchen and wipe them down. It was an enormous success with the others she roomed with too..
Willow - I can't resist either - I have just bought a shed load of bulbs for my spring pots . Sounds like a lovely day, but like you rain and dark are not nice to drive in , always too close behind so you get dazzled I find.
Chasing - thats a tricky one - its all well and good if you get on well with the ones who haven't dropped out, but its a small group if you don't . With a bit of luck the weather will improve, and you have a nice day whatever you decide to do
I hope everyone has a good Sunday
and yes , I always think of Juan too

bookbook · 17/09/2017 09:09

pah - cross post there Chasing hope there is something nice you can do?

Willow2017 · 17/09/2017 09:38

Morning all.
Rain through night and early am but Sun trying to peek through clouds this am. Might go brambling later if weather holds.
Slobbingbin front of Saturday kitchen with cuppa trying not to think of the stuff I still need to put up in attic that's cluttering my bedroom, hoovering and ironing.
It's Sunday after all😀
Fingers crossed for photo tomorrow Book.

Squirrels it's difficult when weather so unpredictable. No fun going out in bad weather. You can pick something to do just for you later or slob in sofa too 😉
Cake it's good to have a relaxing day at home with no pressure to do anything but chill together I love a snuggly day in the house with ds2 watching tv. Sadly ds1 not so snuggly these days 😀 but will give cuddles when asked guilt tripped bless him.

Willow2017 · 17/09/2017 19:17

Ok so I put my wellies on and brought trainers to change into.
Put on and hoodie and brought cardi to change into.
So why did I leave the big plastic box to actually out the Bramble and sloes in on the kitchen counter?
What a numpty! I ended up using nappy bags I had in car I hope they don't perfume the fruit too much😁😁 not so many Brambles within reach at this bit and many going over as nobody seems to have been picking them what a waste but loads of sloes. Am wet, hands stinging from nettles, Bramble and rose hips thorny branches but must have a pound of sloes. Going to try slow cheese this year. Wish I had remembered about the Bramble last week (at TWD now)

At least it stopped raining for me. Roasting hot all day and just when washing machine stopped from the time it took me to put it into basket grab pegs and get to door the heavens opened and we had a monsoon for ages. Typical.

Hope weather has been better for you all and you've had a good day.
