Horse
Thanks.
Now that is something else to look forward to Smile but got a while to do yet.

Chasingsquirrels · 15/08/2017 00:47

He will be fine Willow, hope you will be too!

I'm guessing car (drivers door only) was unlocked because the key fob wasn't working and they couldn't lock it. I just assumed the battery had gone - I clicked to unlock and nothing happened so started to panic and at the time was relieved more than anything else when I found the drivers door was unlocked. Plus it was midnight and I just wanted to get home.
It was only a few days later when I replaced the battery in the key fob and it still didn't work (and then swapped the battery with my other, working, key fob and it still didnt work that I realised it was the fob not the battery). I need to find a number and call them and complain.

Just an annoyance. And the recode is such a ripoff as they just plug it into the computer and it does it. Grr

Meal was okay, company was good. I had a nice time.

Must go to sleep!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 15/08/2017 06:45

Morning.

Good luck for back to school Willow and boys.

Glad you had a good meal Squirrel and hope you got some sleep. How very annoying about the car/keys.

Horse wow, A level resuts! Exciting times...

Drama glad you had a wonderful time. Cannot believe how much you packed into your time. My feet would not have coped. Glad the men folk missed you Wink

book you sound like such an awesome mum&dad. Hope that you take it easy today.
Somer I'm glad to hear you're better emotionally and mentally. Good luck with it all. 3rd time has got to be easy right?

I slept better last night and feeling more human. Was raining at 5am so going to the soft play and going to have a big hot choc and pastry Grin DH going to ring round and go and look at a few cars. Taking the children last night after tea was just not fun for anyone, so want to avoid that, but also need to get it all sorted.

Will check in later x

Willow2017 · 15/08/2017 09:18

Morning all.

I survived 😀 my 'baby' looked so fab in his new uniform took a million photos of them (teen not impressed!) Teen even made it down in time for the smoothie I made him, result! Had a little cry into my coffee after they left, silly old sod. Couldn't help but think how proud my parents would be of them.

Now to hop in shower and get working through my long list of jobs to do today to keep me sane. Working from 3 so need to sort back seats in car out too.

Rained through the night stopped by this am but very cloudy. Laughing at weatherman saying rest of week will be different as weather will be will be changeable! How is that different? Snow?

Have a good day folks.

Take it easy cake I am sure you can't be feeling 100% yet you never stop long enough.

Horse when do you get the A level results? Fingers crossed.

Book any chance of a lazy day?

Squirrels glad you had a nice pm.

bookbook · 15/08/2017 15:05

Afternoon all
very quick in to say hello.
It is beautiful here , warm and sunny.
I have just got back from the playground, ahead of DH and DGS to put the kettle on . I have about 15 minutes :)
Willow - hope the day has gone without you worrying too much , but sounds as if it started well!
Erm - being a long time Mum, I took packup, energy bars, fruit cherry tomatoes - proper piicnic1
Chasing - definitely sounds odd that - was it a secure car parking - the car hasn't been meddled with has it?
Cake - hope that tonsilitis is retreating, it can take a while. so yes to taking it easy.
Not been too bad today - DGS didn't come until nearly 8, and he has been so good. We have played lego and hot wheels, gone to the market , which he loves. Had lunch , and then as I say gone to the swings.
I have just made a fresh tomato sauce with veg for tea, and being lazy have some ready made meatballs to add to it , to go with pasta for tea tonight .
Have a good day all

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 15/08/2017 15:06

Hope DS2 has had a great first day Willow

Much calmer day today but stroppy tween and reception age child alternating their melt downs (guess i should be grateful it's not in tandem)

Have booked something really touristy for tomorrow with 6 of us in all. Hoping it will go down well. Then DD off again for 10 days.

Willow2017 · 15/08/2017 15:20

Afternoon

Well I have been studiously working through my 'list'. Have done 4 things off it plus hoovering and washing. TBH there was never going to be enought time to do it all Smile

Not happy with washing machine, when on short wash it came up with the error again before its due to end the cycle and get rid of the water. Put it on spin but its not really fresh smelling, and thats twice! Time for a new one methinks. (adds to list)

Waiting for mindee to arrive then will be going for the kids, cant wait to hear how their day went but I am sure it will be "What did you do"? "stuff"....

Book sounds like a nice day.

Cake its hard to know which one is worse when it comes to stropping Wink You are a glutton for punishment re tomorrow!

Been sunny here but just as I got the washing to put out it was bucketing again! Sunny again now so might drag the kids out for a walk, go feed the horses or something.

Horsemad · 15/08/2017 17:29

I am on holiday, yeeaaaaay!!! Grin

That's me done for a fortnight. Not going away, just doing what I want every day Wink

Bet your DS looked smart Willow, I love spotting the new starters Smile DS's blazer was enormous - never really realised that until I saw a pic of his first day at secondary fairly recently! Grin Funny how it looked only a little bit big on the day (so I thought...)

Cake, what touristy thing are you doing tomorrow?

We are going to do a few touristy things over my fortnight's holiday, if I can persuade my DSs to accompany me Grin

Chasingsquirrels · 15/08/2017 19:30

Willow hope his first day went well.
Horsemad yay ☺.
Cake have a good touristy day tomorrow.
book time for a rest?

My boys are back tonight for a week then back to their dad for another 10 days next Wednesday. I've just picked them up from jogging club after their stepmum dropped them there. Nice to have them back.

Parking was Stansted airport meet & greet, I don't think it's dodgy and car is fine. I think they just dropped the key (or whatever knackered it) and consequently couldn't lock it when they brought it back for pick up. Must phone them tomorrow.

Willow2017 · 15/08/2017 20:21

Evening all

He was fine of course Smile Has homework already, well science terms to remember and he will be tested next week!!! So has DS1 and I am monitoring it every damm day so he doesnt get to skip it like he did on occaision last term.

Out for a walk and got conkers but they have dropped too soon with the wind but its fun to open them up 'just in case'. Had a look at the brambles as I saw someone picking them on local road today but 'ours' are just starting to come through, maybe next week.

Am collapsing in a heap now, dishes done, and packed lunches done, just gonna sit with DS2 and look at the words with him. Been a very busy day but got a lot done so am happy. (shoulders arent but thats a different matter Smile )

Horse happy holidays have fun.
Cake where are you going tomorrow?

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 15/08/2017 21:23

Nothing too adventurous - a little boat cruise down the river. And then of course there's feeding ducks, running around in the park and a picnic.

I'm tucked up in bed now. Life feeling a bit more under control for the moment

Night night all x

bookbook · 15/08/2017 21:44

Evening all
quite relaxed here :)
Fed everyone, they went home, and I'm now back from my committee meeting.
Cake - sounds like a nice day ahead, hope you get a good nights sleep
Willow - you have stuck to a list , but nice to hear it all went well. You sound very purposeful!
Horse have a lovely staycation - some of our best holidays have been like that, just going out and not having too many plans . Hope the stress of waiting for results isn't too fraught :)
Chasing the dc are in and out , aren't they - you must work hard to keep any routine going- it sounds tough.
No rest really until next week, after Tuesday .Tomorrow back at DD's house - not too intensive, but lots of small jobs that need to be sorted - putting plugs and chains back on , getting rid of limescale stains in bath and toilet ( why do people do that?) . Replacing a bit of skirting board , etc, etc ... . But we are not going hell for leather tomorrow. We are back properly on Thursday for a big painting session....
Right , I think that is me done for the night
Sleep tight all
Thoughts and Prayers

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 16/08/2017 06:13

Have a lovely time off horse sounds like my idea of bliss!

Slept well but up early. Throat really scratchy - guess like a scab that's healing - but being a very good girl and finishing my course of ABs which will continue till MONDAY!

Glad your day will be a bit less physical today book I really don't know why people don't look after things. The amount of library books we find with rips, missing flaps or scribbles Angry

Will check in this afternoon.

bookbook · 16/08/2017 10:21

Morning all!
Gorgeous day here.
Just about to have a coffee , then off to DIY
have a good day all

Willow2017 · 16/08/2017 12:55

HI all

Busy day again, have blitzed the kitchen, rearranged stuff on counters and got rid of stuff! Oh for a self cleaning kitchen!

Sunny today Shock so 2 loads of washing out so far and another in [fingers crossed]

DS1 reverted back to slow mode this am Smile but still managed to eat breakfast on the go and get out door on time. Wheres the hair dye I got 10 more grey hairs already Wink

Got a call this morning which I thought was yet another scam one but hey it was lovely guy from O2 offering me a new package with more data for £9 less a month yehaaay! Also changed kids to that too so saving £11 a month. THAT doesnt happen very often in this house.

Cake hope the day is going well.

Book dont overdo it either Smile

Horse so jealous, have a good day.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 16/08/2017 13:05

We survived with minor strops and tantrums including a croc (shoe) ending up in the fountain. Home now and smallest asleep and rest watching a DVD.

Sounds like you're doing well Willow - No money saving rarely happens here either, but DH has remortgaged and called the energy company that was over charging and had lots of money, so some good bits here too.

Just need to make it to 5:15 tonight. Sure I can manage that. DH and I were very tempted when the man on the boat asked if we'd like anything from the bar Blush

Chasingsquirrels · 16/08/2017 13:10

Up and put for a work meeting this morning and back by 11.30, both boys still in dressing gown but ds2 had made pancakes and dad was making ice cream milkshakes for them both - not as good as on holiday apparently.

Ds2 has now gone to see a friend and ds1 has disappeared to his work.

I've just had an hour in the front garden pulling out weeds and cutting things back. Lovely morning but I think the forecast isn't looking good for tomorrow.

We are going to a friend for pizzas tonight so that should be fun.

Chasingsquirrels · 16/08/2017 13:11

Ds1 not dad!

bookbook · 16/08/2017 17:37

Afternoon all!
Just got back in.
Got a lot done , ready for the big paint job tomorrow . DH and I seem to work more quickly when its just us. ( maybe it just feels like it) . The bathroom is done apart from putting back up cabinet, mirror and a new shower curtain.
Luckily , home is tidy and clean , and tea is ready to go . Not that I fancy bubble and squeak and poached eggs ( its much too sunny and warm) but it will take minutes , which is a blessing!
Willow - good one - it very rarely works does it. We changed energy company a few years ago, and last month had a little windfall too. If we recommended someone to use them , and they switched , we got £50 , and so did they .
Cake - our DGS loves his crocs - he has a dory thingy stuck in one of the holes - it had to be rescued form the previous pair :)
Chasing I read Dad and went Confused ! Your garden must be looking lovely now - I am shutting my eyes to mine.
Hope everyone is okay

Willow2017 · 16/08/2017 18:33

Evening all.

The day has just flown by. Washing by the ton then shower of rain later so took mine and NDNs in of course 5 mins later it stopped, luckily due to force 10 Gale it was dry.

Tea done chased ds1 to do jobs that were supposed to be done yesterday helped ds2 clean out GPs as so windy.
Sitting outside TKD with my book enjoying the rest😀
Going over homework with ds1 later wish me luck he doesn't take constructive criticism or help well. You will hear our heads butting😀

Think tomorrow is going to be my 'Milford day'. Food shopping and coffee and croissant here I come. God those kids don't half eat! I need a fruit cafe cage and an orchard to keep them going.

Enjoy your evenings ladies.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 16/08/2017 20:39

Have a good evening! Legoland for us tomorrow!

Horsemad · 16/08/2017 21:30

Hi All

Relaxing day here, just pottered about and this evening has just been me and DS2 at home.

I am restless tonight, pending results tomorrow. DS2 seems ok and quite laid back.

Hope you enjoyed your pizza chasing; I love pizza!

Book, good luck with the painting tomorrow Smile

You have been busy today Willow, can't beat line drying imo!

I'm sure Legoland will be exhausting but enjoyable Cake - have a good day.

bookbook · 16/08/2017 22:47

Evening all
Just about ready for bed .
Willow - you are putting us to shame - but doesn't it fly when you don't have interruptions for DC ! enjoy your coffee and croissant in peace tomorrow :)
Cake - Legoland! Please come back and fill us in - I can pass on relevant tips to DD .Have a lovely day
Horse - best wishes for the A level results tomorrow - its a bit nerve wracking !
Selena - hope all is well and Chasing - hope you enjoyed your pizza :)
Sleep tight all
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 16/08/2017 23:14

Why did my phone put cafe in between fruit and cage? That thing is possessed!

Am not used to this having to do things in the evening malarky! Packed lunches, chasing gym kit into wash bag, uniform, homework etc its exhausting!

Been watching 'Dracula Untold' so sad, one of the few times you are on Dracula's side Smile (lifelong vampire fan) DS1 came down at the end and had to be told the whole story! Then we got chatting about other tv horror stuff...so much for an early night for him Smile But we were chatting!!! Just him and me!!! Love it.

Cake enjoy Legoland. Was there a few years ago, was exhausting but fun. Love all the models there. DS2 is mega lego fan, ds1 not so much now but was. We have ten tons of the stuff.

Horse fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Horsemad · 17/08/2017 05:37

Awake. Sad
