New thread :). Thought I'd start this one like I ended the last one - Bertie crashed out after a busy day's mischief making.

So sorry to hear that Selena. It's good that he isn't in pain. Flowers

Somerville · 23/06/2017 09:59

Oh I'm so sorry Selena my dear. I wouldn't worry about the sorting the house at the moment. Flowers

DramaAlpaca · 23/06/2017 09:59

I'm sorry to hear that too Selena [flower]

DramaAlpaca · 23/06/2017 10:00

Sorry, that was meant to be Flowers a whole big bunch, not just one.

bookbook · 23/06/2017 10:02

Morning all
oh Selena - the news is inevitable, but so hard to bear ((hugs)) Flowers
Raining here too, just gradually getting heavier from light drizzle to heavier.
I was going to the allotment, but have been to the shops instead. Ran around to pick up a card , so I can parcel up and send jacket to nephew and partner, and so also got my fish for tea, meat for Sunday and popped into the library to pick up a book I had ordered.
Hopefully it won't rain too badly, as the rest of tonights tea needs picking ( broad beans, peas, new potatoes) so may have to get wet. Mind you, we do need the rain - the courgettes are starting to grow, and they need regular water.
So it may be an inside day today . I need to sort out my back bedroom chest of drawers - it is where I keep all my wool. I had an order delivered last week, and when I went to put it in, one of the drawer bottoms fell out . Just an indication of maybe a tweak too much wool...Have to get on with the knitting and crotchet .
A bit of cooking too needed - some compote to make, and some strawberry ice cream too.
Hope everyone is well, have a good day
Thoughts and Prayers to all xx

Sorry to hear about your DH, Selena, but good that he's comfortable. Thanks

Willow2017 · 23/06/2017 10:32

Selena I am glad your Dh is comfy and pain free but the news is something you can never prepare for. I am truly sorry that it is coming so soon. Flowers

Dull, cool and threatening rain here too.

Ds1 off school today feeling sick (colour me a tad suspicious 😀) I have taken the opportunity to go through his school bag 😀 what a shambles!! Sorted it out and will have the talk about being organised to make life so much easier yet again 😤
Fridge freezer is still not cold enough will have to GALMI 😀

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 23/06/2017 12:15

Hello ladies

Glad the baby has arrived safely book

Selena I'm thinking of you and DH. I'm glad he's pain free and in a better setting, but so sad that you are having to say goodbye. All we can do is be here to support from afar.

Cakes have gone into school. I've been sweeping the patio, rinsing the paddling pool and cleaning the downstairs. Warm here!

Willow2017 · 23/06/2017 13:03

Well GALM coming on monday to see the Fridge freezer. The freezer bit seems to be working but not the fridge! FIngers crossed I get a new one out of it! Been paying insurance for years and never claimed, think I am due one Wink

Got appointment for the Guineas at vets later for check up before they go their hols next week.

Now what else is on my list....

Rained here but sun shining now...dare I put washing back out?

Chasingsquirrels · 23/06/2017 14:50

Selena there is nothing I can say that actually matters right now, but I am thinking of you and your DH, and we are all here for you.

SelenaValentina · 23/06/2017 15:17

Thank you, Squirrels, and everyone for your support and good wishes.

Stubborn as ever, he has rallied a bit today! The nursing home have been fine-tuning the meds and now pro tem withdrawing the one that made him very sleepy, whilst still ensuring total pain relief. Lovely to see him today out of pain and fairly coherent Smile if only for 10 minutes.

The roller coaster continues apace.

bookbook · 23/06/2017 20:11

Evening all
oh, that sounds better for you and your DH Selena - hope it continues .
Cake - still warm there - its been dull, grey and drizzly here.
Willow - hope the fridge gets sorted one way or another.
Well, after being so organised this morning I lost my purse. Cue panic . Went and retraced shopping trip, went over what I did. Turfed the car out, looked everywhere. An hour wasted, and just decided to start ringing to cancel cards and it was there . I had looked there half a dozen times, I swear ..... weird. So just a little stressed. So I went to the allotment for a nice stress free hour , and spent it in reinforcing fencing as a rabbit had been and sampled a few beans and cauliflower. Felt a bit like Mr MCGregor . But I did pick a nice array of stuff for tea, so managed to lose the rage :)
Now I am going to sit and crotchet.
Have a good evening all
Thoughts and Prayers x

SelenaValentina · 23/06/2017 20:40

Ha ha book, that happens so often to me.

And DH always came out with 'Where did you have it last?', grrrrrrrr. I have a theory that important things vanish into a hole in cyber space, deciding then whether to pop back up or go off somewhere else. I can't really think of any other explanation.

It happened to me last night when my reading glasses were no longer on my head, down my top, in the car, or in my bag. Went to the car this morning - there they are on the front seat. But they weren't last night!!!!

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 23/06/2017 21:25

Hello.

Sounds like you've all had very productive days. Children had friends round so supervising, feeding, cleaning etc

Going to pop into bed in a minute and watch HIGNFY. DH watching Versailles but I've missed most of the 2nd series, so not interested.

Glad DH was a bit more with it Selena

Hope you all sleep well. We have a busy weekend (as always)

DramaAlpaca · 23/06/2017 22:33

Went clothes shopping with DS(23) this afternoon. It was fun helping him update his wardrobe and I feel quite honoured that he wanted his old mum along for sartorial advice. My that young man can spend money!! But as he said, it was his annual clothes shop. He bought the coffees and cake too Smile

Looking forward to a day of rugby and tennis watching tomorrow, and catching up on a few loads of laundry and some housework.

Somerville · 23/06/2017 22:54

I have a quiet (and hopefully cool) weekend planned. Bliss.

Would one of you nice lot mind screen shotting or forwarding me (could PM my email address) that talk round up where DDog-Parmesan thread is mentioned? I need it for spousal teasing reasons.

Somerville · 24/06/2017 00:24

Thank you book. Xx

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 24/06/2017 06:26

Morning you lot! That was another restless night. Both children sneezing in their sleep and muggy!

There wasn't Have I got news for you on last night Angry so got to sleep pretty early.

Sounds like a nice day out Drama I'd love to go shopping with my mum and we do if we get the chance every couple of years

Rest up Somer

bookbook · 24/06/2017 09:20

Morning all
Selena - it happens more to my DH than me in this house - he is truly dreadful, and puts things down in the most odd places, and then accuses me of moving it.....!
Somer - you are welcome - all in the cause of DH teasing :) - Hope its cool enough for you this weekend .
Cake oh dear , no sleep again - poor you ( and DC of course!) And yes, no HIGNFY take it steady, even if you are busy.
Drama - it's lovely when they do that isn't it. A nice warm feeling that you have done something right . I tend to go out with my two DD's every now and then - it usually ends up with a lot of giggling over the madness that is fashion though, being female!
Just about to head off to check over the rabbit defences at the allotment . Hoping it stays dry to get the grass cut, a lazy day though I think - ( ha!)
Have a nice day all
Thoughts and Prayers xx

Chasingsquirrels · 24/06/2017 10:46

cake I was searching the TV listing for HIGNFY last night after you posted and was very confused. Ended up watching Mock the Week from the night before with ds1 and his friend who was staying over.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 24/06/2017 14:04

Going along at a gentle pace...

JaneJeffer · 24/06/2017 14:21

Horrible muggy day here. I've got a splitting headache but need to get tidying up as have nephew coming for the night. Trying to keep an eye on the tennis.

DS1 had a late night out and gone off to work today. I'm sure it'll catch up with him later.

We had bonfire night last night which is still smouldering away. It's an old mid-summer tradition here in the West which got hijacked for St. John's eve. Good opportunity to get rid of DS's old school papers!

Hope all are well.

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 24/06/2017 15:12

Jane head sore here too!

TheWorldHasGoneToCake · 24/06/2017 15:13

Sorry, I keep being interrupted by horrid grumpy children....

We've done lots at a gentle pace but feeling very shattered and short of fuse!

Hugs to all.
