Just starting a new thread on Juan's orders. She'll be back when she feels up to it.

Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

Oh and not so achy today - just a bit on the side of my torso under my arm which I think is from digging.
Want to get out and do some more bits, but didn't get home until 4.30pm and had shipping to unpack etc and it's raining.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 11/09/2017 18:00

Well done for the sorting willow and squirrel can't imagine how hard it must be to do stuff to do with John.

I'm planning to go jogging at 8pm. Thighs are going to love me. And meeting a friend tomorrow for a walk round a NT property.

Really have no idea other than maybe a sports bra Hmm

bookbook · 11/09/2017 20:35

Evening all

  • sat down with a cup of tea. Ended up running out of time today - roasting tomatoes took longer to sort than I anticipated ( there were a lot - 2 big roasting trays full and once cool getting rid of skins and blitzing is a bit tedious) . So had to dash to go and pick up DGS from school. Came home virtually straight after eating a meal with them all, to dash out to committee meeting. Chasing , that was a very kind thing to say - thank you :) . I am feeling sorry for the tree hen now ...hope she is just expressing her individuality! Good that you are not so achy too :) Willow wow , I bet it will make quite a difference changing the filing cabinet - once its gone, I bet the room seem a lot bigger ! Cake hope the run went well , and it stayed dry. It has rained on and off all today - well very heavy, regular showers with a beautiful rainbow after one . Going to slob and do a bit of crotchet now Have a good evening
Willow2017 · 11/09/2017 20:59

Evening all.

Ooh am paying for all that leaning over folders of stuff. Base of my neck is louping , someone is punching a nerve with pliers I think.

Not had time to do anymore. Took ds2 for the food shopping, by time we got back, ate, put shopping away and did packed lunches its too late now. Am too tired and dont care about the mess on the table. What a rebel 😀😀 but still got washing to sort into piles no rest for the wicked.

Have booked the local youth theatre panto for us all am determined to be organised and have stuff to do over Xmas apart from just Edinburgh Xmas markets. I also looked at stuff on at local theatre for myself. Think it's time I started doing things just for me and getting out the house again. Got a couple of plays earmarked and poss a concert.

After sunny start had to run out and get washing in flipping rain. Has rained off and on since early afternoon.

Hope rain has left you all. Hope you didn't get wet Cake.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 11/09/2017 21:15

Got wet right at the end but I was beyond caring by then. Can barely ge up and down the stairs now! Can't believe some people do it for fun Shock

How is DGS enjoying school? Hope tomorrow is a bit quieter for you book

I'm toying with thinking about Christmas but I tend to leave it till DD has had her birthday later in the year. I just know I want to stay put!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 11/09/2017 21:17

That sounds like a great idea willow maybe add a massage to the treat yourself list? Wink

Willow2017 · 11/09/2017 21:47

Ooh that sounds nice in theory but last time (years ago) I treated myself to a massage the woman expected me to strip to my knicks and then get on the table in full view of her! Not gonna happen now I am several sizes bigger! Maybe they dont do that now, was listening to people talking about it on the radio the other day and they said that no masseuse would expect you to be uncovered at any point.

Ex has been having back trouble recently and went to a Chinese therapist and he said she was brutal! He had bruses all down his back but after a couple of sessions plus hot cups and acupuncture he feels his back is so much less scrunched up and not painful now, very relaxed. I dont think I would appreciate the battering tho!

Got my appointment with O2 guy tomorrow, finish the filing stuff and need to use up the bananas, more banana bread I feel Smile I dont think bananas last as long these days, maybe I should get them somewhere else. I even got some new ones today which were partially green but the lower half seem soft already. We all prefer them just ripe and no more.

Book glad to see you had a quiet day today....phhht! you were busier than ever!

Right better get on with the clean washing it wont do itself and the house elves seem to have gone on holiday.

Night night.

Cake I have never ever seen a jogger or runner looking happy. Its nowhere near 'fun'.

bookbook · 11/09/2017 22:33

I love a massage - not had one in ages either, but don't remember having to take too many clothes off - mind you it was neck/shoulders .
DH goes to a specialist physio - totally different approach to his old one, and it is doing wonders. Its all a bit weird, but a lot to do with finding out where the initial problem lies and sorting that. It seems a lot of problems build up as the body tries to adjust to something wrong elsewhere.
thanks for asking Cake - at the moment all is well with DGS - he's enjoying it so far . Asked him what he had been doing - can't remember . What did he have for lunch - sponge and custard - anything else ? peas -with what? can't remember Grin. It was a little joy seeing him come out with tie up around his ear ( shirt and tie and long grey trousers at not quite 5 !) Hope your DS is okay too :)
willow - I do love banana cake. I have stopped buying bananas apart from the odd one for DGS, as I agree, they do seem to go over ripe so quickly these days. I think they keep them so chilled, that when they warm up, they just 'go' . I bet one of those too young geeks will soon sort the phone - well hope so for your sake !
I wonder how Serenas kitchen make over is doing ...
Well, chocolate and bed for me
Sleep tight all
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 11/09/2017 23:05

Book oh I might go for just a shoulder and neck massage, might enquire tomorrow. I have had physio in the past for my problems. All those years of nursing ruined my back shoulders and neck. Should get my exercise sheet out I suppose and see if that helps.

Kids are all the same "What did you do at school today?" = "Stuff" Grin I have to persist and then the floodgates open.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 12/09/2017 06:28

No I've never been asked to do that in view either. She leaves the room and you strip and get under a towel. I had a face massage which also included my shoulders which was heavenly without being exposing.

I've given up asking DS what he does, he tells me random snippets as and when. I just ask if he's had a good day. He goes with packed lunch, so i know what he eats. DD has a timetable which includes double maths and English on Mondays and Tuesdays (torture for her)

Oh yes, Selena's kitchen is hopefully nearly done...

willow I hope Mr O2 can help you today.

Have a good day all x

bookbook · 12/09/2017 10:20

Morning all
sunny, cool , windy here .
I have been a bit more focused this morning
Towels out on the line blowing. I have been and posted some of the newsletters - the rest later this morning.
I had to sit in and take minutes at last nights meeting, so typed them up, emailed them out .
Just about to have a coffee, and then off to the market for fruit and eggs.
Just this week, we are picking up DGS today as well ( other GP's away this week ) so after lunch, off to do that, and taking some of the roasted tomato sauce I made yesterday for tea .
we get snippets too Cake - just tiny bits. Just starting to get the names of who is playing with, that sort of thing :)
Willow - sounds like you need that massage
Hope everyone is okay , and has a good day

Willow2017 · 12/09/2017 12:02

Morning

Well although the guy at O2 fixed the google problem I still cant sign into the play games to save my game! Should have checked before I left! I can get on the play store site just not save the game as even when going through the play games app it says I am not signed in. Bother! WIll need to go back at some point I suppose. And I completely forgot about the massage place.

Sunny and fresh here, washing out, hoovered etc. Just having a coffee before I start on the files again. Oh joy Smile
Not enough hours in the day! Need to split in two to do the files and bake at the same time Smile

Have a good day all.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 12/09/2017 13:44

Hi, met my friend after a half hour journey taking an hour. Had a good time and not too much walking (thankfully).

I'm going to do flapjacks quickly so I have something home made for the lunchboxes.

I'm sure that is why my head is so full book friends, siblings and parents of friends - my brain is awful with names. Sounds like you had a really productive morning!

Oh no Willow that is pants.

Check in with you later. Hope horse and drama et al are OK and wonder how somer and baby are getting on too!

Willow2017 · 12/09/2017 14:34

FInished! Well the filing cabinet is, there is still the excess stuff to find a home for upstairs and a cupboard full of CM stuff to bring down and sort out!

Tried to do my tax return but the damm site crashed. Why does it do that every time I go on? How can something so huge and important have 'error has occured please try later' so often?

Still sunny, the black clouds are being swept on by the wind so got another load of washing out, fingers crossed.

Cake how did the journey take so long? Can you make me some flapjacks too please, will have to wait till after school to do baking now. Just grabbed some toast and banana for 'lunch'.

Onwards and upwards.

Horsemad · 12/09/2017 17:13

Hi I am sick of life being so busy - by that I mean work. I come home with my head completely jumbled because I am so overloaded.

I then have no energy to do the home stuff and there's lots of that too at the moment, what with getting DS2 ready for uni.

Sorry! Am whingeing and mustn't because he'll be gone next week and I'm trying to just relish these last bits before he goes.

It still seems like there is tonnes to do, although I know there isn't really but there IS still stuff to get sorted, if you get what I mean!

Think I need a massage to de-stress Cake & Willow Smile

Your DGS seems to be settling in nicely, book

Hope you are ok chasing Flowers You are very disciplined with the gardening! I just look and plan but don't actually DO enough actual gardening!! Grin
And how is that errant hen? I wonder if she is being bullied? They can be horrible to newbies, can't they? Sad

I saw Drama on another thread fairly recently, so think she's ok.

Hope Selena is having a lovely holiday - weather is a bit rubbish though...

Horsemad · 12/09/2017 17:14

Oh, today my cat caught and ate an entire mouse! Bleurgghh!

Willow2017 · 12/09/2017 19:25

Horse
Aww its hard as you really want to spend time with your DS but life is getting in the way, its always the same isnt it?

Hope you get some 'us' time soon. Its a huge deal for both of you and am sure he is fine about it 99% of the time but that 1% will be thinking he will be missing his mum and home its only natural Smile
Plus when there is stuff to get finished its always when you are busiest and it feels like the world is conspiring against you.

It is a mixed bag for parents isnt it? Proud as punch that their offspring is off into the big wide world, full of confidence that you helped instill but also the sadness that another chapter of your life has closed (even though another has opened) They will always be your babies and you will always want to protect them but you have to wave goodbye with a smile. I am dreading that!

Have been chasing ds2 to get his gps mucked out and fed, he needs to get a shower and get back downstairs if he wants to see Bake Off grrrrr. Suppose I had better go do the dishes now and get myself ready. Always something.

Ok who sent the rain? Had to take the wash in before school time 'just in case' due to black clouds and for once I was right, the heavens opened.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 12/09/2017 20:06

Hey, it rained here too! Didn't have time to take flapjacks out before the school run, so they have stuck on quite a bit. Still tastes the same Wink

Need to do my tax return too - eek!

Willow there was a crash on the motorway that meant people came off and went through town which wasn't helped by roadworks.

I am shattered after a very long day. Going to watch the RNLI boys and leave bake off for when DD is back Thursday. Then bed!

Night all x

bookbook · 12/09/2017 22:29

Evening all
Had a nice afternoon/evening at DD's , home just in time to watch GBBO, and been crocheting since then.
The rain is lashing down, and we are due strong winds overnight. Nice to snuggle in for the night .
Willow - how infuriating about the games !
Tax returns - did them for years for my self employment business, never , ever any problems. Since I have retired, its gone to pot - so I sympathise entirely.
oh Horse - it's all ganging up on you. Its hard enough to be getting ready for emotional stuff, while being so busy at work ( and perhaps being pushed into trying to fit too much in a day) Whinge away, its good to get it off your chest.
well, chocolate and bed for me
Sleep tight all
Thoughts and Prayers

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 13/09/2017 11:24

hi all, quick check in as it's a bit busy here. Been very windy but mostly dry. Check in with you all later.

bookbook · 13/09/2017 15:23

Afternoon ladies
Sunny, blustery day here
Just sitting down for a coffee.
Had a busy morning at the allotment. Two loads of washing -( good flapping weather !) Stripped the bedding, and took pity on DH to put on a warmer duvet, so this afternoon I decided bedroom needing a good spring clean , (well , autumn.. )
been out and posted all the last of my newsletters, and did a bit of hopeful brambling - sadly the brambles had all been strimmed back, so barely any to be had. Ah well, enough to add a bit of bite to the load of raspberries I picked this morning .
So all done, for the day, but may go and do a bit of pottering in the greenhouse.
Hope everyone is well

Horsemad · 13/09/2017 15:54

We've had mainly sun with a couple of heavy downpours and very blustery. Great drying weather - when not raining!

I really ought to decide what we are eating tonight. Spag bol I think with garlic bread Smile

Willow2017 · 13/09/2017 18:15

Hi all.

Cloudy this am them the promised rain arrived getting steadily worse. Bucketing down by 3.30 when i went for kids.

Been stuck in my room clearing out wardrobes. Been going through old photos which I did go through last year but this time have been more ruthless 😀 still got a big album to go through and packets in a drawer!

Put a load of cm paperwork into the attic and threw out yet more paperwork. I can now officially set up in competition with wh Smith due to the amount of Polly pockets and ring binders I have spare.

Let off from TKD this pm as ds2 is aching and freezing cold from double rugby at end of school day.

Dishes await and back to photos.

Book busy as usual, enjoy the fruit. I am sure you have a trick to expand time to get everything done.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 13/09/2017 21:46

Hey all. Just in bed eating smarties - as you do Blush needs must after the loooong day and then back to school for info session.

Horse, my cats used to catch all sorts (back in SA) frogs, huge crickets, mice, birds and most surprisingly a fish!

I'm really hoping we see a bit of sun. September isn't normally so wet and cold...

I've chosen a few bits on Amazon so will have to see what appears next week.

Sleep well x

Chasingsquirrels · 13/09/2017 22:52

Busy couple of days - especially yesterday, didn't stop at all until I went to bed - but lots done.

Ds1 cooked tonight - beef stroganoff.
I have made Wednesday night their responsibility for food. They need to tell me what ingredients they want by the weekend and get on with it. Tonight was the first such occasion. Ds1 called "tea's ready", but had only made the stroganoff and not the things to go with it - so then we had to wait. It was a reasonable attempt but not as nice as he made when he did it last year.
Next week ds2 is doing minute steak and some roasted peppers etc on bagettes.

Both newbie hens up in the tree last night, and what a night for it! Thankfully still here this morning, and back up in the tree tonight.
