Just starting a new thread on Juan's orders. She'll be back when she feels up to it.

Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

morning Willow
it is lovely here - bright sunshine after a cool start.
One load of washing out, another in the machine.
Done all sorts of bits - kitchen floor mopping, freezing veg , tidying ..
Should have been out already, but just waiting for delivery man - due in the next hour. But have to go and take my library books back and do a bit of shopping once he has been.
Well done - £20 is £20 !
I really need to dust , but am browsing stuff on ebay for DD2 . She is so excited - she has just bought herself her dream mixer with a bonus from work, ( we managed to trawl , and find a half price manufacturer refurbished one with a warranty) so I am buying bits for it for her birthday. Really want a little wooden trolley on wheels for it to stand on - her kitchen is tiny , and badly planned ( rented) but DH is saying we need something solid, not one of these rickety ones . We will find one . There looks to be a good one at Ikea , but its a bit big for the gap she has sadly .

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 01/09/2017 15:18

hi, quick wave before next lot of socialising starts. Wish I wasn't such an anxious host. House cleaned from top to bottom and food all sorted - 2 friends whom I've known for 10 years and aren't bitchy or too meticulous themselves, so why do I feel the need?

DD got her hair cut and this morning her shoes, we've been for coffee at a friend's and then the park with DS's class mates (luckily only half showed)

Ready for bed already!

Well done on the win Willow, hope you find a trolley book and horse your boss needs a kick up the arse!

Willow2017 · 01/09/2017 17:53

Owwww!

Hands are stinging and purple but it was worth it. Took younger kids bramble picking and we got over 1 1/2 lbs of brambles and still loads left. All that rain was apparently good for something. Usualy small fruit but lots of plump juicy ones this year. Will have to go back with sticks and gloves and old clothes to get stuck in Smile

Nearly free for the weekend Grin weather picked up so might take kids to the shows in local town this pm.

bookbook · 01/09/2017 22:42

Evening all!
Just a quick check in - had a very lazy afternoon, and sat with crotchet this evening
Cake - don't we all do that ? My house is never as clean as when friends are coming around. Hope you had a lovely evening
Willow - worth al the scratches. I think the free brambles always taste better Grin
we had an almighty rain shower this afternoon, but luckily all the washing was dry .
Thinking of everyone -

We've had some gorgeous blackberries this year. I could eat crumble forever, it's my fave pudding Smile

Off shopping with DS2 today, hopefully to get the last few bits of uni stuff and some new clothes for him too.

My op has been pushed back a month Sad had psyched myself up to getting it done sooner, (am quite scared at the thought of having it tbh) so I am disappointed (if that's the right word!). Still, there are people worse off than me, so I just need to get over myself.

Work is going to be fun on Monday - Boss is back then...

Hope everyone has a nice day Smile

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/09/2017 07:37

That's a good haul! I will take mine out at some point as we haven't made it to a farm to do any picking this year.

I'm just about done in. I'm not great at small talk and there's been a lot of that today!

Tomorrow we are going to a family fun day at the castle and thanks to Tesco points, a meal out too Grin

How is everyone else's weekend shaping up?

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/09/2017 07:40

Hey, I never hit post last night.... hence ^^

Oh no horse that is the pits. It's that mental prep and then a big let down.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one then book We had a lovely time and the house is mostly put back in place - just need to push a hoover round and wash up the BBQ utensils.

Catch you all later. Saw Magi post elsewhere and echt and somer too, so good to know they're still around.

Willow2017 · 02/09/2017 08:26

Morning camper.

Ds2 has swimming then we are going to the beer and food festival in town at some point today.

My hairdryer died on me this morning think it overheated as had it on hottest setting for quickness!

Fair was a bit of a damp squid went on the ride that spins your seat round while going round iyswim (we used to call it the octopus) with ds2 that's as much as I can handle these days😀 he went on dodgems too but no waltser no jungle ride😐then we got Chinese takeout. It's not like it used to be loads of rides and stalls.

Sun shining so fingers crossed for a good day.

Horse that's a pain when you get all psyched up then let down.

Cake enjoy the fun day I remember those ha ha. Exhausting!

bookbook · 02/09/2017 09:25

Morning all
oh Horse - I think you mentally gear yourself up, and try not to get stressed, which is hard in itself, then its very unsettling knowing you have to do it all over again. Its a bit bittersweet buying for uni
Cake - hopefully a relaxing day - after all, the house is clean and tidy now!
Yes I have been on a thread with echt and magi , so all well - seen Drama too .
Hairdryer dying - oh no ( mind you, I am dead lazy - I wash my hair in the shower, brush it and let it dry by itself - always done this - I do have a hairdryer somewhere ....!)
I am just gearing up to get dressed and off to the allotment. DH may well be going out this afternoon for a meet up ( he's not totally sure yet) which means a lovely free afternoon, and tea on my knee - bliss.
Enjoy your day everyone

Willow2017 · 02/09/2017 21:05

Evening all.

Hope you have all had a good day.

DS2 and I went into town. Walking throught the car park he just mentioned that his traners were hurting his toes as they were right at the end! Cue having to go get bigger ones (now he is a bigger size than me!) Went to food festival and tasted lots of treats, bought some things too.

DS1 didnt want to come ( he was up till goodness knows when playing games on pc with friends, he thinks I think he went straight to sleep when I went to bed....sleeping on armchair this morning!) he got up when we were leaving and said he wanted to do his homework Shock now call me cynical...I removed temptation and took xbox cable Grin But blow me if he hadnt done the bloody lot when we got home!!!! 3 lots of homework! Sorry ladies but the end of the world is upon us....its a sign for sure. I am still in shock.

Seemed like we walked miles today and all these early mornings and late nights caught up with me and had a snooze on the sofa early evening.

Full Monty is on now so settling back to watch that. I cant hear 'Hot Stuff' without having a sly wiggle Smile

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/09/2017 21:16

Hello. Lovely day but shattered. Catch up with you all tomorrow x

bookbook · 02/09/2017 23:02

Evening
away to my bed
had a lovely afternoon - went for a chat with a lovely old lady, then dropped by the opticians to have a new eyepad on my glasses. Its next door to Costa , and I had enough points on the card for a free coffee :)
Sleep well all
Thoughts and Prayers

Somerville · 02/09/2017 23:13

I thought I'd pop along here and say hi... and that was an hour ago, as it took me so long to catch up on everyone's news. Oops. But glad to hear you're all (mostly) well.

I'm 38 weeks so laying around not doing much. DC1 was 41 weeks, DC2 was 40 weeks and DC3 39 weeks, but it doesn't look like the pattern is continuing.

Chasingsquirrels · 02/09/2017 23:14

John's nephews wedding today.
Lovely lovely day, feel very privileged to have been asked to share it with them.
But it was very hard at times.
Just home and off to sleep - it's been a long day.

DramaAlpaca · 02/09/2017 23:21

Evening all, just saying a quick hello too. I haven't much to report but have enjoyed catching up on the thread and hearing what you've all been up to.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 03/09/2017 07:04

Morning

Feeling so tired but have no reason to! Slept a decent night.

Lots to get on with today. book the thing with cleaning the house is that it never stays that way Grin

Glad you got a free Costa!

Willow it's so great when they need new shoes. Both mine need trainers...

Good to see you on here too Somer and Drama - both mine were late Somer so guessing it's just how it goes...

Chasingsquirrels · 03/09/2017 07:35

New trainers is a job for today here as well, the boys should be back later this morning. Then over to my parents for lunch and to celebrate my mum's birthday last week.

Horsemad · 03/09/2017 08:05

Morning, got a 3+hr car journey to visit my Mum today - just waiting for DS to get out of the shower Hmm

He insisted he wanted to come with me or I'd have set off an hour ago otherwise. Angry

Hope everyone has a better start to their day than I'm having!

bookbook · 03/09/2017 09:19

Morning all
Lovely day, here
I am just about to pop off a bit early - local car boot for charity is on , and I like a mooch to see if anyone is selling plants . Then off to the allotment.
Nice to hear from you all , and its al good
Somer - not long now - at the not sleeping too well phase? - I remember the pillow between the knees , and having to roll out of bed - a long time ago now , mind you!
Chasing - the term for that is bittersweet, isn't it ?
Drama - I don't have anything either really !
Horse - have a safe journey - thats a long drive .
I am so glad I dont' have to sort out childrens shoes anymore! DGS has had to have his bought ready for school and he hates trying on stuff.
Have a good day everyone

Chasingsquirrels · 03/09/2017 11:11

My uncle died last night.
He was in his 80's and has been very unwell for many years.
I haven't seen him for a long time, but we saw them a lot as children.
Am sobbing now.

I just wanted someone to share this with, although my grief isn't for my uncle it's for John, and if John hadn't died I wouldn't be having these feelings to want to be comforted.

Boys back about an hour ago and just about to go on a trainer hunt.

Willow2017 · 03/09/2017 11:17

Morning all.
Well my nap didn't do me any good was awake till 4am!
Forced myself to get up at 9 and have done the ironing. Washing to go out sunnyish but cool wind so hope it dries quick I have another ton waiting 😀

Somer nearly there I remember the pillow arrangement, the gymnastics that started as soon as I flopped into bed (15 years later he is still a night owl I should have seen the signs 😀)

Horse safe trip. Teens are impossible to move fast in mornings drive you mad.

bookbook · 03/09/2017 14:35

Afternoon all
oh Chasing - it all gets a bit much, even when its not really a surprise, or unexpected. It just gets to you ((hugs)). I hope the trainer hunt is successful, and brings back a nice bit of 'normality'
Willow - naps are a bit like that - I hate them , it puts me all out .
Had a busy morning , picked loads of stuff, which is now waiting to be dealt with.
Have got evening meal prepped up,( everyone here tonight) and now listening to GQT - about to have a coffee before I get up and start freezing things, and giving stuff away to neighbours :)

Willow2017 · 03/09/2017 15:27

Now I remember why I stopped making bramble jelly! It's too much faff for very little.😀 will just freeze the next lot.

Bramble and Apple crumble made with the remaining Brambles.

Have stayed in pjs and dressing gown all day and had a knock at door there was a policeman! Thankfully looking for another house but still a surprise on a Sunday afternoon.
Time for a coffee and do my nails.

Book that allotment never gives you a minute does it?

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 03/09/2017 15:36

Sending you big hugs Squirrel I'm sorry John isn't around to comfort you. Hope the boys being back and dinner at your mum's house will give a bit of comfort.

DD didn't want to go shoe shopping, so it will have to wait till next weekend. It's chilly here, so I'm glad I decided on a roast.

Horse, hope you did OK with the journey in the end. A long drive to do in one day and back.

book sounds like you enjoy having a full house or they enjoy being fed by mum Grin

willow I rarely sleep in the day otherwise I struggle to go to bed at night. I never ever spend the day in PJs though - maybe I should make that our Christmas day plan.

Update on MIL - DH has just rung (again) and she was asleep again so they had a 2 sentence conversation and said bye. Guess we'll know more once she's been seen again tomorrow.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 03/09/2017 16:08

Just heard from Juan to say she's having a miserable day. We will send her our thoughts I'm sure. Will send our love.
