Just starting a new thread on Juan's orders. She'll be back when she feels up to it.

Thinking of her on Sunday/Monday as always.

yo???
You!

Chasingsquirrels · 09/08/2017 01:22

Just home and into bed - ds1 NEEDED food so waiting for him to finish and come to bed before I switch the light off.
And my body clock is 2 hours ahead. I'm knackered.
Ds1 in tears on the plane, presumably about John. I just cuddled him. Okay now I think.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 09/08/2017 06:41

Morning all!

Struggled to get to sleep and awake at 5:30 Hmm going to be a long day.

I use 6 seats really and have the 7th taken out at the moment to fit my giant pushchair, so a 7 seater is what I'm after. willow parking is never an issue, apart from outside school where I have to show up fairly early to fit and the local multi story is tricky but there are a few spaces that I know I can use if I go in early, otherwise I park in a different one. DH is like a bloody magician and can park any car in any space!

Oh my goodness drama that sounds like you've crammed a week into one day! I visited the V&A for the first time this year and would love to go back.

Hope you are fast asleep squirrel and able to have a long lie in today. Glad that the boys are showing their emotions even if it's not nice for them to be upset. Thinking of you all.

Today we're waiting in for the car man, trying to sort car seats, DH is taking DS swimming, doing some painting and we are having some friends over this afternoon so there will be 5 children between 1-5 in the front room as it's so wet! eeek!

DD back later - so pleased, it's been 10 days.

Hope juan and family are also having a good time

Morning Smile

More rain Sad Car is in for service today and a haircut for me. A day for doing paperwork methinks.

Drama, you are packing it all in!

Chasing, poor DS1 but it's good he is not bottling things up. Things sometimes sneak up on us, don't they?

Cake, 5 children!! Shock Takes me back to when mine were little and we met up with friends. Oh the noise! Grin

Hope everyone has a good day, I'm off to climb the paperwork mountain...

bookbook · 09/08/2017 08:59

Morning all
Cake - 5.30 , oh no and what a packed day, maybe it won't rain, fingers crossed . But a good one by sounds, especially DD back :)
Drama - that sounds wonderful Envy - many years ago we had a little run of having a trip to London for a couple of days , and we managed to see some fabulous stage shows - The King and I , West Side Story, Chicago and the like. Nothing like really a good live show.
Willow - me too with that song .
Chasing - good to hear you are safe home - holidays are tiring I think - maybe DS1 was able to forget all about it , and it comes rushing back, doesn't it. I wonder if the food was an emotional hungry ?
It isn't raining here , but still big puddles - it kept raining well into the night. So o going to the allotment. Off out with DH this morning - he has a physio appointment, its a way to drive, so it helps for me to drive back
Hoping everyone has a good day
.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 09/08/2017 09:32

aaaaaargh!!!! insurance claims Angry (on hold with car seats people who have done nothing and asked me all the same questions as on Monday)

OP posts:
bookbook · 09/08/2017 10:08

I'm on hold with pensions people cake - I don'y want to use the call back thingy as we are going out in about 45 minutes ...
Horse - it has stopped here , but Lincs got a real bashing yesterday, and I see the same today .
Selena* - we looked at Amtico and Karndean, but didn't go for them. What we did manage to do was buy an alike in tile form, and our kitchen people had an Amtico fitter to lay them. For me, my priority was for the worktop I wanted. btw - pan drawers are ace - wish I had had more fitted.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 09/08/2017 10:28

Car seats sort of sorted now.

Have a good day book - it is every bit as wet as forecast here. Waiting for garage man now...

bookbook · 09/08/2017 10:52

phew - I'm done, restorative cup of coffee, then off out - Bright sun here now!

Horsemad · 09/08/2017 10:54

Still raining here and I am procrastinating Smile

DramaAlpaca · 09/08/2017 15:48

Lashing rain here. I am sitting in a cafe trying to dry out & kill a bit of time before my next activity. My feet are soaked & I have a blister Sad Of course, the weather at home is glorious. I picked the wrong week.

Chasingsquirrels · 09/08/2017 16:05

Sounds like you've been having a fabulous time Drama, shame about the rain today.

Cake car sounds a bit of a pain in the neck, hope it all gets sorted soon.

We had a lovely lovely holiday. We went to Norida Beach hotel in Kos, and didn't leave the hotel all week - which is really lazy but I guess we just needed the down time.
We lazed, read, played cards, did archery a few times, swam, took canoes and pedalos out on the sea and ate and drank.
Shame the weather back home today is so awful!

I missed John - but I think because it wasn't something we'd done before with the boys I didn't miss him in the same way as I would have if we'd done a similar type of holiday all together.
Coming home, without him, is another matter. It just brings his absence back and I miss him dreadfully.
Flying back last night I couldn't help thinking about our last flight together - we went to Antigua in February 2016 and I remembered thinking then that I'd had such a lovely time with him but I hated the flight back, and maybe we wouldn't go again next year. Two weeks after that I'd booked 10 days in Spain for Summer 2016. Little did I know then than only a few weeks later our lives were going to change so drastically.

Up late this morning and felt jetlagged but okay after a shower. Nearly all washing done, and everything put away etc. DS1 over to see his girlfriend and DS2 & I have been to Tesco and then just had a lazy afternoon with me catching up with Corrie and some admin tasks. Going to pick up DS1 shortly then over to my parents for tea.

Willow2017 · 09/08/2017 16:44

Afternoon all.

Drama sounds like you are still busy having a good time despite the weather.

Squirrels Its a catch 22 situation isnt it? Everyone who has lost someone needs to accept the fact that they are making new memories without that person but feel a bit guilty for doing so. And of course holidays are 'out of time' and you come home to 'real time' and he isnt there. Its all still new and of course hard for you all. ((hugs))

Well lost an hour of my life I wont get back filling in the application form for the red cross charity shop nearby! Its so restictive not everyone has left a job before they start looking for others! Why the hell do they need my driving license details and what vehicles I can drive? OOOOOh it drove me mad, rant over.

Been to town and handed in application form elsewhere, went to BT shop and got ds2's phone up and working again but forgot to get bigger memory card so he can play games...apparently his isnt compatable with the game he wants so will have to see if its the phone or memory card. Nothing is ever simple is it? Had a coffee and a pastry with him too.

Need to tidy up my desk but also need to get tea organised...think I need a glass of wine first Wink
Oh and why did MN decide to drop me and make me log in for the first time in ages on my phone? PC remembers me fine! Had to redo my password as I couldnt remember it! Technology sucks Angry

Sun shining here today again, cant believe it.

Chasingsquirrels · 09/08/2017 17:59

Keeping fingers crossed for you on the job front Willow.

I don't feel guilty about making memories without him, nor about not missing him when I don't. I just feel dreadfully lonely when I do miss him. It was also good to be able to completely ignore the paperwork and administration that needs sorting.

Willow2017 · 09/08/2017 19:34

Selena didnt mean to project its just something a relative of mine said to mum years ago and it always stuck with me. Hope I didnt offend you. Of course there is no need to feel guilty just something she did at first after her husband died.

Had chinese take away, stuffed now Smile. Someone do the dishes for me?

Should go and water garden but the hose is leaking and I dont want to get soaked!

Chasingsquirrels · 09/08/2017 19:49

Wish I needed to water - it's been torrential rain here today!

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 09/08/2017 21:27

Hello, well what a day! Car is a write off so will have to worry about that tomorrow. Got 2 car seats sorted so for now we can get out. Need to get a 3rd for Monday.

Very very wet here. Was chaos with all the smalls in one space, but made the day pass faster.

Just going to crawl into bed and do a food order for Friday as I need to keep everyone fed too!

Hope you all sleep well.

OP posts:
bookbook · 09/08/2017 22:18

Evening all
Drama - poor feet - wet and blistered - but hope the weather turns better for you
Chasing - glad the holiday was so good , (hugs) for the rest
Willow - hoping one of your applications get you an interview - I thought half the reason for a take away was there were no dishes?????
Cake - the write off can be a good thing, but what a pain, to be forced into looking for a car.
Been out all day , just been slobbing tonight .But no rain here at least!
Thinking of you all
Sleep tight

SelenaValentina · 09/08/2017 22:22

Willow think that was for squirrels?

We've had lovely day today and supposed to be even better tomorrow (believe it when I see it). Sorted flooring subject to quote, going for Karndean as the only one with a very light grey mix, not with beigey or pinkey overtones.

DS throwing bit of a wobbler about all the clearing (the garage in particular) but now decided a skip is essential - I'm sure the neighbours will love getting rid of their stuff in it too I told him. He'll have to work very fast!

Sleep well everyone and I hope the Universe smiles kindly on us all and sorts us out in the best way possible. Soonest, please!

Willow2017 · 09/08/2017 22:33

Yes sorry, was trying to do too many things at once!

Chasingsquirrels · 09/08/2017 22:41

I did realise, and was in no way offended Willow x

JaneJeffer · 09/08/2017 22:50

Hi all, you have all been so busy I'm finding it hard to keep up!

Thanks for all your good wishes. DF is not too good and DM is upset because she has been told that he might have to go into care for a little while. She just wants to keep him at home and is afraid he won't ever come home again.

I'm going to have to go to the doctors about the IBS because I've had a bit of bleeding today so I'm a bit worried about that.

Cake sorry to hear about your car.
Drama pity about the weather. At least in London you can spend time indoors! It has been lovely here the last couple of days. I think it's the curse of living here, when you go away the rain follows you Grin
Glad you had a nice holiday squirrels

JaneJeffer · 09/08/2017 22:53

I meant to add, I don't know if anyone has seen it and I can't do a link on the app, frasersmummy's DH died of a brain haemorrhage. The thread is LIfe is Shit in 30 days only topic Sad so sad.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 10/08/2017 06:24

Morning all

Early start again

Looks like it may be dry today, but I'm taking the boys to an indoor play while DH and DD get on with sorting her room for painting. She's dead excited, saying things like "It's going to be fun" I've told her she has no idea and that it's going to be hard work and boring Grin

drama I hope you are feeling a bit better today. Did you take different shoes? Those Scholl blister plaster things are good.

Willow good luck with the job hunt. I do fear trying to re enter the world of proper work at some point. Can't CM forever.

Selena I'm glad DS is going to help. Must be hard for him too.

book I hope you had a relaxing evening after your busy day.

Squirrel are you back to work or not till next week?

Jane I hope that the GP can help. It's tough to face up to ageing and making the decision that is right for the person involved rather than what you (your mum) wants. Hope it gets sorted.

Poor frasersmummy

Missing quite a few regulars... wonder how echt and the pregnant ones are doing!

Morning all
Just about to shift myself , hang washing out and then off to the allotment.
It is sunny :)
But - woke up this morning and the central heating had clicked on from a minimum temp thing . Its August Shock
Selena - my floor tiles are pale grey - we obviously think alike .:)
Jane - the worry is worst before you know what the problem is - once you do you can have a plan and sort, but imagination /speculation is very stressful. Hope you get an answer quickly . Sounds like a bit of a tough time for you .
Cake - painting around stuff is fraught - good idea to get out of the way!
Drama - any rickshaws in London? enjoy anyway
Have a good day all
