DH has died and MN Aunties are keeping things ticking over (Juan)

Cake gosh you have been busy. Not a day 'off' at all.

Have raspberry flapjacks type thing in oven, fingers crossed. I cheated and used h/m rasp jam with a bit of cornflour in it! I could not find that strawberry muffin recipie anywhere, plenty others but not the one I had half of! Only found it at weekend! All the rest had yogurt in them and dont have enough.

Got pile of ironing but that can wait until this pm. Lazy so and so!

Book hope you have beaten the allotment into submission yet again. I should do some weeding but back playing up last 2 days so will wait till weekend and clear it out properly. (bought gloves so ds1 has no excuse not to help )

cherry scones - yes please if any left!
All my washing and ironing done, and my haircut - but it went very black and rained a bit at lunch. DH came with me to the plot, so he cut the grass ( not easy , still wet and very long) while I picked tons of green, purple and runner beans, deadheaded flowers and cut all the nice ones for home. By the time I had pulled some beetroot and dug up a cauliflower it came over all black and started to rain again. So we came home. The weeds will have to wait for another day.
Willow - take care with the back. Its annoying finding a good recipe , and then losing it. I am trying to be very organised and redo my recipe files ( I think I mentioned it) so I only keep the ones I am going to do again.
Cake - thats a full on day there, you must be worn out by now!
Hope Chasing is okay , and wonder if Selena has gone away on her holiday?

Hmmm raspberry flapjack are pretty good too maybe a little more Han next time but kids have tucked into them after school.

Book I have a big lever arch file for my recipes and did it in the hols being ruthless. Today the 'arch' just broke! Damm couldn't it have happened before I went into town?

Good grief that allotment seems to have every veg under the sun! How on earth you keep it up I don't know. You must have the energy of 3 people😀

Just bathing DS now and then on the foot off the throttle. Tomorrow won't be much quieter and can't see the weekend being so either. Might book myself in for a massage on the 7th when they're all back to school and I have a day off!

Back to work today, and just home - quite a bit to catch up as not been in for over a week, apart from a brief appearance last Friday afternoon for a meeting. And only in two days before that after my holiday. I juggle my time quite a bit during the summer holidays but normalish service now resumed, but longer days this week and next while the boys are away.
Good day, caught up on quite a few things, and with people, one of our long time staff members is retiring tomorrow and we did cards and presents today as one of the central partners was down. Out for a meal with him tomorrow evening after work. Then more cards and presents for someone else's 50th.

Nice meal yesterday evening with John's family, but hard. They are all lovely people, but I only know them through John and he is so missing on such occasions.

Then IM'd with a couple of WAY members when I got back, hence the late night posting.

I'd agree with everyone on your days book, you always seem ever so busy to me!

Done tea, dishes, and only now the kids have finally got their packed lunch boxes out their bags! Ironing staring at me but DS2 asked me to play on Xbox with him, perfect excuse (will only have to do it later I suppose) Wish me luck I havent played L4D2 in a while!

Friend popped round this evening, we went for a short walk and then she came in for a chat - really good to see her so a nice evening.

Planning to get to sleep slightly earlier tonight! Going to read in bed for a while.

Buckled down and did the ironing.

Sent ds1 to do homework as I said earlier, thinking all homework was due next monday...apparently not. He remembered that his english was due tomorrow so half of a 1000 word story was still to be written on pc and printed off! After checking it and offering suggestions 'we' just finished 20 minutes ago! Give me strength!

Missed most of Alien Ressurection as had to turn off tv, will have to rewatch tomorrow night! Kids!

Lots of bits to do today. Worst bit to face is a party at trampoline place. Not sure who is invited (school child) and there are some horrors in the class. At least it's friday!

got caught up with crotchet, and a chat with DD on fb then went to bed last night.Hope you all slept well.
I never think I am over busy, just organised - I find it very hard to just not do anything, so like to have a list of things to do. Some may get jettisoned - I don't try to squeeze stuff in :)
Willow - I don't do any housework at all after I sit down after the evening meal , its the law here! I do what I call craft - so anything from sewing/knitting/crotchet .
I am so glad I am past the homework bit. I was pretty lucky with both my DD's on that, but I was more of - get it done straight away, it's off your back and then you can relax for the rest of the evening. It didn't really work with DD2 - it was always last thing .
Chasing - I do think getting back to some sort of normal really helps , almost a sense of mental comfort IYSWIM - I do hope it helps you that you can keep busy while the boys are away.
My DD was waiting for results, - almost as much stress being a teacher, but her lot did very well, so all good :)
Cake - goodness - a trampoline party ? I don't envy you!
Off out early this morning - just a quick trip to do a favour, but then home, a cup of coffee and then ( hopefully) a morning at the allotment to start tackling weeds.
I do grow everything I can Willow- but only things we all like eat - I think the size of the allotment was determined to keep a family of four in basic fruit and veg , and it certainly does that . I don't grow many potatoes, carrots or onions, as they are cheap and easy to buy. I try to grow things that taste good,are expensive or hard to pick ( raspberries are so easy to grow, but take a bit of picking - I assume that is why they are not cheap to buy) .

Good Luck with the trampoline party Cake Never had one of those; we had football, swimming and bowling parties but never trampolines. That should wear them out hopefully!

All slept in this morning! Frantic rush to get kids out door with snack to get lift. Thankfully they are always late themselves😀

Fed GPS need to take bins out and get myself washed and organised got job centre in an hour. Waste of time but hey ho.

cake you are brave going to trampoline centre. Is it run properly or do kids just run amok? Rather you than me😀

DS refused to get ready and is now dressed but still not washed It's a class mate's birthday and I have been there once before, but early so it was quiet. This afternoon I'd imagine chaos. Am dreading it!

I've done all the chores while DS was in his funk, so now time to sort lunch and then go and suffer...small talk and rude children (possibly including mine - no idea what is up with him)

Willow good luck at the Job Centre. I imagine it is soul destroying as well as a waste of time.

We dont have a bank holiday I could do with one after last night ha ha. But we have 'tattie week' in October and usually St Andrews day in November but its not down on the website as a school holiday so far but they may add it later on.

Should get on and do something but its spitting on rain so washing can wait. Done some paperwork but thats about it.
It takes me as long to go to job centre as the time I am actually in there. Staff are very nice not thier fault I have to go in and they have had people complaining about the so called 'job search' websites before. Waste of everyones time.

Working at 1.30 so thats the afternoon taken care of.

Well he's asleep and I've dived spoon first into a tub of Haagen Daz. The party was much better than anticipated as only a few select guests invited phew

New car insured for tomorrow, hire car being collected first thing and then I just need to tax it once I've go the paperwork in my hand. Really hoping that's my excitement for the year done and dusted now.

Long day at work (although not as long as it could have been as didn't get there until nearly 10am...do need to get my act together on the morning front), then out straight from work for a retirement do - he's been with the firm nearly 44 years! Good evening, missed John (as usual) but had a nice time. Had to trawl through years of emails on a client today to try and local information and put together an information trail - that made me cry, so many emails between John and I both before we got together and during our relationship, then one from client last July congratulating him on our marriage.

Oh that does sound very emotional. Hope you have a lovely lie in this morning and allow yourself to mope a bit - sounds like you could do with it. (hugs)

Just thought I would report in to say that I now have my car and the hire one has gone back. Bit of a relief. We've pottered about with paperwork, sorting old cables and a bit of gardening.

Cake good news on the car.

Swimming here first thing and kids got their haircuts midday. They look much better now DS2 is very pleased as its short enough to spike up again and the hairdresser did it for him and it makes him as tall as me now! (Not that thats very hard to do)

Went into town for new ring binder for my recipies and a mooch around. Treated myself to the new Elvis cd for the car. All the tv stuff about the anniversary of his death reminded me how fab he was. I have records (yes I have hundreds of them!) but no cd.

Sunny now but black clouds earlier luckily left washing till we got back and missed the rain.

Gonna avoid doing very much for the rest of the day

have been very hectic ,out and about, so not really sat down for the last two days. But I can relax now - just had a lovely hot bath, and a pedicure.
Chasing - that sounds rather hard to cope with as regards Johns work emails .

Sounds like a good day Willow Glad the haircuts got done!

We didn't do too much - just sorting stuff (I tackled the craft box and party supplies, DH did cables and stuff from the loft) and got some new library books etc

Tomorrow we're going to see if we can get to the park for a picnic and play and then hopefully BBQ for tea.

Sounds like everyone is having good days

not sure about that Chasing - just busy . We have spent the last two days finishing off at DD's house, finishing last cleaning, taking everything home, going to the tip again - sorting out daft things like that. There is always one more thing to be done, but its finished now, thank goodness. What have you been up to?
