How old were you when you had a child?

I'm worrying about this. At work, anyone who reaches 30 seems panicked if they're not on their way to having a baby.

I'm nearly 30 and still single so nowhere near having children!

mybread six weeks after wedding for me! My two are 18 and 19 now, bloody hard work doing it like that. Very similar Smile

cosmicglittergirl · 02/06/2016 20:48

33 and 35. I know a fair few people who had their first in their late 30s, early 40s.

sockrage · 02/06/2016 20:48

My friend had first at 30 and second at 40 no big deal

Uneasypeasy · 02/06/2016 20:48

I was 34 ... I'm just having the one, but certainly not because I'm too old Smile lots of my old school friends had first babies at the same time - it seemed a popular age!

TwoLittleBlooms · 02/06/2016 20:49

I had my first child at 23 and my second at 35. Conceived very quickly both times.

MyBreadIsEggy · 02/06/2016 20:49

justdont I thought it was a fluke getting pregnant so quickly....but then it happened again this time around. Had my implant removed and within the first month, found myself up-duffed again Grin DD will be 17 months when this baby arrives....I'm excited and terrified!!

RubixCubes · 02/06/2016 20:49

22 and will be 28 with this one.

In all honesty - if I could guarantee the same child and could go back in time I would have waited until I was a bit older.

MaisieDotes · 02/06/2016 20:50

25, on my own. I was fine but missed out on a lot.

Then 38 & 39.

n0ne · 02/06/2016 20:51
  1. I met DH at 28 and he didn't want to get on the baby train for a good while. I still think I've got time for one more - I know multiple people who had babies at 40+

FWIW, I had a perfect, easy, healthy pg at 33-34 so I wouldn't be too worried if I were you :)

123littleducks · 02/06/2016 20:51

19 with my first, 25 with my second, and 28 with my third am 30 now and wanted another one in a year or so (but their dad just left us so prob won't happen now Hmm) I don't think age matters, it's when you're ready. In a way I wish I'd waited as find it impossible to buy a house now as can't save a deposit when most my wages go on rent so would of been better to make sure I was in a settles relationship and that. Although don't regret having him at all he made my life better and I've always worked hard to be the best mum I can X

justdontevenfuckingstart · 02/06/2016 20:52

mybread 14 months between my two and a mc in-between. Ex was a Baker (more coincidences lol) they said it was the yeast. Very hard when little but soo good after that and my two are soo close.

MrsBenWyatt · 02/06/2016 20:52

Only1scoop · 02/06/2016 20:53

37

Dp 46

spankhurst · 02/06/2016 20:53

36 and a half. Know loads of people who had their first well into their 30s.

crispiecrunchie · 02/06/2016 20:54

I'm the oldest so far. 40 with my first and 42 with my second. Both straightforward pregnancies.

Done now.

30 is young among those I know

Querty12345 · 02/06/2016 20:54

22 when I had ds and I'm 23 pregnant with number 2. You have bags of time! A friend of mine is 43 and just had her first DD Smile

MyBreadIsEggy · 02/06/2016 20:55

justdont reassuring to hear your kids were so close growing up - that's what I'm hoping for Smile
At least you have some sort of explanation to your super fertility......my DH now thinks he deserves some sort of award for having Olympic gold-medal-worthy sperm Grin

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/06/2016 20:56

25, hope to have the next one when I'm 27.

Zaurak · 02/06/2016 20:56
  1. Want another soon!

There's no perfect age for everyone. Plenty of advantages to being a younger parent. For me personally it's worked better being older - I am more financially secure. And I shudder at the thought I might have procreated with some of the twats I dated...

Cally70 · 02/06/2016 20:56

39 & 42 & had them by myself. They're both donor conceived. For those of you still single, there are options out there. And, it's definitely not a 2nd best option Smile

ElodieS · 02/06/2016 20:56

31 when DTs were born, 35 now and pregnant with DC3.

BasinHaircut · 02/06/2016 20:56
  1. Will TTC again soon so will be 34 (hopefully) for second
almapudden · 02/06/2016 20:57

This is such a relief. I'm 31 and not in a position to have children yet, but definitely starting to worry it'll pass me by, even though hardly any of my friends have children and I know loads who had theirs later.

I think it's the relentless parade of babies on Facebook that's making me itch!

Laniakea · 02/06/2016 20:58

I had my four between 25 & 35. Most women I know had children well into their 30s & 40s.

secretsignal · 02/06/2016 20:58

37 and 39 Smile
