Good day here but I feel shattered for some reason.

It was very warm.

Watched DS play football this afternoon and then over ate at dinner, so felt bad afterwards but blimey, the cake WAS good!

Family BBQ tomorrow, so hope the weather stays fine.

It is beautiful here today.
Sat with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.
had a very productive day so far .
Lots of weeding , and chatting at the allotment - runner beans, green and purple beans, cauliflower and raspberries picked.
So I have soup simmering for tonights meal, Cauliflower, broccoli, onion and potato blitzed with blue cheese) raspberries and apple crumble ready for popping in the oven as well. , and after coffee will embark on making some tomato and vegetable sauce to package in the freezer.

Lazy day here.

Kids didnt want to go out so been slobbing in pjs and pottering. Kids cleaned their room (with a few prods) which is a bonus!

Got chicken in the oven for tea.

Weather ok if a bit cloudy but muggy and warm.

Book can I come to tea? It sounds wonderful, I love crumble

We wnet up to the usual bramble place on Friday to find its been all cut back and the whole road has had a makeover! Still a few bramble bushes but not many branches. It was needed to be honest but it was a bit of a surprise We went for a rake throught the little wood anyway and managed to pick a couple of brambles and will go back to try to get the ones still to ripen. There are other places to get them but not so prolific as that was. Wont get so much crumble this year!

We had a good day and made the most of the sun. Planning a NT day tomorrow and need to strip our bed & run hoover through. Thankfully it's just pasta and sauce for tea tomorrow - easy and everyone will eat it!

book do you have a chest freezer? think we've discussed it before I try and do a bit of batch cooking but not enough space...

I have two Cake - one enormous one in the utility room - its over 5' long , and the biggest one that would go in, that has everything I have made meal wise, ice cream etc, and another big one in the garage, which has all the fruit and veg I have picked and frozen from the allotment

I would love a small chest freezer but no room (even less room in garage now but that's another story)

I would do a lot more batch baking if I had plus all the fruit etc in autumn.

Been to TKD ds2 got new suit but its miles too big, too big to take up so got another to try. Fingers crossed.

Have list of jobs to do tomorrow. Think this jobless lark is brining me down and am getting lazy so being proactive. But have appointment at sschool plus shopping to get too so hopefully too busy to mope about.

Willow - Its always good to have a list to work from - chin up, something will turn up hopefully.
I don't think I could cope without a chest freezer. I have spent years batch cooking . Its lovely to just grab something for a meal when I'm tired, or take something out when I know I won't have the time .

Quiet weekend here.

Called a friend in Saturday afternoon and invited myself round for a while, then saw my parents in Sunday and went for a wander round the Botanic gardens today with someone from my WAY group. Now sitting in the garden enjoying the sunshine - well in dappled shade.

My lavender is starting to green up, which is good as I wouldn't have put money on it surviving the cutback I gave it.

Well the best laid plans and all that!

Meeting had to be put back an hour as teacher had to step in and take a class due to illness. But it went fine, he will speak to ds1 tomorrow and ask Physics teacher to keep an eye out for ds1 and I will get the usual school report next month so I can see then if there are any issues on there too. Hopefully new teacher will be appointed for the other class and will start after Oct hols. So fingers crossed alls well.

Everything else all went to pot after that Did get a couple of things done plus shopping but nothing major. Oh well there is always tomorrow. But treated myself to a big caramelatte as had my freebie card, oh the decadence Lost myself in my book for half an hour, bliss.

Very warm here, sky doesnt know what to do blue/cloudy/very cloudy/windy/warm all day.

Got home from shopping to the joys of living in the country - some kind farmer has been spreading muck more probably slurry, ooh my sinuses arent half cleared out!

Squirrels sounds like a nice laid back weekend. Glad the lavender survived!

Really hot today, went for a good walk with DH but was glad to get home as was a sweaty mess!!

Showered now and just relaxing before we eat.

Chasing, the Botanic gardens sound lovely, never done them - worth a visit?

Confused me as well Horsemad , slurry smell is horrible Willow, hope it goes soon.

Gardens were good, although not worth the trip from Lincoln! I posted on the widow group local Facebook yesterday to see if anyone fancied it and someone whose wife died in April and I have met a couple of times at local events replied so we met up and had a good wander then a drink and a cake.

well, I will be honest, been a bit weary today. I think the body realised it needed a rest :)
So a quiet day, pottering in the garden , and a bit of ironing. Other than making tea, and freezing the veg I picked yesterday, thats just about it :)
Chasing - I do like a wander around gardens. My birthday treat from DH last year was going around Harlow Carr and having lunch in the Bettys there :) ( he's not great at mooching around gardens, but tries, bless him} . Good news on the lavender !
Willow - thats a bit tough - we also get the waft of slurry around here, but at the moment, its every tractor available for sorting out the harvest. I don't envy farmers ...
Horse - yep, miles too hot. Should have gone to the allotment , but it was too hot for me, I'm a wimp with heat.
