Evening all,
Just about to go to sleep so apologies not to name everyone.
Hope all Babes had a good day, well done to those who didn't drink. I had 2 drinks over a long afternoon which I'm happy with. Finally learning to enjoy a couple and leave it there (can't risk wine - it wouldnt end well)

Will try to catch up properly tomorrow but I'm reading every post, nodding, smiling, cheering and commiserating where appropriate. We really do rock Smile

OkPedro · 16/04/2017 23:09

Goodnight lux I'm AF tonight and plan to do the same tomorrow. Baby steps..Hope everyone had a lovely Easter Sunday

CuileanDubh · 16/04/2017 23:12

lux sounds like a beezer of a day for you too! We do rock, don't we? Smile

made aah, she's lovely, my auntie always had Scotties, they are a breed like no other. Like little moustachioed people in dog form Grin Bright, big thinkers - they remember everything, thrawn, joyous, playful, and look at other dogs gone out if slighted/growled at. And remember a slight for their whole lives. Love 'em!

Are you getting your fitness levels up for the infamous beep test? Did you manage to watch Line Of Duty? Shock Was v good!

better count me in for a biiiiig plate of your lamb tagine please.

yon blossom is affa bonny, I bet your garden is gorgeous!

user and elle hope you both had a lovely day, check in tomorrow if you can?

pedro how did you get on today with your family gathering? Are you home now?

I'm going to watch some Man Down now. Try to lift me a bit before I sleep. Boss is picking me up in the morning. I'm sure me leaving early on Friday will be a fun topic. Will find some strength from somewhere, I sound like a right wimp on here, but I am the master of fronting shit out. I just break when I get home. Friday was the exception.

Night night all, sweet dreams.

CuileanDubh · 16/04/2017 23:14

Could I join please? I've been a lurker for a while. I'm feeling very hungover and disappointed with myself Sad Had a family gathering yesterday and I drank far too much. I need some time off drinking, I've found a break has done me good in the past. Not sure how long to aim for but would like to check in here for support.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 17/04/2017 09:28

Welcome Susie just join in ☺

Well the male of the house has surpassed himself, trashed last night, utter manchild. DD and I were pretty scared tbh, he is pretty scared this morning. The bitch bites back.

dementedma · 17/04/2017 09:38

welcome susie
lux are you ok? Can you tell him to leave for a few days until the dust settles. If his behaviour was enough to frighten his child (let alone his wife) then he needs a serious wake up call.

OP posts:
LuxuryWoman2017 · 17/04/2017 09:44

Yeah I'm fine, he is terrified today. He can't remember his behaviour last night. I have reminded him in no uncertain terms.
There is actually nowhere for him to go right now and we can't afford a hotel.
Things change dramatically in the next month financially so freedom can be mine.

Never at my worst drinking was I like this.

dementedma · 17/04/2017 09:47

can you take DD and go out for the day, telling him you don't feel safe around him and need to consider your options. Expect him to clean up the house and his act while you are out!

OP posts:
LuxuryWoman2017 · 17/04/2017 09:51

I will be doing good just that ma

Hope else is OK today, weather and bit gloomy here.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 17/04/2017 09:52

Gah typos! On phone with fat fingers.

dementedma · 17/04/2017 11:03

Christ, I'm bored!
Even though work is shit I'd quite happily go in today if I had a car on the road. WTF do people who don't work DO all day if they don't have money for treats, shopping, trips out.
Have done all the housework i can think of, read every bloody book in the house and just cba going for a walk. Maybe I should go and visit dad in the care home - that's a laugh a minute!
And it's only 11am...

Back on day 1. I think holidays are hard. Got to do this.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 17/04/2017 11:52

Morning everyone. Quickly marking place on thread, will be back later.

Today I will not be drinking Easter Grin

Tillymintsmama · 17/04/2017 12:04

Can i join? Are there any rules? Ive been trying to quit the booze for years. Single mum, 8 year old DD. Drink from boredom and to relieve stress. Probably a bottle of wine every night. Feeling fat, grumpy, middle aged; like I've had the best part of my life and it's all downhill from here... (I'm 45). Booze takes away those feelings for a little while (an increasingly little while!). Don't feel I have any friends really, just acquaintances, probably have a majorly fucked up "attachment style".

grumpysquash3 · 17/04/2017 12:09

Hi Tilly
Of course you can join. There are no rules (other than come and chat and be friendly :))

kateshair · 17/04/2017 12:11

Hi all can I jump on board for a bit please. Have been on before last year just for a wee while. Am always lurking and drawing strength from you ladies.
I've done quite well this year with only a few days slip up Blush and I had my reasons (excuses).
I feel like I'm acting my way through life at the moment. I had lovely house (mine). Decent job ish ! Nice friends and family are good also...
I'm just struggling with the man I'm seeing Confused.. Too long a story to go into but let's say it's complicated and is currently leaving me in a state of panic and insecurity. This is where I turn to the shit that is alcohol and that never will end well for me.. I woke this morning and I swear I wanted to go out and buy wine Blush.. I can't do that as I have my little girl with me and plus family popping over later..
So can I stay with you all through this hard time in my life please.
Feel like I know some of you as I read everyday Smile

grumpysquash3 · 17/04/2017 12:14

Morning bibbity and everyone else,
I have definitely hopped off the bus over the long weekend and have drunk far too much wine. Since I last posted, my number of AF days in April has risen to four, but it is far too low.
I'm back at work tomorrow, however, so today I will not be drinking. Also hoping for a better nights sleep (have been awake at 3am every night of the weekend, either with nightmares, stress dreams, DH snoring, or all three). I actually really hate sharing a bedroom/bed. It's by far the worst thing about being married IMO.

grumpysquash3 · 17/04/2017 12:16

Hi Kate
Yes, of course. Nice to 'meet' you.
You probably already know me a bit if you read regularly.....

kateshair · 17/04/2017 12:20

Hi grumpy thanks for welcome.
We can do this together for today Smile.
God snoring that's a curse and a half x

Rubyredlips · 17/04/2017 12:52

Wow, proper busy on the bus. I've read back on the thread and one day will manage to name check Blush. I'm on day 38 AF I feel like I'm in a new world or actually returned to the world I was born into but left when I was 28 ie 20 years ago. I feel really peculiar. I have been obsessed with boozing since I was 28ish I have realised. Not particularly drinking loads but bingeing on a Friday night and then recovering over the week ready for the next one.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 17/04/2017 15:12

Welcome Kate and Tilly

Looking forward to getting to know you both later. Got a man sized hole to dig right now - patio or too obvious? Angry

grumpysquash3 · 17/04/2017 15:37

Lux
Patio would be the first place they'd look.
How about a meat mincer?

grumpysquash3 · 17/04/2017 15:38

Or something along the lines of Sweeney Todd (you could have Mrs Lux's pie shop) :)
