Just starting a new thread on Juan's orders. She'll be back when she feels up to it.

Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

Book
You snuck in while I was slowly poking away at my phone😀😀
I type fast on the pc but sitting at it for too long sends my knee into a sulk😉
Thanks I think you hit the nail on the head. It's affected all those things and for what I get paid and the amount of work I don't get paid for isnt really worth it for less than 16 hours a week.

HOW MUCH for a sandwich??😲
Crickey I hope it was worth it.

bookbook · 30/08/2017 21:34

it came with a plant pot of chips Grin - very good chips!

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 21:38

A plant pot! Good grief the chips had better be good at that price 😉

Chasingsquirrels · 30/08/2017 22:39

The plant pot of chips made me laugh! Such a pain when you get stuck in traffic such a short way from home.

Ah that makes sense Willow, yes any capital that you have would affect those benefits but not tax credits - although I understand they will affect universal credit.

Had a nice time with my friend, and just had a call from the boys.

And yes work is good for me Book - not least the structure to the day, but also as part of my self worth.

Hope everyone has a good night x

Horsemad · 30/08/2017 22:55

Good Evening All

Just about to head to bed ready for an early start at work tomorrow.

Had coffee out with DH this morning which was nice.

book, think you are right about the weather, although someone told me it's meant to improve for the w/e.

bookbook · 30/08/2017 23:03

well, time for me to go to bed - forecast 9º tonight - brrrrr
Sleep well all

Thoughts and Prayers

Horsemad · 30/08/2017 23:27

Still up Grin we've DS1 had the heating on tonight 'for the cat' Hmm

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 23:42

Horse
Aww bless him, that made me laugh.

Still up too, but really should have the sense to go to bed! Starting to yawn.

Chilly here tonight to but not as bad as last night, had the heating on for me!

Have a good sleep all, pleasant dreams.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 31/08/2017 06:53

Morning all

I've just sat and read through the last few days as I've done nothing more than a flying visit.

horse we are testing out the heating this morning (just to make sure it's working of course Wink) Hope that your return to work isn't too stressful. There's always lots to catch up on isn't there?

book I hope that you have a quieter few days yourself - sounds like you could need it too. I hate when food is presented in stupid ways like that. And oh my word, how much???

squirrel I hope you're feeling better? When are the boys back now?

willow I think you have made absolutely the right decision here. CM work is not only very physical but it seems endless paperwork and as your own children are older now, I can imagine that you'd want to make the house right for you not have it littered with high chairs and toys

Got today and tomorrow with me and just my own children. Tomorrow we're doing lots of socialising. Saturday and Sunday we're doing some fun things as a foursome and then it's just Monday and Tuesday to get through. There just doesn't seem any time for me at the moment, but on Thursday next week I will be doing something just for me

Swimming last night went surprisingly well Grin

Check in later x

Willow2017 · 31/08/2017 09:01

Morning all.
cake do you ever stop? You have the energy of 3 people😀

It's nice when they go back to get some 'me' time then you miss them!

Going to get some top up shopping then attack the house. Have couple of bags of clothes to take to clothes bank and ds1 trousers to sew, ironing to do and going to attack the cm toys and books first I think. Fingers crossed the day doesn't go to pot😉

Lovely morning hope it stays that way got a ton of washing.

bookbook · 31/08/2017 09:48

Morning all
Lovely morning, but chilly - central heating switched itself on ..
Washing is out, and am off to the allotment to wrestle some weeds.
Cake - hoping it doesn't feel so busy with just your two :)
Horse - hope its not too bad back at work
Willow - just a thought, and I bet you have done this anyway - but we have a local fb jobs/employment site which has all the very local jobs on, that don't get to the main websites - do you have one of those ? Its quite a busy little site, mainly shops/cafes/carers/cleaners, but a few pop up all the time. And people do ask about available work on there too.
Have a good day everyone

Willow2017 · 31/08/2017 12:25

Book
Thanks I don't do Facebook but that's worth a shot. I have signed up but never use it!

Well got back from shopping just as the first few drops of rain came down so got the washing in just in time. Crazy weather, was wandering round town with just a short sleeved t-shirt on, now sky is black. Got some pork to do escalopes for tea and another ton of fruit for kids! Treated myself to new lippy and nail varnish that was on offer😀

Having a reviving coffee before I get moving again.

bookbook · 31/08/2017 12:35

Just sitting own as DH makes lunch
Willow - the other thing that crossed my mind . Our local council only advertises its jobs on its own website - is that something you have looked at?
Lovely at the allotment this morning, and have picked loads of stuff. The biggest clap of thunder as I was picking raspberries - I rushed , but luckily it didn't rain , and it is now sunshine again :)

Willow2017 · 31/08/2017 12:40

Book I have seen local council jobs advertised on the job centre website but will check the council site too thanks.

Right someone give me a pull up from the sofa and I will get the shopping put away.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 31/08/2017 15:19

We are home - no such thing as a rest. Have come in from Legoland via Tesco, so shopping packed away, emptied washer and dishwasher and had to dash to get the throws off the rotary as it started raining.

DD has a haircut at 4pm, then her shoes tomorrow to have them all done and dusted.

MIL was in hospital overnight. Details sketchy! Would be great if she had someone to look after her - like her husband - if only he didn't live on a different continent Hmm don't ask

Will pop in later to check on you all.

Horsemad · 31/08/2017 16:05

Home and knackered. Within about 5mins of getting in I felt like I hadn't had a holiday at all Sad

My job doesn't get done when I'm off, despite it being quite an integral part of the business, so I now have 2wks worth of work to do to catch up.

Feeling like a change of job might be in order...

Willow2017 · 31/08/2017 16:45

Cake hope Mil is ok, nothing serious.

Horse how on earth do they run the business if nobody is doing your job? Thats not very good for business imho. Yep come join the bandwagon Smile

Dishes done - check
Washing done - check
Ironing done - check (soo much!)
Kids picked up - check
Coffee - check

Now for tea and homework! Is it wine o clock yet?

bookbook · 31/08/2017 17:07

Afternoon all
Cake - a bit worrying for you - is your MIL near? But lots done by sounds
Horse - it is the biggest drawback of any holiday I think. For years, I ( and DH ) worked twice as hard before the hols, then twice as hard when we came back ....But it does sound rather poorly managed if there is no cover for your work - sounds like madness!
Willow - you tick list is longer than mine :)
I have washed, and ironed ( but only a small amount today)
Done a lot at the allotment though - went back this afternoon with DH to get some more stuff done.
Came home via the shops to pick up some bits - I decided to do some no churn ice cream with the raspberries I picked this morning, so thats in the freezer as we speak, fast freeze on :)
Just need to prep for tea, then tonight its feet up , and crotchet hook out .

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 31/08/2017 21:27

Hi

MIL 2 hours away. Have asked DH if he wants to go up, but have said not at the moment. She's home and going back for a scan on Monday. Nephew there who can keep an eye.

Hope you sleep well all, I'm heading off to bed soon. Tomorrow is going to be full on, even busier than today! Really need Thursday to come round!

Horsemad · 31/08/2017 22:17

Yep, I am still feeling peeved. Angry My manager could have done the most important bits but never does, so I suppose I'm resigned to it.

It's crazy though, everything was up to date when I left and now I'm loaded with stuff again Sad when it would have been do-able if my manager had done a bit of my work too.

bookbook · 31/08/2017 22:44

that is almost worse - they are no manager. Shame he is your manager, so you don't have anyone to complain to - unless there is someone above them?
Watching 'an extra slice ' , with a cup of chocolate , then bed for me
Sleep well all
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 31/08/2017 22:57

Horse he needs training in managing them! What an idiot.

Book watching extra slice too. But have a glass of wine instead of choc but discovered a tiny fly drunk himself to death in it!

Bit chilly put fire on for short burst to heat me up😀

Have cleaned out my 'baking' cupboard. It's very shallow but tidied up and used new glass containers I got cheap today in Aldi. Will get some more. Used my old glass ones too so it looks good😀😀
I seem to have a lot of pasta and oatmeal😀 wish I had 'nigelas' walk in cupboard.

Cake Hope all's well with mil. Hang in there its nearly next week.

Sweet dreams everyone.

Willow2017 · 31/08/2017 23:05

Omg soooo funny. The island just started and ds1 came downstairs and wondered who one bloke was. I thought he was a sportsman and he said rugby I said nope he is a runner and I was right. So I 'dabbed' 😀 he is traumatised 😅😅😅

Horsemad · 31/08/2017 23:13
Grin
Willow2017 · 01/09/2017 11:13

Morning all.

Well checked my lottery tickets and I won! Ok its only £20 but that will keep me in lattes and croissants for a couple of weeks Smile

Grey and drizzly today.
Beds stripped, wash on, tidied desk, kitchen and bathroom done, dusted, need to get hoover out Sad I hate housework, so many better things to do with my time Smile

Hope everyone is having better weather and a good day.
