Chasing - it must be a very comfy tree Grin so good you are teaching good life skills to your Ds's :)
night all

Willow2017 · 14/09/2017 00:00

You have some rebellious hens there Squirrels Grin

Been hours on this damm pc sorting out problems with ds1's phone (well trying to) and finally sorted my own problem. I hate technology!

Did the other photo album, now just got to sort out all the kids photos.
Am taking phots off my phone and its taking an age! Storage space full cos of the damm game taking it all up. But hopefully will be ok now if I can get rid of the game saves...no idea if I can or not.

Still got toys to go through and keep any worth keeping but am running away tomorrow for a coffee and a bit of me time. Grin

Squirrels my eldest isnt interested in cooking but trying to get him to help now and again. THink I might pinch your idea. DS2 on the other hand is, but nothing as fancy as strogonoff (we dont eat much beef anyway Smile ) but can whip us all up an omlette or do a basic tea.

Chasingsquirrels · 14/09/2017 07:56

Your aren't having much fun with tech Willow, hope you get everything sorted soon.
I inadvertently banned all our devices from the wireless network last night - I was deleting all the unused devices, adding ds2's new phone into his profile and setting the network to just our devices. Unfortunately I did the last bit the other way round and set it to exclude our devices. I was watching GBBO on catchup at the time - so that stopped as did my laptop which I was using to make the changes. Cue mild (major) panic until I remembered I could hard wire the laptop to the modem and regain access to correct it that way. Phew!

We don't usually eat much beef either, very little in fact - maybe that's why they have both chosen it. Hopefully it won't be a recurring theme.

Willow2017 · 14/09/2017 08:42

I don't use a laptop so I wouldn't have a clue what do do if I did that! Modem is at other side of room to pc I would have been screwed!

Sunny this morning but we slept in! 8 o clock I jumped out of bed. Still we made it. Just got to get organised then off to have my coffee and get a few bits of food shopping we need. Then back to sorting out toys.

Hope you all have a nice day.

bookbook · 14/09/2017 09:09

Morning all!
I slept in too - warmer duvet on , and I was a bit too warm, so not a great nights sleep.
gosh Chasing - that sounds very clever ! I have used computers for years and years, and used it quite intensively with my other part time job ( Not that I ever got on with spread sheets :) ) but glad I don't have to think of these things now.
Willow - at least you got your games sorted at last, even if it did mean something else needs sorting!
Cake - hope you got some sleep, and not quite so busy today
Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 14/09/2017 09:28

Gahhhh uploading all my photos and videos to one drive but its taken forever, told me there was no wifi connection, really? Stupid phone. It doesnt usually take so long, should have been done overnight its really not difficult if I can do it surely the stupid phone can do the rest!

Ooooh I need my coffee already.Smile

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 14/09/2017 13:09

Hello, hope that you're stuff have updated now Willow

I wish I could sleep in, but here it was up to 6:45 which is as good as it gets. Had to almost peel poor DS off me at the school so just want home time to come so I can bring him home.

Parents info eve was very informative and managed a quick word with DD's teacher. Won't mention the fact that the step mum showed up, sat with 2 other mums and was wearing a jumper with the word MOTHER printed over it... oops I just did Grin

Have been out for a jog, cleaned the upstairs, done a few admin bits and now need to look at the dyslexia stuff I've been given for DD. Never ending!

Squirrels your hens crack me up! How did they stay up in the tree through the wind we've had? Good on you for making the boys cook/bake - such an important skill.

book I hope that you're having a quieter day. Sounds like maybe you needed it? Have you contemplated getting separate duvets?

Catch you all later girls x

Willow2017 · 14/09/2017 14:23

Cake what an idiot she is hope everyone thought so too. Hope you get time for a cuppa reading that info.

Well managed to sort out most of it stupid phone. Tried cancelling and uploading again and it tried to do the same stuff 3 times! I was furiously deleting stuff before it uploaded😀 just got the videos to do. Managed to transfer my game to the card but I don't know if that's good or bad 😃
The 'life is out to get me' theme continued in town. My usual carpark full with cars prowling round like leopards honing in for a kill. Saw someone pull into a space someone was waiting for right in front of them! I went elsewhere 😀
Spent more than planned in supermarket as usual. Kids eatingbme out of hoiysevand home. They are always starving after school and got minded kid tomorrow too.
Been sorting through all the baby/toddler toys. Seem to have more stuff piled up in living room than before I started! I hope i can sell most of it to local cm' s or it will have to be the hassle of local pages.
Oh and the leg fell off my glasses, screw came out but as it's the second time in a couple of months they have fallen apart ( and when the woman at Optitians put a new screw in the lens fell out!) They have ordered a new pair for me. Never again will I get that type. Can't change them as they cost too much.

Am starving but can't be bothered making something, oh well it won't hurt to go without quite the opposite in fact😀

Willow2017 · 14/09/2017 14:24

Please excuse jumbled words!

bookbook · 14/09/2017 15:02

Afternoon all
just sat down with a cup of coffee.
well - sleep in for me was 8.15 , a bit surprised , but yes I do think separate duvets may have to be the way to go. I am always warm, but DH has a chronic illness, which means he is always cold ,which makes the pain worse , so its hard to strike a balance .
Cake poor DS , has he not quite settled back in? Hard for you, it makes you feel so guilty doesn't it. And dear me with the stepmum - I bet anyone in the know would cringe at that...
Willow - your house will eventually be sorted , after all the cm stuff has gone, just focus on that . I think car parking space riles so many , definite parking rage goes on. I steer well clear if at all possible ( Mind you, annoyingly DH has a special power - he drives up anywhere and a car pulls out in just the right place - not sure how he does it, but it has happened for years!)
I have been to the allotment, and did the ironing that I didn't do yesterday . Just before coffee was up stepladders picking pears - there are a lot to do, and I thought I had better start on the low lying branches as the wind the other day brought a few down. So about 10 lb picked , just another oooh 20-30 lb to do - but that is DH up a ladder and me with big buckets catching them Grin

Chasingsquirrels · 14/09/2017 16:11

omg at stepmum! Is she a mum in her own right? Even so it seems somewhat, umm, mad to wear it to your dd's event.

We (habit there - I) have a main duvet then a single which goes on top in whichever combination of who needs (needed) it. So when John was having night sweats last year I had the single duvet over me, if we were both cold it went sideways over both of us, etc.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 14/09/2017 20:19

She is a mum yes, but still freakin weird!

Willow2017 · 14/09/2017 20:58

Omg I am running away that's it!
Spent over an hour applying for 3 jobs yes 3. You have to register on the website, tell them your life story then get an email them then fill in the stupid questionairre. Argh tea was late I was sick to death of writing the same unadulterated bs to them all.

Now apparently Firefox can't find Google. Wonder where it has gone? Bleeping windows updated itself and pc running like a snail and apparently lost in the internet 😀😀

Give me strength.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 14/09/2017 21:27

Oh no willow how frustrating!

I'm in bed trying not to be cross with DH who just said: I don't need to be up early as I don't have to be in work till later.

Told him the right thing to say is: you stay in bed in the morning and I will take the kids to school.

For the record DS was absolutely vile this tea time till I got him off to sleep. Thank goodness it is Friday tomorrow.

Hope all is well with everyone technology aside sleep well

Willow2017 · 14/09/2017 21:38

Cake
Tried everything then gave up and switched the damm thing off and restarted...its working! We have gremlins I am sure.

You tell your dh to get used to the fact he is up with ds tomorrow, let you have a long lie for a change, you certainly deserve it. (or the 'Aunties' will be round to get him Wink )

Need to take kids to school tomorrow so no plodding around in pjs Smile bit of a problem with the lift but hopefully be sorted next week or I will have to start doing it regularly. The person is lovely but they are getting later and later picking them up so they are late for school registration. Hopefull will be ok wouldnt want to fall out over it and spoil the arrangement which suits us both. Always something here!

bookbook · 14/09/2017 22:44

Evening ladies
Just finished a bit of crotchet for a new Woolly Hug , wanted to get it finished .
Willow - isn't that what all internet repairers do - switch in off, and on again, and charge the earth? What a tedious job answering stupid questions . It's enough to make you want to hide under a blanket . Hope the lift gets sorted, it does mess up the day having to get out of the door.
oh Cake - I'm hoping it is a better day tomorrow. Is DS just tired, or is more going on? DH's are all like that at times - nice words not actions.
Chasing - may have to go down that route , -it might just work. DH normally ends up draping fleece blankets on his side of the bed. Whatever we do, it needs to be lightweight, so thats a thought.
Well, chocolate and bed for me
night, sleep tight all
Thoughts and Prayers

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 15/09/2017 10:23

DH has the get out of jail free card due to his insomnia/bad sleeping...but I'm only human and crave a lie in. As it happens, the whole house was up early and I walked the children to school as it was sunny.

Have a good day. Just doing my Cinderella bit for the day and then meeting a friend for a quick cuppa before school run and play with friends after school.

DS is exhausted, but I wonder if something is brewing. Also a big adjustment from reception to yr 1.

Chasingsquirrels · 15/09/2017 11:44

Cake hope ds isn't sickening and it is just getting back into routine and he settles soon. Cam you have a low pressure weekend?

Willow turn it off, wait a while then turn it back on is always my default. Hope the lift situation gets sorted.

book have you got decent weather for the allotment today?

I'm not at work (normal routine is Mon - Thu) so had a lie in this morning, well went back to bed after I got up and helped ds2 with learning the Hannah Montana Hoedown Showdown for his dance lesson today. He's been watching it on YouTube week but didn't seem to grasp that it needs a bit of active learning rather than just watching!

Boys with their dad tonight, so early tea for ds2 then I drop him at judo. Ds1 usually goes to see his girlfriend in Fri evenings but she is at guide camp so not sure of his plans. Then ex collects him at 8pm and goes on to collect d2 from judo.

No plans for tonight or tomorrow atm, then dinner with the inlaws tomorrow evening and a WAY event at a local NT place on Sunday, and Sunday evening meal at my parents. Weather not looking great for Sunday though.

bookbook · 15/09/2017 11:57

Morning all
well, just got sidetracked this morning.
Raining when I got up, but stopped luckily I was doing committee work at the allotment this morning for an hour, and then a tiny bit of tidying up at my plot, the lady on the plot next to me came and wanted a chat. So we did, and then it started to look like rain again, so I came home . So no real work done this morning at all !
No plans for the rest of the day , but I do need to pick some more tomatoes to roast , but thats just a little thing, and need to go to the shops and pick up a few bits for meals .
Cake I think its a big jump from reception to yr 1, a lot more focused. I hope its just a bug - they do tend to pick them up at the beginning of term . I know DD does, and she's the teacher!
Chasing - sounds like me, no plans for today/tonight. I have a stint in the horticultural shop tomorrow morning ( it may just be a bit busier - its yearly subscription time)
It is looking rather black here, and it was cold last night too , have a bit of gardening that needs doing, and I may get DH to pick pears - I am giving them away in carrier loads at the moment. I am going to do the pear and lemon jam too. magi kindly pointed out the mistake in the recipe, so will give it a go

Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 15/09/2017 15:20

Afternoon all.

Busy day house work, sorting clean washing etc. Job hunting as usual.
(Omg this web page is jumping around like a manic on my phone.)
Made flapjacks with a thin covering of choc orange chocolate. Hmmm.
Kids helped make banana bread which is oven smelling delish.

Going to my aunt's tomorrow with ds2 so will take some with us (her kitchen is always stuffed with cakes and scones for us coming so will repay the compliment)

Been sunny but cloudy all day just got washing in as the rain started so won't be going for walk with kids now ( no Bramble picking 😐)
Cake hope it's not a bug. They seem to get loads when they start school.

Book I don't believe it! A morning of not doing much 😀 sounds like you are making up for it though.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 15/09/2017 20:00

Hello, just sitting down.

Sounds busy ladies!

He seems in much better spirits today and got the class bear for having followed the golden rules Smile

Thank ye Gods it is Friday. Going to sit and eat some trifle and relax a bit.

Book, I wish you were close to me for some of the cast off fruit and veg Wink and Willow for the baking. Going to do banana pancakes in the morning as I have 2 that got squished in lunch boxes as I clearly put them there for decoration not eating

I'm planning a jog and the boys are going birthday shopping, so hopefully a bit quieter.

Squirrel I hope that the weather holds. Has been raining here since 5, but Sunday meant to be bright.

Horse I hope you survived the week at work.

Sleep well, catch you in the morning!

Horsemad · 15/09/2017 20:31

Aah thanks Cake, I did - no boss today, so was bliss! Grin

Still wrangling with Santander re DS's student account, I am getting tetchy with them now...

Just waiting for DH to come in, he's been out for the day.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Willow2017 · 15/09/2017 21:13

Evening

Still raining off and on its cold too. Had chippy carry out tea but had to wait till after 7 they were so busy!
Got boiler guy coming in morning to service boiler so need to empty out the cupboard of all the linen and towels and shelving. Joy. Will be here after we leave for swimming so will need to shut bedroom doors as ds1 will still be in land of nod 😀

Hope weather is better in am to drive to aunts don't like driving in pouring rain much.

Cake glad d's is better, well done him. Banana pancakes sound lovely for brekky.
