Just starting a new thread on Juan's orders. She'll be back when she feels up to it.

Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

No idea!

Willow2017 · 13/08/2017 10:24

Morning all.
Raining last pm but actually sunny this morning. Trying to get up enthusiasm to bag up the cut down weeds and take them and the other stuff from last week to the skip. Got a bag of bottles too.

Can't believe only got 2 days left of hols but sad. Isn't it always the same you never do everything you thought you might do. Of course the weather hasn't helped no fun going to places in bucketing rain😀 and kids are getting too old for some indoor stuff. Just always feel I could have done more. Maybe just me being crap at holidays😀

Thinking of Juan sounds like
holiday was hard for her and the family. Perfectly normal of course it's a huge 'first'.

Going to investigate washing machine maybe some button been pressed I don't normally use to delay spin or something?

Willow2017 · 13/08/2017 10:33

sqirrels you have given me ideas sounds like a good plan.
I would love a chance to go away for a weekend on my own never mind take the kids😀 just up to Edinburgh to go to the theatre maybe. Think I will check out whats on and try and persuade ex to take them for a couple of nights.. (What's that pink thing in the sky?)

Somerville · 13/08/2017 11:02

Hullo everyone, thanks for the PM's - I'm fine. Well, aside from being huge. But my mood is better than a few months ago. Just been a while because I had a social media break for the first half of the summer hols.

Sounds like busy summers all round. Hope everyone who is yet to go on holiday has a good time.

Chasingsquirrels · 13/08/2017 15:42

Any chance of that Willow? Am I right in thinking he doesn't have them overnight?

My ex would happily have ours if I wanted to go away, don't think I'm up for that on my own yet though!
He has them the bank holiday weekend (well from the Wed evening before to the Sunday after) and they are all down to Devon for a week.
I've got things planned for a couple of the evenings and need to fill a bit more, plus arrange somethings that weekend. I have a wedding the following Saturday (John's nephew, not sure how I'll be) and will be working in the weekdays but the long weekend might drag.

Chasingsquirrels · 13/08/2017 15:57

Nice to 'see' you Somer and I'm glad everything is going well x

Willow did you sort the washing machine?

My friend whose bbq I went to last night called to check on me earlier - I was obviously visibly sadder than I'd realised Sad fuckit.
So I went round to see her this morning (next village, cycled over - bum will regret that tomorrow) and we went for a walk with her dogs then sat in the garden.
When I got off the phone I just started sobbing again, and then spent quite a lot of the time in her garden in tears.
Bloody basket case, can't even blame it on hormones as I do pre-menstrual and my period is about to end. Maybe it's catch up from not doing pre-menstrual while we were away!
I thought on holiday maybe I would think about online dating when I got back, but clearly I'm in no state for that.
Talked to friend about that, she said I don't seem ready for that (I'd agree) but a fling might be just what I need. That would be nice, I'll just have to fight off the hordes while I decide who to chose (not). I actually think a fling is the last thing I need, I've never had a non-serious relationship in my life and I don't think now is the time to trial it, to much potential for hurt and I'm too fragile.

Over to my parents for tea shortly.

Willow2017 · 13/08/2017 17:23

No he doesn't have them overnight myriad of excuses No room other kids would disturb them etc. Might just try my luck though next school hols 😀 he'll be could stay here if his other half would let him😉
I think it might have a lot to do with the holiday 'come down'. It was a big thing and now its done maybe you are just processing it. Nothing wrong with a few tears of you need them. (I could be wrong though its it's happened before oh at least once in my lifetime 😀
Washing machine seems ok (touch eood) haven't put a big wash on but fingers crossed.

Gammon joint for tea them TKD. Get to sit in car in peace with my book for an hour bliss.

bookbook · 13/08/2017 17:50

Afternoon all
5 minutes sit down while things are cooking for tea.
Willow - that does seem a bit unfair , maybe if possible you need to actually tell him rather than ask IYSWIM? fingers crossed on the washing machine .
lovely to hear from you that all is well Somer - are you at the stage of just wanting to get it all done and over, but not relishing the idea of it either. ?
Chasing - sorry that everything is so hard for you at the moment. I am hoping that things will get better but that is easy for me to say, harder for you to cope in the meantime. Loneliness is a killer .((hugs))
In the UK when DD's were small, we used to just go to an hotel for a few days, somewhere that had a swimming pool perhaps, and some sort of day out thing. We never really went away for a whole week, just maybe 3 days , as I was a one man band small business , but I suspect it's all different now.
DD was asking us if we wanted to go to Legoland with them and DGS -( possibly half term) and DH's face was Hmm - no thanks Grin

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 13/08/2017 18:41

Ooh book if you come to Lego, we should meet! It's only down the road.

Still feeling rough. Slept 3 hours this afternoon.

Glad to see you're alright Somer. Hugs Squirrels and wave to everyone else x

Chasingsquirrels · 13/08/2017 21:33

Lol at your DH and legoland book, that would be my dad! My mum on the other hand came with me and ds's not long after exH left

Holiday come down is probably right, it's weird though - for about 3 weeks before we went away I was quite low - not as down as I was in early June but definitely low. This is different, I don't feel as low, I just keep crying!

Good tea with my parents and nice to see them. Just home.

Thinking of everyone.

Willow2017 · 13/08/2017 21:53

Evening all

cake hope you are feeling better soon. Good that you are getting a sleep when you need it. Behave and don't overdo it till you feel better.

Had kids at each other's throats this afternoon but guess what, after they had baths for last hour they've been playing upstairs on Xbox laughing their heads off 😀 kids are bad for your health!

Sitting watching Harry Potter I am such a sucker for this kind of stuff, just a big kid😀

bookbook · 13/08/2017 22:13

Evening
aw Cake - I suspect it won't happen, but if it does, I will be in touch! :). Sleep is the best thing to get better quickly - its your body's time to repair itself. yy to not trying to do too much.
yep Chasing - DH is quite blunt - not in a nasty way , but he doesn't try to pretend he wants to do things if he is not wanting to !
Maybe the crying is another way of letting stress out.
Willow - i read your posts and smile. I was rather lucky (I think!) that there is a biggish gap between mine - nearly 8 years, so they never really squabbled. I would get the 'whine' (from DD1 )- DD2 has borrowed my xyz, and broken/spoilt/lost it .....
I will hold my hand up - not read , or seen Harry Potter...
Well, an early night for me - we have a fun packed day tomorrow !?! , but all ready , have made a big pan of veg and bean soup thing for tea so I don't need to cook when we get back .
Hope Drama has had a good week - due home soon I think?
Thinking of you all
Sleep tight
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 13/08/2017 23:47

Aww book you really should watch it. It's really not just a kids story ( plus it's got Alan Rickman in it 😍)
The soup sounds lovely any spare?

Watching tattoo fixers what they can create with needles is amazing

Teen back in grumpy mode as took phone off him, knew it couldn't last😁

Goodnight all.

DramaAlpaca · 14/08/2017 00:07

Hello all, just a very quick check in before bed. I'll read the thread and catch up with you all properly tomorrow.

So I had a lovely time, really enjoyed doing what I wanted to do at my own pace. Saw two West End shows, did lots of museums and galleries, palaces and churches, walked miles and generally packed as much culture as I possibly could into four days.

My feet held up thankfully despite all the walking, but I was so tired when I got home that I slept for almost 12 hours. I have spent today putting right the mess that my menfolk had left the house in. I have had words with them all. I have also been shopping & filled up the fridge, much to their delight. I think they missed me Grin

I had a bit of a panicky moment when I got back to the airport long term car park at 11pm on Friday and couldn't find my car. I'd stupidly forgotten to make a note of where I'd left it, but had a rough idea. My car is tiny and hard to spot in a car park at the best of times. It took me a full half hour to find the darned thing, then I had a two hour drive home. Note to self - fly from the nearest airport next time even if it costs more, and write down where I leave the car!

lynmilne65 · 14/08/2017 07:30

Rain here in Scotland, have tidying to
do , but drinking coffee and netting in my PJS!!!

bookbook · 14/08/2017 09:12

Morning all
Willow - maybe one day :)
Drama - the devils - I hope they were suitably contrite. I haven't lost a car in a car park, as much as forgetting when we changed our car. Same model, different colour. I kept looking for the old one ....! I know what you mean about flying from the nearest airport . For us, the cost of getting to a further one, and the fees to car park outweigh the extra cost of flying from a local one usually.
Right , I am suitably attired in my decorating gear . Its a good look Hmm] off for a long, day.
And I have a committee meeting tonight too !
Hope everyone has a good day

Willow2017 · 14/08/2017 10:48

Morning all

So cold this morning when I got up at 7 I out the heating on! Rain rain and more rain here.

Managed to get kids up early (well teen made it down in nick of time if he had been going to school 😀) must do better tomorrow.

Pottering day but of housework might go into town for last hurrah with ds2.

I have embarrassed myself and kids more than once when I got my new car by trying to get into the wrong one 😀 well they were big and grey and next to mine that's my excuse 😀
Always double check where we park these days as have had to search for car before and it's not fun.

Hope the decorating goes well book
Plenty cups of coffee to keep you going.

SelenaValentina · 14/08/2017 12:15

Good afternoon everyone! Welcome home to Drama, and good to have you back somer, cake hope you're feeling bit better, cheers to everyone else.

I put a Disney thing on my aerial because my son's lovely partner got me one - Tigger, wonder what she's trying to say? I'm amazed how helpful it is when gazing round car park in befuddlement!

I've just been for hearing test, organised by GP, done by Specsavers/NHS, all in space of 2 weeks! Aids fitted there and then, now getting used to them. The lounge clock (may have to go), the car indicators have all developed extremely loud ticks!!!

This getting old is not always fun, but at least not an ear trumpet or those huge things that squealed and weren't much use! They're really quite neat.

Have a good day, everyone. Sun in and out here.

Willow2017 · 14/08/2017 12:41

selena
You might finds they need adjusting before they get them to the right comfortable volume for you. My aunt did ( hearing aid person was blooming snippy first time as she wouldnt believe she had them too loud but thats another story ) and they were much better.

I would love a tigger but I don't have an ariel so no help to me at all!

Horsemad · 14/08/2017 17:34

Hello Smile

Just chilling for 5 before I start our meal.

Welcome Home Drama! Your week away sounds fab, and I did laugh at your 'lost' car. Just the sort of thing I'd do! Grin

Hope your decorating has gone ok book. I like the idea of decorating, but not the reality!

Are your DC ready to return to school Willow? Wink Hope it's been a good 'last day'.

Selena, you remind me of when I got glasses for the first time - it was like someone had washed the windows!!! GrinGrinGrin

I hope everyone has had a lovely day and that Cake is feeling better. Flowers

Ok, off to cook now!

Chasingsquirrels · 14/08/2017 18:27

Oh cars in car parks!
My key wouldn't work when we got back (meet & greet so they'd had the key), I though it was the battery, the drivers door wasn't locked, we got in & came home.
Couple of days later I change the battery & still doesn't work, I swap the battery from the working fob & still doesn't work.
So either a recode (£60) or a new key and a recode (£280).
I need to call the airport parking and complain ...

Work today & tomorrow and a meeting Wednesday morning and that's it for the week.
Boys back to tomorrow evening.
Then I'll do a half day early next week and work full days Thursday and Friday after they go back to their dad's.

I'm very lucky in the flexibility I have at work over the school holidays.

Going to a WAY meal tonight, hopefully a few people I've met a couple of times so should be good.

Barely cried at all at work today (thankfully!), had a moment when my eyes filled as I was emailing a client who'd asked how I was but that was it.

Hope back to school goes okay tomorrow Willow.

Cake hope you are feeling better.

Drama hope your men are on their best behaviour after your break!

Book hope your day wasn't too exhausting.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 14/08/2017 21:19

Hi ladies, I've read all your posts but didn't get a chance to post and now my brain is mush.

Had a very full on day. Hoping tomorrow I can calm down a bit and just stick the boys in soft play and get to PO to post off paperwork relating to car.

Will check in properly tomorrow. Hoping every one gets some sleep! X

bookbook · 14/08/2017 21:27

Evening all
very weary here. Just had a quick tea, thank goodness I had made the soup! then out for meeting, then home and straight into a hot bath.
Will be asleep shortly .....Grin
Willow - has it done anything but rain with you these holidays? Tomorrow will be strange, getting back into school mode .Every Mum breathes a sigh of relief I think !
Selena - wow that was quick! but its surprising how quickly you will get used to them I bet.
Horse - I know what you mean about the idea, rather than the actual stuff.
DH and I take it very steady now - take time and try not to rush, but today has been manic. Much more to do than was realised. The tenants have been careless and negligent to say the least, but thats a fight DD1 and son in law have to do, not me thank goodness. We just need to sort all the damage out. So we shall be going back for two more days at least while she wrangles some compensation for damage.
Chasing - that sounds very odd - I wonder why the passenger door was unlocked ? It sounds not right at all, definitely complain I think, thats a chunk of money you shouldn't need to spend . Hope the meal went well :)
Signing off for tonight - need to be up bright and early tomorrow - we have DGS for the day, and everyone for tea , so another full day ahead
Sleep tight all
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 14/08/2017 22:36

Evening all.

Well all set for tomorrow. Lunches done, bags all set, padlocks done, emergency money in wallets and me in mild panic mode Smile I have a list of jobs to do tomorrow to keep me occupied so I dont think about it too much. Just really worried he has a panic attack, trying to think positively and have had chats with him about how well he will do. Keep your fingers crossed please.

Book sounds like a long day, hope they fed and wattered you well Wink Oh and raining again tonight!

Squirrels I would definately be querying that with car park, sounds very dodgy, why was the door unlocked?

Horsemad · 14/08/2017 22:43

Good Luck for tomorrow Willow. This year there is no 'back to school' for us; we are waiting on A level results...

I can't actually believe we have no more school and would like to turn the clock back 10yrs please! Smile
