New thread :). Thought I'd start this one like I ended the last one - Bertie crashed out after a busy day's mischief making.

Ohhh grrr - ds2 got me to nit comb him on Friday, nits galore, did my own and a few, been doing us both daily since - he was pretty clear today, I didn't find any in my own yesterday or today. Told ds1 earlier that I was doing his - monster sized ones! Only bloody waving their not-so-little legs at me.

Eek, that has made my head itch! We also had the dreaded text to say they're doing the rounds but I've yet to comb.

Selena though I don't even know you, I feel so dreadfully sad for you and DH, which we were all geographically close so we could help in a more tangible way.

argh - nits what a faffing nuisance they are. DD1 was lucky enough to never get them , but DD2 - well I got through more hair conditioner and lavender oil than I care to think of .
Heat always tires me Jane - I'm just not cut out for it .
School holidays already? I think around here it is July 21st. I only have DGS another twice before then - his school induction is the Tuesday I normally have him - 11th I think , and then off on holiday, and 'big boy school' in September ... it is going to leave a hole , no doubting it.

well , I have the chicken bones in the pressure cooker to make some stock for risotto for tea , I have prepped up gooseberries to make jam this afternoon. Load of washing in . Need to go and get some shopping in, and pop a book back to the library .

Morning all.

Still waiting on engineer was up and cleared all the kitchen around the ff this morning. Dragged ds1 out of his bed to wait downstairs in case he came while at Drs. Got prescription for anti biotics for ds2 just in case we need them. And still made it to school just as they were lining up phew!

Running around doing last minute stuff, paying CC, making sure kids have earphones for consoles's for plane, putting washing away etc. All the little jobs that take up time! What a glamorous life I lead If ds1 doesnt get off his butt and tidy up his bed before his pal arrives I will stangle him!

Not raining (yet) cloudy and dull though but fingers crossed for washing trying to get as much done as poss.

Thankfully my kids have never had nits. It must be such a faff, especially annoying when parents dont bother and send their kids in with them time and time again.

OK somebody is out to get me!

Need a new pin for my holiday cash card. Phone lines are down and they dont know when they will be fixed! They will email me! This could only happen to me And breath!

Am tying to keep busy to keep my mind of potential disasters Am going to pick up ds2 from school today as its the last day ever for primary, soppy old mum They will all come out with their jumpers written all over by their classmates, its really cute.

Aw, we had a long sleeved shirt still hanging in my wardrobe at "home" Tissues at the ready? I'm not really the soppy type about stuff like this...

He's not himself. Asleep so that is going to be a fun night, but at least haven't been sick again and has eaten bits and drunk milk and water.

Aww poor wee soul, hope he is better soon. Best thing for you when you are poorly is sleep but not great if they will be awake half the night!

Finally got my P.I.N. I am never going on holiday again, I need a holiday to get over the stress of going on holiday!

well, got everything done I needed to do , and a quiet afternoon with some housework and crotchet . Just been invited to enjoy a morning at DGS preschool ( with DGS obvs!) meeting Safari Sam next Tuesday - goodness knows what it is !
Just about to watch Great British Menu. Not sure I am so keen - they seem to make a mess up of a lot of nice (and weird) ingredients IMO :)

I am in too minds about gm too. They either faff too much for me or it looks amazing and judges still pick holes in it. They do annoy me sometimes especially the ones who are not actually chefs 😀

Brave Willow - home hair dye. Never dyed mine, but DD2 dyed hers red a few years ago in my downstairs shower room. One of the towels never recovered....,

No nits on me or ds2. Ds1 has some tinies and lots of eggs so gave his hair a good going over, but no monsters tonight. So hopefully over the worst of it.

Hair is mahogany red😀😀 it's permanent so hopefully wont leave red on towels in hotel 😀

Morning. He went to sleep at 6:45 and slept till 5:45. Had a big drink of water which came straight up but had cereal which has stayed down. I slept pretty much the same as him - feel grotty but sure that a shower will help.

Willow hope the hair looks good and that you can destress now.
book also watched bits of that program and they are so tough and picky! Was saying to DH that you wouldn't want to a veggie or vegan guest!

Had a text from Juan yesterday. Car trouble on top of the bathroom work, but as OK as can be expected.

grey and dismal here - the central heating clicked on yesterday evening and this morning .
Cake - sore tummies are horrid , but good that he has kept some cereal down. It may be that if it was very cold water, that may have been why it came straight up. We tend to use cooled boiled water, still warm. Or..... (info supplied by a trained pharmacist) flat full coke. It helps clear up bugs too . Not surprising really - when DD's did thinking day at Brownies, they had to clean pennies - we dropped them in saucers of coke - brings them out shiny.......

Just a quick hello to wish everyone a good day.

It was a year yesterday that my DH died. Oddly I had felt actively sad and disturbed in the run-up to the anniversary, tic in the eye, stress spots, shocking sleep. I had awful work deadlines, all of which came to halt the day before.

I spent the day with DD, drove down the coast and had lunch in utterly brilliant sunshine. A beautiful day. We talked of DH with pleasure, not overwhelmingly sad.

I know this can all go tits-up at a moment's notice and be plunged back into the grief, but it was good to feel calm, and take pleasure in the day.

book it wasn't cold cold but think it went in too quickly. He won't entertain coke unlike me Cereal came up after an hour but since then there has been no stopping him!

Hi ladies.

Am drooked😀😀 it's been bucketing all night and still is. Took the guinea pigs for their hols and was soaked by time we got home. Roads are flooding in places rivers running down them! Need to clean out hutch later what fun!

Just got last minute things to pack later ( meds etc) and turf ds1 out of bed and find him a job to do😀

Book it's ok thanks not as strong as usual maybe it's just the flowers this year? There seems to be a real glut maybe they just aren't as perfumed? Am gutted as wanted to go and pick more to freeze but you don't pick them wet. All those flowers going to 'waste'.😔

echt I think the anticipation can often be worse than the event. I'm glad that you and dd had a good day together.

I think my house need visitors to preempt some cleaning! Or maybe I just need to pull my finger out! The boys and I had a mini blitz last week, that will do for a while.

DH remains the same, looks very sleepy but chirps in with relevant conversation. Eating very little but enjoying his diabetic ice cream .
