Being called a miltf, would you be insulted?

gottafindaman4yagirl · 08/12/2014 12:19

Was called a miltf by a younger guy who I had one date with. I found it insulting and told him so.
Would anyone be flattered? Seems like a teenager thing to say and not a 26 yr old man and not respectful.

Oh, OK fair comment but then not sure why you need 7 pages of comments to tell you whether or not you should be flattered by being called a MILF if that's your view on a wolf-whistle.
I'd say it's bloody insulting based on the fact that you're 26 as it originates from American Pie when the lady in question is in her 40's

JohnFarleysRuskin · 09/12/2014 14:41

Thats funny Jake. You need to get a sense of humor and stop taking everything at fdace value.
This was your response when some people told them how MILF made them feel.
Now you've come back to tell us that actually, most women love being wolfwhistled at.
You clearly haven't been called MILF or been wolf-whistled at a lot. So, I'm wondering if you do it a lot. Don't be ashamed. Most women love it, apparently.

gottafindaman4yagirl · 09/12/2014 14:47

jake please feel free to not comment or don't bother with reading thread. So far I'm not interested in what you have to say or why your bothering.

Op isn't 26

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 09/12/2014 14:49

The guy in question is 26.

Being in 40s isn't an insult either. You really have some nice views on women there

gottafindaman4yagirl · 09/12/2014 14:51

Man was 26 and I am 33.

Do you know what an ad hominem arguement is?

jakesmith · 09/12/2014 14:55

So sorry, I must appoligise to the OP, in future I will only post on a public forum when I agree with everyone else, obviously that's what open public forums are for.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 09/12/2014 14:55

Yes I know what one is. Doesn't apply here.

( and it's argument)

TheHermitCrab · 09/12/2014 15:04

jakesmith

You seem to be doing a whole lot of defending, and I don't think it's for the stranger in question who calls a lady a MILF, comments on her underwear and then tells her he wanks off over the thought of her arse, all after the first date. If you really think any woman would be complimented by any of that, then you are puddled.

Yes couples do make x rated comments to each other, or may talk about getting off on the thought of each other, but usually not on their first date, before they know eachother, and before they have already been intimate... it's creepy.

As for the wolf whistle scenario, I have never met or known a woman who has been complimented by it. Usually pissed off, or embarrassed, or just annoyed at the thought of it. We shouldn't be lucky or happy to be complimented that way, and much rather appreciate genuine compliments from people we know/like mutually. There are women who like that kind of attention, but they are not the kind of women who have decent relationships and are usually upset when the man starts ogling other women in the same way (surprise surprise).

Lack of self control, men who act like that are about as embarrassing as them women in diet coke adds getting all worked up over a topless man. It's just immature.

I'm generalising, but I don't care.

jakesmith · 09/12/2014 15:07

I've never defended the guy in question, the later posts make it very clear that he is a twat. I would suggest that the word milf does not objectify and degrade women and should not be taken literally

To add some much needed facts to the discussion, I've just done a straw poll amongst 3 or 4 of the other lads on the oil rig and can confirm that some of them do think milf is OK

gottafindaman4yagirl · 09/12/2014 15:07

jake you could start your own thread on the rights of men to wolf whistle, flash, touch women up on the tube or whatever else you feel is appropriate or not.
I didn't ask for seven pages either, and you seem very uptight about this discussion which was not my initial intention.

OP posts:
TheHermitCrab · 09/12/2014 15:10

Aww well well done for you and your lads making the suggestion on what phrases we should/shouldn't take literally from you guys ;)

jakesmith · 09/12/2014 15:21

So sorry, going to have to go offline for a bit now, things change fast in the dynamic environment of oil platforms - there's a boat going past in a few minutes that we believe may have some female passengers; we might need to get on the PA system for a wolf whistle to boost the passengers' self esteem, provided they are attractive enough. Will report back on whether they smile or not imminently.

supernaut · 09/12/2014 15:28

I'm not a prude I just dont get turned on by a man jumping straight into sex talk when he's not engaged my brain in other ways

Hm, yes. But some first dates are more sober, serious and intellectual, some more light hearted and flirty.
Some people would think a first date without a bit of flirting would be extremely dull.
A different woman might have found his comment cheeky and charming.
As others said, the word has become more than it's actual acronym to become a general term for attractive older woman.
But if you break it down to it's original meaning it's pretty awful.

MyChildDoesntNeedSleep · 09/12/2014 15:31

I know it has 'mum' in the term, but Milf usually refers to an older woman.

gottafindaman4yagirl · 09/12/2014 16:48

Be careful jake that the male passengers on the boat dont get the wrong idea.

Tobyjugg · 09/12/2014 16:53

Do men still wolf whistle? I haven't heard one in years. [BTW I could never manage to do one. Can't whistle through my fingers either.]

jakesmith · 09/12/2014 17:53

We did one earlier off the rig Toby, got flicked the bird by the fit one who was on the passing oil tanker. (That's not a euphemism by the way). That's that then, times are changing so we have to change with them and stop being such dinosaurs I suppose. Also FYI just got a text from my mum who does like milf so some good supporting evidence there, one each way I suppose. Must sign off to watch a classic episode of The Sweeny.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 09/12/2014 17:56

That's a fascinating little insight to your life there, Jake. Thanks for sharing it with us.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 09/12/2014 17:57

You called your mum a milf Shock

Tobyjugg · 09/12/2014 17:59

Must be quite some whistle you have there to carry over a North Sea gale.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 09/12/2014 18:04

Tell the truth, Jake. You are in your bedroom in your mum's house, sat at your MFI desk with one hand on your keyboard and the other in your stained Nike 3/4 jogpants..

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 09/12/2014 18:07

No sorry, I got that wrong. The joggers are Fila.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 09/12/2014 18:09

Are you feeling a warm glow of fraternal bonding, Toby ?
