Toad's Solicitor phoned me at home unannounced after hours this evening

I thought this would call for a new thread.

As I was preparing the children's dinner, the phone rang and guess who it was? Toad's solicitor, to have a chat about contact.

I am a friendly and polite person, also was in shock, so I complied and explained to him the children's views on their father.

DS thought I was 'cool'. Confused.

You never know what will happen at the moment.

It does seem to me that when confronted, he shrivels up, whereas sitting in his hotel room, bored and alone, he can unleash the puffed-up Master-of-the-Universe MAN! (via email)

Little Krote-with-a-silent-S

Flowers Karen.

thatsnotmynamereally · 17/12/2014 09:10

Flowers well done for progress. Hope all well.

Karenthetoadslayer · 17/12/2014 11:01

Thank you all.

The persuader cries. 'It's Christmas! I can't cope without you' ".

Hey, you've got a christmas game all set up - Toad bingo - with Freedom Programme notes you can award yourself a point for every time he confirms to a FP type
Am hoping the Toad hotel is slowly turning off the heating and getting ready for seasonal close down - mini bar not being restocked, bar closing early, breakfast looking a little less appetising and staff slowly heading off to their families.
I am guessing he will end up bedding down in the office, under his desk with a bottle of whisky for company Xmas Grin

Karenthetoadslayer · 18/12/2014 16:18

'Karen, I do accept many things you say.'

Wow. This deserves to be the quote of the day.

But...?

Bogeyface · 18/12/2014 16:34

Just what I was thinking Lweji!

There is going to be a but somewhere.......

Karenthetoadslayer · 18/12/2014 17:06

the 'but' is going to be in one of the follow-up emails, I am sure. This was the entire message. Not edited, except for my name, of course.

OP posts:
Karenthetoadslayer · 18/12/2014 17:07

As WWK said upthread. May be someone hit him over the head with a hammer not me.

OP posts:
Lweji · 18/12/2014 17:10

No, it's still him being a Toad. Or he would have said what he agrees with.
It's just like those token apologies that are supposed to pacify you, but when you ask what they apologise for, they have no answer.

Thumbnutstwitchingonanopenfire · 18/12/2014 17:23

YY, it's not a "turnaround", it's the "next tactic" in the arsenal designed to bring Karen back to heel.

Increasingly desperate...

Has he told you he still loves you despite everything yet?

Karenthetoadslayer · 18/12/2014 17:35

We have had more than our fair share of apologies, mainly due to 'misunderstandings', of course.

OP posts:
Karenthetoadslayer · 18/12/2014 17:35

Of course he still loves me, Thumb.

OP posts:
Thumbnutstwitchingonanopenfire · 18/12/2014 17:40

Urgh. I should think that makes your skin crawl, no?

Karenthetoadslayer · 18/12/2014 17:44

It worries me, Thumb.

OP posts:
Thumbnutstwitchingonanopenfire · 18/12/2014 17:49

Ah no, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like it actually means anything in Toadspeak, he doesn't understand the concept. He just knows it's "words you say" when you want to get your own way, and he can't understand why it isn't currently working.

ItIsntJustAPhase · 18/12/2014 17:58

I totally agree with Thumb.

But I also understand the worry, because this is a new tactic and you are in somewhat new territory. I would expect a tantrum, and his tantrums are always vile. But it probably won't be a new sort of tantrum, iyswim. Just a regular run of the mill Toad tantrum.

RandomMess · 18/12/2014 20:53

It will be that tantrum of "What do I have to do Karen to get you to agree with me" 2 year old style paddy of stamping feet.

JuxaSnogUndertheMistletoe · 19/12/2014 08:07

Would playing Toad Bingo help?

dawntigga · 19/12/2014 11:05

Karen of course he still loves, just fucking look at you, you're amazing how could anyone fail to love you?*

Of course, he's lucked out now because:

a) he's a wankbadger
b) he treated you horribly**
c) you see him now for who he really is*

Being seen for who he really is, means his shit no longer works and he needs it to in the same way a drug addict needs a fix. You are no longer allowing yourself to be his drug of choice. He will probably jones after you for the rest of his life. For some reason that gives me a nice warm glow. He can't do anything about it and you get to live well, it really is the best form of revenge. Although, sewing prawns in their curtains comes a close second.

EvilISAGiftTiggaxx

you are genuinely fabulous you know
**horribly is an understatement

Thumbnutstwitchingonanopenfire · 19/12/2014 12:22

One of my fab friends, when I was done over by my ex-fiancé and had to (eventually) leave my "forever house" said I should put a dead rat in the water tank - I liked the idea but had no idea where to find a rat corpse (a white one for the petshop would have been a dead giveaway, sadly).

Just a thought...

ScrambledSmegs · 19/12/2014 13:48

I know where to get one. Endless supply near me. I could send it in a Jiffy bag.

The Post Office's new policy to grill people about the contents of their parcels could prove problematic, though.

Lweji · 19/12/2014 14:56

Post office clerk: What's inside the packet?

Karen: Some fur and dry meat.

Lweji · 19/12/2014 14:57

Or just send via a courier company. It can be cheaper than Parcel Force and collect from your home.

Bogeyface · 19/12/2014 15:04

I live in the country and I can supply any amount of road kill!

Just let me know your flat animal of choice I could probably get one to you within a couple of days!
