New thread :). Thought I'd start this one like I ended the last one - Bertie crashed out after a busy day's mischief making.

Cake - I must admit , I love puddings, but .... they were nearly all faffy - loved the sound of the one that won - I love pannacotta , and it was almost one :) DS okay now then fingers crossed?
Sitting down to crotchet, DH popped out for the evening , so a bit of chocolate to help me along....

JaneJeffer · 29/06/2017 21:26

Willow hope you have a lovely holiday. I've never heard the word drooked before!

Glad your DH is comfortable Selena.

Very cold and windy here. I've got the fire going.

magimedi · 29/06/2017 21:57

Flowers for Selena & Echt.

I've been away & have kept off social media for a week or so after coming back as it so helps me with my anxiety problems. But I feel OK enough to dip in again & wanted to touch base with you all again.

Juan - hope you are coping.

Much love to everyone.

SelenaValentina · 29/06/2017 22:15

Hello magimedi, welcome back.

And thank you.

bookbook · 29/06/2017 22:20

Just popped in to say good night
hello magi - hope you had a good holiday.
Good night all, sleep well
Thoughts and Prayers xx

Chasingsquirrels · 29/06/2017 22:53

Have a lovely holiday Willow

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 30/06/2017 05:45

Morning. We were up with the sun this morning! Two small bowls of cereal has been administered so now we wait. We have plans for tomorrow and Sunday so I really hope we get to tomorrow morning's 48hrs clear!

I really didn't want to see 4;57 on the clock as I struggled to sleep, every little noise he made, I was ready with the sick bowl! (and lots of strange dreams)

Nevermind! Need to get DD to school for 8am and then we'll build his bug hotel for which we've got all the stuff but haven't had time/energy.

magi it's good to see you back. I find that the constant 'on' feeling with my emails/texts/BBMs/FB on my phone adds to my anxiety but I don't feel like I can be uncontactable either. Catch 22 of the modern world.

Hope that Willow and sons are on their way to the airport only good reason to be up early

book I agree with you - they were all very fussy and fiddly. Give me some ice cream and chocolate sauce Wink or a nice Eton mess. Hope you enjoyed your chocolate.

Wow, Jane a fire! I've had sleeves on but not needed heating. Love the idea of a real fire but I'm sure I wouldn't cope with making and clearing out and tending a fire!

Chasingsquirrels · 30/06/2017 07:26

Morning cake, fingers crossed for a symptom free ds. Hope you have a good day.

magi you've been to Turkey on your recent holiday? I've been looking at holidays there and the deals look fantastic but I'm just a bit wary - should I book to go??

Selena thinking of you both.

Colder here but not heating weather, although I have been wearing another layer in the evening.

Not going to bed early enough, but still woke at 7 by ds2, and it's catching up with me. Early night tonight - although I said that last night then got chatting with my WAY contact online.

Willow2017 · 30/06/2017 08:18

Morning all.
Thanks for the good wishes for the hols.

Weather not much better still drizzling on and very foggy. Just what I need to be driving in😀 be leaving in couple of hours and i have a 'nervous' tum 😲fingers crossed it's just nerves.

Hope you all have bug free stress free days today.

magimedi · 30/06/2017 08:29

Squirrels - Turkey was fine - if you are going to the touristy bits on the Med/Agaen you will be OK. I honestly felt safer there than I do don a day trip to London.

Be warned that if you are going July/August it will be very hot - think top 30's to 40's!!!

Chasingsquirrels · 30/06/2017 08:37

Thanks - logically I know we'd almost certainly be fine and the chances of any problems are very low ... but.
My main concern is my brother (Turkish citizen who rather live in Turkey than anywhere else) doesn't want to be there at the moment, but that's his circumstances and to live, not a short holiday.
Must grasp the nettle.

Black humour alert - when we had our WAY meet up at the weekend we'd been sitting together at the end and when we got up to leave a bloke came over to get some of the chairs. He asked if we were going as "he hadn't wanted to jump into anyone's grave". It went totally quiet and no one said anything at all - and I wondered if I was the only one who was amused by it!

Willow2017 · 30/06/2017 09:18

squirrels i have to confess i would have found it amusing to. Ex nurse so black humour was par for the course sometimes. Sometimes it works wonders in a situation to relieve tension.

We are all ready just a minor panic ds1 couldn't find his neck pillow. You know the one I put on in his bed a week ago and told him to put in his carry on bag! Bloody teens😠

SelenaValentina · 30/06/2017 09:41

squirrels - I'd have been giggling all the way home! One of the things I'll really miss about DH as we have the identical sense of humour!

Just gently faffing about, my lovely cleaner comes today and I really don't want her to think (though she knows) that it's me who creates the chaos Blush. Then meeting a friend for coffee whilst she works her magic, then I'll go and see DH and help with his lunch.

Doesn't look like sunbathing in the garden this afternoon, Willow can I come too?

bookbook · 30/06/2017 09:57

Morning all
that made me grin a bit too Chasing - what is the point of pussyfooting around!
Willow - have a good journey - yep, DC are like that no doubt, but I am the opposite - constant checking that I have everything.
Today is finishing tidying/cleaning, then off to look around an auction after lunch ( the actual auction not until tomorrow) followed by a trip to pick up food ready for Sunday.
Selena - many moons ago, when very busy with a baby, I had a cleaner. DH used to laugh at me, as I did more tidying/cleaning before she arrived, so it wasn't too bad....:).
A bit grey here, but not so cold, so have stuffed a load of washing in, in the hopes it will dry .
Have a good day all xx

Chasingsquirrels · 30/06/2017 11:19

Inspired by Willow I've just put a temporary dye on my hair. It's only a 6-8 wash one I picked up in Poundland months ago and never used.
I found my first grey hair in my mid twenties and have gone between natural and full head home dyes ever since. I don't like dying it because I can't be bothered to keep it up, and hate the growing out phase, but then sometimes I just fancy a change.
I used to use the temporary ones in my teens to give a reddy tinge but haven't seen them for years, so when I saw it I thought I'd get it.
So now I'm brunette again instead of salt & pepper. Looks most strange - like the me I used to be.
I hope it is 6-8 washes and fades as I don't want to have grey roots! I don't mind grey all over, just not that roots line.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 30/06/2017 12:14

Hope the colour is a success. I've stopped completely a few years ago now and there are greys but I cannot afford to go to the salon constantly and struggle to do at home and whenever I see someone with completely white roots and dye growing out, I think that I don't want that to be me one day!

So far so good, Chessington here we come (tomorrow)

Hope all calms willow

Can't cope with the idea of someone in my house seeing my dirt/mess Selena though it would be nice to have a non judging cleaning fairy!

SelenaValentina · 30/06/2017 16:21

Today has been meltdown day. Sad In tears what seems like every hour as everyone I met was kind (!!). At nursing home they are confirming DS and my suspicions that DH now in a different phase, oxycodone being upped quite a lot to stop breakthrough pain and I know, I know there can be no happy ending - but ....!

Now I'm off again. Tears are words so I seem to have a lot to say today.

On a happier note, the house has been magic-ed and I do feel, Cake, that is she is just that, a non judging cleaning fairy, who is also upset about DH.

YourselfOrSomeoneLikeYou · 30/06/2017 17:41

Sending you a cakey hug selena sorry that there won't be a happily ever after. Hope that his pain is controlled and that he will be peaceful x

Chasingsquirrels · 30/06/2017 17:44

Thinking of you all Selena. I hope he is pain free and things go easily for you all. I have no more word and tears in my eyes and sadness in my heart - for you, for Juan, for myself and for anyone going through this. Stay strong and take things as they come.

bookbook · 30/06/2017 20:21

Evening all
Selena - sounds like a very tough day - have a hand hold from me and ((hugs)) .
I'm just too lazy fro hair dye - the thought of having to re do it sounds like hard work to me .But, if it lifts your spirits Chasing , why not , every bit helps.
Cake - hope you have a good day tomorrow.
Sending strength to you all , in my thoughts x

Chasingsquirrels · 30/06/2017 20:26

Ah but that's the thing, if it washes out in 6-8 washes (and it better had as promised on the box) then I won't have any roots growing through by then and it's just been a change for a few days.
No hassle though, just wash hair, put dye on and wait 10 minutes then rinse off - so I did it in the bath and had a nice soak first.
Kids haven't mentioned it - probably not even noticed.
