Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

Night night.

Am surrounded by folded washing but not moving till film is finished 😀

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 29/08/2017 13:28

Hello, just a quick pop in. Chaos here. Been out for fresh air and exercise cake

Will be back later!

Willow2017 · 29/08/2017 16:41

Afternoon all.

Well did some productive things today (as well as boring housework!)

Made carrot and apple muffins and some blueberry cookies. Both turned out ok and kids are happy. Smile

Need to get tea on, do ironing, chase ds2 into shower, homework then 'Bakeoff' (I am a traitor I know)

bookbook · 29/08/2017 19:48

Evening all
It has been grey, cold and this morning it was raining - positively chilly!
Busy day with DGS , so nothing else done, but did make some nice flatbreads for tea from a recipe someone posted on here - big hit, and very easy.
Just settling down - I am going to watch GBBO too Willow , but I am going to record it, then jump in after 20 minutes and ff through.
Cake - chaos? hope its calmed down now

Chasingsquirrels · 29/08/2017 19:52

Bakeoff sounds a good idea, especially jumping when it's started and you can ff.
I'd not really followed it before but enjoyed it last year.

Full day at work today, then home and low calorie tea as I'm having a 5:2 day. Usually I don't feel hungry but I didn't have lunch today and want something else now! Hmm maybe Bakeoff isn't such a good idea!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 29/08/2017 20:15

Hi, we're just watching the bake off now Grin

It's just a bit mad here with so many different age groups to keep busy!

Clean sheets to look forward to.

Thinking of you all.

Willow2017 · 29/08/2017 22:18

Evening all.

Bake off was good. Those creations at the end wow. I have enough trouble plopping the cake mix in the middle of the paper cases and not tipping the case over 😅😅

Flatbread sound nice do you have a link Book Or are they on the recipe pages?

Blooming cold this pm had the heating on!

bookbook · 29/08/2017 22:27

Evening
well, I enjoyed GBBO, glad I could ff though - loved Flo ( one of my dear , dear aunties had teeth like that :))
Flatbreads were on this thread Willow www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/3017526-Oh-dear-God-Ive-just-made-the-nearest-thing-to-heaven?msgid=71525972
clean sheets Cake - one of lives little luxuries
Chasing - it sounds hard the 5:2 eating, not sure I could cope
well, hot chocolate, then bed for me
sleep tight
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 29/08/2017 22:42

Thanks Book will give them a go.

Should be doing ironing but am on strike Smile

Am in a quandry with really only one way out.
Got asked about CM job today, baby, and as the job hunting is going nowhere I really should take it...nothing against kids but I wanted my house back! Spose I could get rid of all the stuff into the attic except the baby stuff and babies are easy (ish). I have to put practicality first I suppose and earn some money, the joys of being an adult eh? Dammit I havent done anything to do with cm for months, wil need to read up on babies Smile Can you jog my memory Cake?

Oh well maybe another job will come up later on.

Horsemad · 29/08/2017 23:25

Well! What a difference in today's weather Sad it was miserable.

Didn't do very much at all really, yet the day flew by Confused

Last day of my hols tomorrow, so will go for coffee and cake to cheer myself up! Grin

I didn't watch BakeOff, have really cut down on my TV watching (spend too much time on 'tinternet, that's why!)

It always surprises me why DH & DS watch cookery programmes - they are both the fussiest eaters on the planet Hmm

Willow I'd love to be a CM - but only to babies Smile

Chasingsquirrels · 30/08/2017 07:48

Lol Horsemad, I'm not at all interested in food, am a very fussy eater and don't really cook - more assemble and heat things. But I like a cooking programme as much as the next person!
Have a lovely last day of your holidays.

Willow, would the baby be full time and is it worthwhile to just have 1?

I've not long woken up and feel achy and tired, not sure what that's about but I'm sure I'll feel better after a shower.

I decided GBBO wasn't a good idea last night so watched a couple of episodes of Designated Survivor instead - John and I had been watching it. I pretty much stopped watching stuff we'd watch together for a while, and anything that required brainpower really. But that gradually coming back.

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 10:52

Squirrels not full time but added to my after school one it would be over 16 hours so I would be able to get tax credits again to help me out.

Been printing up endless policies and paper work just reminds me what a lot of paperwork there is and I dont miss it a bit Smile

bookbook · 30/08/2017 11:01

Morning all
quick dip in here - about to go out with DH - checking up some stuff about replacing our worn out patio door. Oh the glamorous life.
I did manage a quick zip to the allotment though to pick broccoli and flowers before home for coffee and out.
Willow - a hard life choice , but I suppose it depends on hours and the baby tbh - I know nothing of CM apart from I hear there is lots of paperwork, but at least you get to give them back ...
Horse - its always a bit depressing coming to the end of a holiday, and wondering where it has gone . At least the weather has changed first
Chasing hope you feel better, and not coming down with something.
I love food, and cooking, and feeding people - just like my DM I think. It didn't matter when you went to see her, the first thing out of her mouth was are you staying for something to eat :)
Back later

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 11:30

Squirrels posted too soon was distracted by printer!

Hope you are feeling better soon, maybe the shower will do the trick?

Book its really just the fact that it takes over your whole house. Filing cabinet full of paperwork, toys, car seats, buggies, eating and drinking utensils, wipes, gloves you name it its everywhere! Plus the accounts stuff, training (none of which is under an hour away) arghghgggh. And it impacts on my kids too.

Sound ungrateful for the work but after years and years I just wanted a change.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 30/08/2017 13:33

Hi

Just a quick pop in (hiding to save my sanity)... I guess just one won't hurt Willow but it is a lot of work....

I've officially run out of patience for the children now, which I suppose is not bad going with less than a week to go! But first I need to go down to swimming this afternoon with all 4 children as DD has her assessment so cannot miss it. Feed the littlies while she does it and then drop them home on the way back. What could possibly go wrong??? Hmm

Have brownies in the oven, but they're for Friday grump.

Horse, hope you enjoy your last bit of holiday. Squirrel hope you're feeling better. I know Juan said she hasn't watched the telly at all or read papers etc, so you're certainly not alone in finding it hard/strange to do things like that - especially things you've watched together.

hugs to all x

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 13:58

Well I have thought about it, have looked at all the paperwork, checked the buggy and car seats, have thought about all the training I will need to catch up on (havent done any for 9 months) keeping up my 'professional profile' all the hoops to jump through to keep records etc and its just not worth it. I realised that I am really not interested in doing all that again, I really dont want to do any more training on child development, food hygiene, etc etc A The actual idea makes me feel panicky I love learning stuff but I just feel after 11 years I have done this and finished with it. nd then there is the lugging of car seats in and out the car, putting kid in said car seat and out which is back breaking, especially with my dodgy back. Am I a selfish bitch? (I dont actually get any benefits just now so not the reason I dont want to do it.)

I have however applied for 2 local jobs in cafes and shops and registered with yet another job search website. What happens if I get the nice cafe job I fancy and they wont take a months notice?

Arghgghghghgh

Horsemad · 30/08/2017 14:10

Willow, you have thought this out carefully and you have made a considered decision, so well done Flowers

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 14:29

Horse
Thank you. I have trouble doing something 'just for me' and not putting everyone else first someimes and my practical side is telling me I should take whatever I can get but I just dont think I can at the moment.

Trying not to panic about never getting another job Smile

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 14:33

Sorry to hog the thread.

What does everyone think of the idea that I should contact my Development Officer and get her to send out an email to all the local cm's to say I am selling all my stuff (she has done this a few times) I might as well try to get some £ for it all and once its all gone the decision is taken away Smile

Be decisive woman!

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 14:50

Oh God I have turned it down.... feel relieved and sick at the same time Smile

Horsemad · 30/08/2017 15:10

Yep, go for it. Sometimes you have to make the first move to start something...

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 30/08/2017 15:16

Well done for making a decision. I've done nearly 5 years now and can't see me going forever either.

Hope you get a nice cafe job!

Chasingsquirrels · 30/08/2017 19:22

Willow of course you are not a selfish bitch (how could you even think that!). Sounds like you have thought it through and make the right decision for you at this point. Seeing if you can sell the stuff sounds a good idea. Are you entitled to claim anything but not doing so - I'd assumed from your job centre comments that you were having to jump through their (many and varied) hoops.

I've had a long day at work - making up for barely having been there this month, probably what made me achy this morning - and a just about to go out for a meal with a friend.
Generally feeling less down this week ☺.

bookbook · 30/08/2017 21:08

Evening all
long day in the end - a fair way to go to look at french doors, but necessary . -( on a side note it is very posh near Prestbury - footballers wives territory - and we stopped for a late lunch - £8,95 for a sandwich Shock )
We were so nearly home - about 20 minutes away , and there was obviously a nasty accident. We were stood still for 45 minutes while it got sorted :( . . So even later home than expected.

Willow - I think it was a good call - your health, mental and physical is miles more important, and I think it will mean you definitely end it there, and not hang on thinking about it, a bit like a mental spring clean . Good idea to sell on the stuff too.
Cake - hang on in there, just another week . Hope you manage to get some time to relax, and think about yourself for a minute or two.
Chasing - work , and being busy seems to help you I think? Some purpose/meaning . Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Right - now slobbing after a bath, going to watch Location on catch up
Have a good evening all

Willow2017 · 30/08/2017 21:20

Thanks ladies.

Squirrels
No I am not entitled to anything because I have some money left over from house sale. If I was working 16hrs a week I would get tax credits because they don't include £ from house. Can't remember what they call that money. But job centre, council and housing benefit people do take it into consideration so no JSA, council tax discount etc. (Council can't read forms either apparently that's why I had to pay last year's council tax again as they never noticed the house money!!)
I sign on for N.I. contributions only but also pay them myself being self employed.

It's funny but since I made the decision I actually feel more positive. I feel like I can get started clearing my house and garage out and maybe get out of the limbo I have been in. Always having the thought that I might have to go back to it full time was actually not
enticing iyswim. Now I made the choice its get off your bum time and
do something about it😀

Enjoy your meal, glad you are feeling better now. I dont think this weather helps I have been achy a couple of days and not doing half as much as you. Damp, hot then cold the weather is impossible to predict here just now.
