My brother has gone missing

He went out to work yesterday morning and didn't turn up. My mum got at phone call from them at 10am asking where he was. He's 26 and lives at home, but is v shy and reserved person, def not a 'lad'. He's now been out all night and my parents have called the police. They are both so worried and I feel so far away from them right now .

The football team he supports has a match tonight, so my dad is going to go to see if he is there.

do you know if he's taken anything with him like clothes or passport?

You know most 'disappearances' like this end quickly with the person coming home. Wishing you and your parents lots of courage and help in the horrible waiting period.

shimmy - as far as they know, nothing extra, just what hed normally take to work. I know likelihood is hell turn up soon, but this is so out of character

I hope he turns up soon. Have you contacted his bank to see if he has withdrawn any cash. I don't know if they give that information to you but just a thought.

Thankjs for your support, RL friend just came over, nice to have some company, especially as DS is grizzly from his first jabs today and was being sick everywhere.

have your parents called round the hospitals etc? has anything about his behavior changed recently - has he had any worries/anything that he might have just needed some space from?

keeping fingers crossed that he'll come home soon.

Have just got off the phone from my mum. She said the police have been really helpful, have checked local hospitals and they have given permission for them to access his bank account. They will also be circulating his photo at the match tonight and prob do announcement.

Thanks for all the messages of support, really do appreciate it as feel pretty helpless at the mo.

Have you contacted the National Missing Persons Helpline?.

They can assist in such circumstances.

Wannabe - he has been pretty low recently, just started a new job and I don't think he felt he was doing very well.
