Hello all. Cake very glad ds is better, long may it last. I'm so impressed by everyone's gardening skills - I'm almost tempted to try and plant something, almost being the operative word. Willow go and give Argos a piece of your mind and then never darken their doorstep again! Drama I hope your last night was good and that you've had a safe journey home. book I have this vision in my mind of your garden looking like a beautiful typical English cottage garden, the type of thing Miss Marple would have. Am I way off the mark?!
Squirrels I get you. I feel like that all the time - I have a lovely day with friends, and then get so sad that they are either going home together, or going home to tell their partner about their day. And, as you say, it's not about wanting any old someone to be with, it's about wanting Mark and John back to share our lives with. More and more recently I've been wanting to tell Mark things - I thought the impulse to do that would lessen as time passed but strangely it seems to be going the opposite way for me.
Last night was interesting! I found myself the quietest, darkest, furthest corner of the cinema bar I could and was sat quite happily with my gin, some popcorn and my phone. Firstly some man came and sat with me and started talking - I managed to scare him off quite easily by telling him I was recently widowed. Then a group of lads about ds1's age came and sat with me - I looked lonely apparently and did I want to go to the cinema with them? I scared them off by telling them I had children older than them, and decided the cinema bar was not the place for me! So I found this other bar type place that fortunately was practically empty - never in my 52 years have I walked in on my own to somewhere like that, to buy a drink to then drink on my own! Mark would think I'd been cloned. So far out of my comfort zone. Am 100 % happier tonight, sat in my bed with my candles lit, a bag of maltesers on the go, and MN to hand!
Dd enjoyed the concert though, and once we were reunited it was kind of buzzy being up there, and we had a lot of fun. She found herself sitting next to an Australian man who kept trying to talk to her, so she was making me laugh by imitating all that he'd been saying and her attempts to shut him down. We got home at about 2.30 and I've had a quiet day today just pottering really.
